As we brace ourselves for the second international break of the season, our Sunday members regular delves into the Gameweek 7 data. United’s record signing, City’s in-form frontman and Swansea’s resurgent striker are amongst this evening’s topics, as we also analyse the recent displays of a number of favourably priced midfielders across the last few Gameweeks.

Anything need fixing here? (Other than keepers!)

    Krul/Elliot
    Moreno/Taylor/Caulker/Wisdom/Hutton
    Adm/Silva/Sterling/siggy/marney
    Costa/Aguero/welbeck

      Excellent team.

Basically, get rid of Caulker, it's a good week to do it. Or just save the FT and do it next week.

Tomkins is only good for next gw and then we have harder fixtures. Also remember yesterday was our first clean sheet and a tomkins assist is rarer than rocking horse shit

What would you do with this bunch of misfits? I'm thinking Moreno & Dzeko > PvA and Aguero. Any suggestions?

    Begovic McCarthy
    Baines Moreno Clyne Naylor Moore
    Sterling Siggy Fabregas Tadic Boyd
    Costa Dzeko Pelle

1 FT, 3m itb. Any help would be very much appreciated.

So if you were to pick 5 players for the next 6 or so weeks, with 1 defender, 2 midfielders and 2 strikers, who would they be?

    For me;

Baines - needs no explaining, AVL bur SWA sun WHU in the next 5

Sterling - looked a little off the last few but has still managed 17 points in 3 games, looks better with Sturridge in the side and has qpr HUL new cpl STK in his next 6
Di Maria - him and Fabregas both have dodgy fixtures but he looks more threatening on goal, and looks more reliable than Ozil/Sanchez.

Aguero - seems set to explode, unlucky to only have 2 goals in the last 2 weeks and is finally looking fit.
    Costa - Goals.

Looks like ADM will be this year's Yaya in the sense that he will keep scoring jammy points* and annoy those who don't just embrace him and bring him in early!

      To be fair;

      Di Maria; 2.8 shots/game, 3.2 key passes/game

      Yaya 2013/14; 1.8 and 1.2

Yaya was jammy in the sense that he did nothing for 89 minutes then popped up with a FK or screamer.

He has been getting lucky goals and assists but then he might start getting assists from the chances that he intentionally creates and the his last 2 goals have been class.

I think he's far from this year's Yaya, and that's just what non-owners are labelling him 😉

He gets into great positions, he gets forward A lot, he takes quite a few shots, some/most(i'll have to check again) are in great positions like in the box, he's on set pieces.

He's really nothing like Yaya, imo. Sure, his points so far have been mixed in the sense that some have been "dodgy" or lucky, but it's just unfortunate that some of his other solid attempts haven't resulted in goals/assist.

harry redknapp has to be the biggest spoofer in football.always has been yet he somehows manages to charm his way into football journalists hearts. He also now has the biggest defensive dud in the premier league who cant be dropped because of his massive wages. For QPR to be as bad as they are, with that squad, is unforgivable.

Do you guys think an article on budget alternatives would be helpful? These alternatives may not necessarily be the better option, but they definitely allow for cash to be spent elsewhere or for you to obtain "cover" at a lower price if on a budget...AAAA's post sorta sparked the idea and thought it would be interesting. A nice way to evaluate these alternate options myself by writing.

All the ones I have so far are in midfield 😆 Hard to think of FWD ones with most teams playing one up front. Only one I can think of there is Ulloa-Vardy, but not that much of a price difference.

A repost from the DZ for anybody who may have been following it..

    OOP..not really..but they are.

I'll do it a bit earlier this week. The list of mids who played further forward than their respective strikers (avg position) and how they did for pts this week. Familiar names once again (mostly) from familiar teams

    Eriksen (11pts)
    Siggy (10pts)
    Sterling (5pts)
    Lamela (2pts)
    Bolasie (2pts)
    Ozil (2pts)

Spurs, Swansea and Palace once again coming up with the picks whilst Soton's Tadic was slighty further back this week Ozil something of a newbie to the list (pants)...

    Worth mentioning

Hazard (11pts) and Chadli (6 pts) remained right on the shoulder of the striker after frequent visits to the list....also..and significantly...After being last weeks furthest forward for United ADM (13pts)this week split RVP and Falcao for advanced avg position to make a mockery of his publicised starting position....again.

    1. Tim Canterbury
      • 14 Years
      11 years, 6 months ago

Is this becasue the striker is deep or becasue the mids are forward?

      1. Dr Dream
        • 13 Years
        11 years, 6 months ago

In the case of Spurs and Swansea the mids push on ahead of the striker who plays deep in an attacking four..So Siggy, Dyer and Routledge often frequent the list and Chadli, Lamela and Eriksen for Spurs...Meanwhile Bony and Ade are playing closer to the centre circle on avg..(Bony actually played a bit higher this week)...Bolasie on the other hand just goes out on a limb and plays very high as does Tadic...

Subs: Mannone, N Taylor, Boyd, Wisdom.

Not nailed on - but a fan favorite who will see a lot of game time

Hi Davies, I'm looking to possibly get Schlupp in - is he a rotation risk? Thanks.

Oh, and I'd probably go Forster.

Yeah, he's a rotation risk. As Nige has shown previously, he doesn't care who he drops and next to nobody is safe - especially the versatile ones (Schlupp).

Hi Davies. Are Leicester fans called MoLeicesters?

Do you think Baines will rise in price more than 0.1 until kick off ?

No. He should rise 0.1 though.

The thing I like about ADM is he's a massive differential in UFPL and gets enormous hauls. Has 50 points already and that's without baps.

          Nice Doos!

My turn, Ivan ---> Tomkins Pelle ----> Kun

          OR

Keep my team Kunless but with Ivan and 2FTs next week.

My guess knowing Doos (not knowing him at all) would be for Naylor

So I decided to freshen things up and hit the WC button. I didn't really have to, but the team just felt stale and I wanted Di Maria and Hazard. Can anyone suggest how I may be able improve, particularly in defence?

        Mannone / Guzan

        Clyne / Chambers / N. Taylor / Wisdom

Sterling / Hazard / Di Maria / Sigurdsson / Wanyama

        Costa / Aguero / Welbeck

Get rid of Chambers & Wanyama

          Maybe for Robertson & Obertan

Imo thats a relatively template team, why don't you get Kun as a differential since you used your WC, and downgrade one of your mids if you have to?

What to do? I think I need Costa now, a few points ahead at the top of my work league at the moment so can afford a few transfers I think.

        Mannone (Krul)

Baines - Clyne - Dier (Wisdom, Duff)

Di Maria - Downing - Fabregas - Tadic

        Aguero - Ulloa - Pelle

        2.1m in the bank.

        One way would be:

        Ulloa > Costa
        Tadic > Sig
        Baines > a 4.6m defender

        Worth it?
