Regardless of positions and prices, which pair would you rather have? I am currently on A and have Tadic...

    A) RvP and Mane

    or

    B) Cahill and Rooney

B all the way. RVP looks shot for some reason. If LVG had the balls he would drop him and start Falcao and Rooney up top

Swap Cavani with Remy and I am fine with it. Although there is really no reason why Aguero should start - Dzeko as a lone striker or even Dzeko and Jovetic up top should get the job done against CSKA.

    @Diva if you're still on

I've been following the price change sites for the last couple of weeks and anyone over about -80% will fall in the next couple of days. Costa was at -84% and increasing rapidly, which made me think he was one of the more likely fallers.

Thanks Billy. I've been trying to get a sense of the math going on behind the scenes, and based on what I thought I knew the Costa drop seemed far, far too quick. It puts a whole new complexion on the trade or not question if a high ownership player with added value (like Costa, Siggy, Fab etc if you got them early) were to be out for a few weeks. The question now is what is the threshold for the second drop in a Gameweek...

      1. Billy Gilmore
        • 13 Years
        11 years, 5 months ago

I imagine Costa's drop was rapid as he's only got the lightest of flags. Rooney's was slow as he was instantly red flagged.

I think your 60k estimate is a bit low too as his NTO would've started last week. I think it'd be nearer 100k

            • 11 Years

Costa was flagged Friday and had just over 6,000 out between the price change times at Friday 2.45am and Saturday 2.45am. He had more than 3,000 NTI the day before and there's no reason to assume he had NTO in the days between then and his last price rise on October 12. If anything, I expect his NTO prior to this drop was below 60,000 from the point of his last rise. 😯

              • 13 Years

His ownership was 82k lower than peak ownership at the price changes

About 70k less than when his price rose, so that seems a reasonable figure. Very low indeed.

Yes, I guess transfers between Saturday 2.45am and the GW deadline could explain the difference between our figures. As you say, it seems very low (for a player with his level of ownership).

Ah, OK. Still, something seems to have changed this season. Even without a flag I would have expected an NTO of more than 200,000 would be required for a drop on a player with his level of ownership.

    Currently:

    Forster (Eliot)
    Bertrand, Baines, NTaylor, Wisdom, Duff
    Schneiderlin, Fabregas, Sigursdon, ADM, Hendo,

I think that's a good option. More points in your squad is usually a good thing, it gives you options when weeks like this with no Costa happens. You just have to accept that it might lead to benched points at times.

I VCed Sakho this week. I bought him gw 5. Think the steam is about to run out against Man City? Fixtures are Stoke and Villa after. Time to drop?

Cant help but feel Sakho has been very fortunate with some of his scoring. Valencia is a vastly better player but you cant argue with Sakho's fantasy points output. Ive been thinking his luck will run out for several games now but then thought the same thing about Yaya last season.

    My current team:

    Foster (Mannone)

    Baines, Bertrand, Chambers (Naylor, Moore)

    Di Maria, Sterling, Siggy, Downing

    Costa, Aguero, Pelle

I'm thinking of doing Naylor -> Hutton to free up the funds to get Chadli in for Downing.

Downing (who has City at home) has impressed me over the last few weeks but I'm still not sure whether I should get Chadli (who was Newcastle at home).

    Thoughts?

Anyone considering Berahino as a third forward...? Nice fixtures and form...or too risky ?
Would enable to upgrade your fifth midfielder or defense and makes rotation possible, which could be of value if some of the template players are rested or injured...

Does look a decent option but I find it hard to look beyond Aguero/Costa/Pelle/Welbeck at the moment. It is pretty crazy that 4 out of the top seven forwards have a price of below 6 though.

This doesn't really help illuminate NTO required for high ownership players who have risen a long way before they start to drop on a flag (if that does indeed change things), but maybe this says something about the NTO needed for flagged super-high ownership players to drop once they are at or below their starting price?

Aaron Ramsey NTO this season >730,000
    Price below starting price: 0.2
    Price below peak price: 0.3

Wayne Rooney NTO this season >1,060,000
Price drop below starting price (and peak price): 0.3

We were only good when it didn't matter. Pre-season then the dead rubber 😆

The only time I randomly picked the xi 😆

It was fun anyway though I doubt I'll be a captain again

    Hi all,
I think it may be time to ditch DDG!

    Best replacement with this lot?

    DDG,
    Wisdom, Clyne, Naylor
    Di Maria, Mane, Sterling, Siggy,
    Aguero, Welbeck, Costa

    Subs. Gilks, Chambers, Cahill, Marney,
    1 ft- 0.4 in account..

    Forster I'm thinking.
    Anyone else?
Can be short term enough as havent played WC yet.

      I thought I'd go for 30k to 80k, only went to 60k

But my brother fell alot, he had a huge gameweek, this gw has saved his season he fell 60k to 114k.

While the pages are moving slow, I'd like some thoughts on this.

Best way to get Aguero in to this team? 1 FT, 0.0 ITB

    Forster
    Ivanovic Clyne Baines
    Fabregas Di Maria Sterling Sigurdsson
    Costa Pelle Welbeck

    Elliot Moore Caulker Albrighton

Would involve losing both Costa and ADM I think.

I was thinking Eriksen and Aguero in for Di Maria and Costa. When I type it out it doesn't look so great though.

Costa and Ivan out. Or Di Maria to Eriksen

It will be pretty hard to break into top 1k this year

Last year come January it was basically full of casuals and the 2nd half of the season was really a stroll in the park going from over 100k to top 1k.

Apart from maybe pelle can't seem to recall anything surprising. Nearly all highly owned players were expected to be there pre season

I think there's still some differentials to look out for. I would get rid of di maria for hazard if I had him.

Lamela has been terrible so far, but if he gets form and learns the premier league maybe in the second half he might be a surprise.
