Just had a look at the next 5 fixtures for my 3 strikers... If I don't get big hauls from these 3 forwards in the next 5 games I never will... Very promising! 🙂

I've just got Tadic in lol. I'd prefer Chadli for the price but not sure it's worth a transfer.

Thinking save this week and change Terry next week? Tough fixtures coming

Wildcarded with 13.9 to spend on two midfielders. Not sure how to fill in the gaps.

    Schmeichel - Krul
    Azpilicueta - Clyne/Bertrand - Chambers - Hutton - Dummett
    Di Maria - Sterling - Sigurdsson - ______ - _________
    Aguero - Costa - Welbeck

    A) Tadic + Chadli
    B) Fabregas* + Boyd
    C) Other

Balotelli>Welbeck freeing up 3M for the week that follows.

Not really sure what to do here. Need to fix up this defence as it is extremely leaky. Was thinking of downgrading Falcao but now he scored so even more confused.

2 FT; 0.2 in the bank.

    Forster (McCarthy)
    Lovren Clyne Trippier Shawcross Wisdom

    Heaton/Howard
    Lovren, Clyne, Duff, Ward, Vlaar
    Sigi, Fabregas, Hazard, Henderson
    Costa, Falcao, Pelle

1 FT and 0.6M itb. I am interested in getting ADM as I am Chelsea heavy, and he seems to be a must-have, but cannot do a straight swap from Fabregas. Should I take a -4 hit do to make a move to ADM, and who should I downgrade (Lovren?, Falcao?). Perhaps:

    a) Lovren to $4.5M flavor of the month defender (fill in blank)
    b) Falcao to Sakho, Naismith, Welbeck, or Berahino
    c) wildcard this team and make wholesale changes

Had 69 today, and have done above average last 3 gw's. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks very much!

I certainly wouldn't wildcard. I'd do the Lovren to 4.5 defender if it were me. Of course, I'm not sure that I'd get rid of Fabregas before Hazard...which would let you do a straight swap of Hazard to ADM, no?

Thanks Vic. Yes, I could do Hazard to ADM. I'd love to have both Eden and ADM as I think Hazard is pretty on par in terms of scoring potential, and takes penalties. I drafted Eden, and held and patience paid off today. He seemed to really press the action, and could have had even more points. I'll consider this move as ADM is a force, and also the Lovren downgrade. Thanks again.

I was a Hazard supporter as well until I couldn't bear watching Fab's price continue to rise. I still think that Hazard will outscore Fab over the course of the season, but the question is whether or not ADM will outscore whoever you have in his possible spot more than Hazard will outscore Fabregas...

That is a good logical conclusion. I think Hazard will outscore Fab, and Adm will outscore Fab, but that Haz will be about equal to ADM. I am a measly 0.1M off from a straight Fab > ADM swap to test that out. I guess am leaning to Lovren downgrade

    Good evening all!

So here's my dilemma for the day. I've finally ran out of patience with Cabella (I know, I know. Why did I even think that was a good idea in the first place, right?) Unfortunately he's continued to plummet and now I need a replacement. Here's the current squad:

    Llloris / Gilks
van Aanholt / Moore / NTaylor / Chester / Jones (I know...I was addressing other problems)
di Maria / Sterling / Fabregas / Sigurrdson / Cabella
    Costa / Pelle / Welbeck

    1 ft, .8 ITB

So, with that mess there, should I exchange Cabella with:

    A) Chadli (and end up with 1.8 in the bank to be splashed on the front or back)?
    B) Some bench fodder (Mahrez, Jedinak, etc. leaving me even more to splash)?
    C) Eriksen (who I've had before and seems like the perpetual tease and leaving me with .3 ITB)?
    D) Someone that I haven't listed (and, trust me, I'm open to suggestions here!)?

    Thanks in advance!

I was a hardcore supporter of the 3-5-2 at the beginning of the season and have since seemed to move to a 4-3-3 approach...so, yeah, probably best to go with bench fodder.

That said, with the way Cabella's been performing, any bench fodder is already better than he is...

