As we brace ourselves for the second international break of the season, our Sunday members regular delves into the Gameweek 7 data. United’s record signing, City’s in-form frontman and Swansea’s resurgent striker are amongst this evening’s topics, as we also analyse the recent displays of a number of favourably priced midfielders across the last few Gameweeks.

Posted this earlier, but I think that it's worth repeating:

    Di Maria's first 5 games: 43 points
    Costa's first 5 games: 42 points

    1. rickardinho
      • 11 Years
      11 years, 5 months ago

DiMaria also played against burnley, QPR, leicester, WHM, and EVE. He won't get an easier run all season.

Costa played three of those teams too.

      2. Ludo

Costa also played Burnley, Leicester and Everton in his first five. Swansea at home and City away were the other two, so that's one difficult fixture for Costa (in which he blanked) vs none for Di Maria.

fair enough. Costa could have scored even more though, whereas i think ADM got abit lucky with some of his output. you can argue it both ways i guess, thats just my perception.

Sure, I agree with you on that. But I think it's worth highlighting just how exceptional ADM has been, especially when you consider how Costa's start had him universally deemed as completely essential.

    De Gea, Gilks
    Terry, Pieters, Taylor, Hutton, Wisdom

So my plan of going without Aguero and going for Welbeck with Ivanovic and Baines instead of Aguero and two mid priced defenders worked. One point better off. If Baines had of scored that penalty a lot more points better off.

Aguero is obviously a great player but other people are keeping up with him. Berahino and even Chadli have outscored him.

If you have him already then great but I wouldn't personally overall your squad to get him in, he is far from essential in my eyes.

He only plays half a season, is injured for the other half. Just trying to talk myself away from him. If he keeps it up and stays fit i might have to get him in.

also he has had tough fixtures and is only now fully fit. City have had a slow start in terms of goals scored, they seem to be finding form and think Aguero is just gonna get stronger and stronger.

i am happy having him. wouldn't go without him and no one else i would want instead of him at the moment. also have costa and pelle

His injury record puts me off, i half expected him to have been injured by now anyway.

I do sound like a daft troll, he is possibly the best player in the league but i am happy to wait on him for now, a goal a game is not doing too much damage as daft as that sounds.

Ozil has been absolutely brutal this season. ADM could easily notch against Chelsea and City, he's in an attacking side and he's just a world class player. But fair enough on not fancying it for a hit.

I feel Pelle and Welbz could be up and down and give you a lot of headaches this season and neither of them are captain material...

Buuuuttt, the rest is pretty darn good. That mid 4 and back 3 should be good most weeks

Arsenal lead the league in yellow cards. No wonder with their antics today. could quite easily of had 3 sent off

A good DM would probably cut down on those cause there wouldn't be so many desperate late challenges.

Wenger would probably deny that all day though. Stubborn twonk

PVA -> Bertrand a good transfer going forward?

Saints have some cracking fixtures and Bertrand looks prime for attacking returns also

Surely nobody picked up Welbeck and thought he was good enough to start against Chelsea right?

makes it even worse if it's a sign telling me I shouldn't have played my wildcard! 🙂

    Would you WC this:

    Vito | Krul
    Cahil | Berty | Duff | Dummett | Yoshi
    Cesc | Schneiderlin | Siggy | Sterling | 4.5
    Costa | Kun | Naismisth

    1 FT, 3.2 ITB?

Maybe only a Schneiderlin upgrade this week.

It would be a shame to use it just to sort out defence and Schneiderlin.

What would you do with this team?? I came in the top 20k last year, but I cannot get in the top 1m this year.

    Forster Myhill
    Clyne Ivanovic Koscielny Dier Duff
Siggy Ramsey Di Maria Silva Larsson
    Pelle Costa Ulloa

    2FT 0.1ITB

Im thinking Ramsey and Dier> Jagielka and Lallana

Not a bad team. You've too much spent on defence. Too early to get Lallana and Everton are stoll conceding Jagielka will bring few attacking returns. Maybe Ramsey to Fabregas/Hazard and Dier to a 4.5 defender. 3 Chelsea isn't bad when they're in this form