I've been rotating 352 and 433 so far, and thus far my benched odd-man out has collected only 15 points in 7 games total and only 1 goal so it has worked very well for me. I've benched Fabregas, Siggy x2, and Tadic x2, and avoided their blanks.

However, I'm now moving closer to a 343, even though I now have Downing as my 5th mid and benching Tadic/Siggy in gw7-8. He's awesome value but I may downgrade him soon if i need cash, though i don't foresee that being an issue, especially the way he's scoring... having him today got me 8 points instead of Tadic's 1 🙂

Downing is one of the best 5th mids imo. He might cost 1m extra over the dirt cheap ones, but as i just said above it can really help having a reliable guy who can score well when one of your other players has a tough fixture

Wheels about to fall off Southampton?
They have been very fortunate thus far, playing teams when they at their worst etc. Honeymoon period now over, and other teams starting to take them more seriously , can see them gradually slide down to mid table
Or are they too good for that?

Probably will end up about mid-to-to-top half of the table I should imagine. I wasn't too surprised that they lost to Spurs yesterday. They are a better side overall.

Think Southampton will end up in 7-10th place. Wheels won't fall off, but they won't beat top 4-5 teams unless Tadic starts to score instead of hitting posts.

Would be a good move. Maybe even Alderweireld as the extra 0.2 saved may help down the line (Aguero potentially?) - I currently only have 0.1 ITB with my team. I only got him because he was cheaper though, but the Saints' back line definitely seems like a good bet.

Its the difference between affording a Walcott instead of a Henderson if you're on a WC, which can make a huge difference points wise though, especially over a few months.

I'd probably take the points too though. You can always find an in-form 4th mid rather than big hitter. Chadli, Siggy, Henderson, Downing, etc are all good options too

Tough one, but i'd say 104 this early in the season. If half the difference between 104 and 101 is actually value you would have when you sold the players, that could mean a player worth 1.5 more, which could give you more than 50 points difference over the rest of the season. Just my opinion.

        • 11 Years

Good points. I agree that its really important to build some cash early on, but I was just thinking about what the cost of each 0.1 would be... for example, would you take a hit if it meant you could avoid a drop of 0.1, or take a hit to gain 0.1 on someone who's rising?

How many 0.1's is 4 points worth?

Haven't thought about it that deeply. I wouldn't take a hit to avoid a 0.1 drop if I think the player is of value (earlier i took hits on Mata (pre-Falcao) and Rooney) and price will come back. However, I was quick to jump on Naismith and Ulloa bandwagons, which allowed me to bring in a cheaper player and build value. Sold Naismith +.3 and Ulloa is +.2 if sold now.

This year finding the differentiator will be key, and having a little extra cash to upgrade players may make the difference.

Totally agree, and in fact I'm very guilty of doing just what you described: Mata>Fab and the musical chairs that was Bojan>Naismith>Ulloa>Welbeck.

I've pocketed a tidy 0.5 from their rises, but have really suffered points-wise with only 7 points from 5 starts from that group as I chased the points. I'm confident that Welbeck is heavily undervalued though so I'll just sit on his price rise for a long time now barring anything drastic. I really hope my forward line of Costa-Pelle-Welbeck can stay together until at least GW13 now, allowing me to finally spend my 5.4itb on Baines and other upgrades.

Wish I got him over Ulloa. No room for him now probably.

It won't last IMO. But still incredible start.

I've decided to avoid cheap 3rd strikers from now on and stick to the big teams. I wasted 3 FT's on jumping around trying to follow price risers and points, and 7 points is all i have to show for 5 starts from Bojan-Naismith-Ulloa.

    Begovic - Krul

    Terry - Clyne - Naylor

Siggy - Fab - Sterling - Di Maria

    Costa - Ulloa - Welbeck

I have 5.4 Mill to upgrade, but I also have 2 trades

    Suggestions, Thankyou

Think he'll start vs Palace? (if he's declared fit)

    A) Ivan Tadic Welbeck
    B) Azpi ADM Ulloa

      B. ADM is essential, Ivan's goals/assists won't continue, Welbeck and Ulloa will probably be a toss-up, but ADM much better than Tadic

Costa with a good fixture, Pelle at home. Who to captain?

Costa. In fact, I think that I've just decided to sew the armband directly on to his arm...

Ok. New question. Which of the following options is most appealing?

    A) Cabella to Downing (2.5 ITB)?
    B) Cabella to Chadli (1.8 ITB plus the possibility of a .2/.3 price rise)?
    C) Cabella to Mahrez/Jedinak (3.2/3.1 ITB)?
    D) Cabella to oh, wait, Mohamed Diame's fixtures in the near future stink...but still... (2.7 ITB)?

    Thoughts?

      A. I bought in on Downing this weeks game, and it paid dividends. Think the new WHU fits Downing quite nicely, and Downing only owned by 4.7% and is cheap

Hmm...this is why I come to this board. To give me new ideas that had never crossed my mind to add to the dilemma of making transfers. Thanks for complexifying my life!

    Thoughts on these choices:

    1) fabregas and tadic (or any other mid 7.6 and under)
    2) di Maria and mane (or any other mid 6.9 and under)
    3) di Maria and Chadli and use extra funds to improve a defender down the road
    4) bego to anyone 5.1 or less that will ever get cs's
    5) falcoa to wellbeck or pelle and tadic to di Maria
    6) other

    Current team is:
    Bego (4.0)
    Clyne PVA duff (wisdom Hutton)
    Fab sterling tadic siggy (boyd)
    Costa Aguero falcoa

    Thanks in advance

      3. Big fan of ADM and, while i don't like Spurs, Chadli continues to perform well.

2 FTs with this team. Dont know what to do with it.

    Forster
    Clyne Chambers Naylor Moore Duff
    Fabregas DiMaria Sterling Siggy Boyd
    Costa Aguero Pelle

Unless theres an intl injury, nothing obvious.

Aguero Naylor -> Welbeck Baines in the cards.
Feels so wrong transferring out an in form Kun tho.

i wouldn't sell Kun unless he picks up injury over Intl break.

    DDG,
    Cahill, Clyne, Naylor
    Di Maria, Mane, Sterling, Siggy,
    Ulloa, Welbeck, Costa

    Subs. Gilks, Chambers, Wisdom, Marney,

    6.7m to upgrade.. 1ft

Ulloa my capt obviously the biggest let down.

Who's the best replacement for Lamela. I have Downing as my 4th mid at the moment.. Thinking either Lampard or Chadli but don't know if Chadli/Downing is a waste on the pine.

    Forster (McCarthy)

Ivan - Baines - Clyne (Wilson - Duff)

Fabs - ADM - Sterling - Siggy (Boyd)

    Costa - Pelle - Welbz

    0.2 ITB - 2FT

    Thoughts? 😀

My team next week (no hits):
    Doing Balotelli>Welbeck

    Begovic
    Baines Clyne Duff
    Fabregas Sterling Sigurdsson Di Maria
    Pelle Welbeck Costa

    Subs: Wisdom, Moore, Marney

    Question:

Should I upgrade a 4.0M defender for a hit to someone like Ivanovic?

Anyone losing patience with Ulloa? Sakho and Pelle are looking tempting

If you've brought in Ulloa, you've probably brought him in precisely for two of the next three games (and even the SWA game isn't all that scary)...

What to do with 1FT // 0.7 ITB? Cheers.

    Courtois
    Clyne PVA Coloccini
    ADM Silva Sterling Siggy Chadli
    Aguero (vc) Costa (c)

    Gilks Vaz Te Moore Wisdom

    A) Save FT
    B) Silva and Vaz Te > Boyd and Welbeck

      Hey Davies! 🙂

Why are you still so adamant about swapping Silva and Welbeck? Seems like a very big waste of 2FT's imo. Silva has been unlucky not to score loads recently.

As I've suggested before, your biggest worry should be Coloccini, and you've also got a concussed goalkeeper and no backup....
