This week’s trio of overlooked alternatives offer an option in all three outfield positions. Everton’s fit-again full-back is joined by a couple of options from Tottenham and Swansea who are starting to show signs of the form that made both players must-haves in the second part of 2013/14.

Seamus Coleman

Back in the Everton starting line-up last weekend after recovering from injury, the right-back wasted no time in reminding us of his attacking sensibilities. Coleman’s strike against Villa took his tally to two goals, an assist, a pair of clean sheets and a single bonus point in just four starts for the Merseysiders this term.

Whilst Leighton Baines has deservedly earned plenty of new owners on the back of some superb displays down the left, his fellow full-back has remained firmly under the radar as a result of a stint on the sidelines. Sitting in just 5% of FPL sides, Coleman – who was rested for the midweek Europa League trip to Lille – pays visit to a Burnley side with just two home goals in the first four in front of their own fans so far.

After that one, the Toffees face Swansea, West Ham, Sunderland and Hull in the subsequent five and if Coleman can continue to rack up the points at both ends of the pitch, it won’t be long before he’s rivaling Baines for our affections once again.

Wilfried Bony

Fantasy royalty in the second half of last season, the Ivorian has found himself amongst the also-rans in a sluggish start to his second year at Swansea.

With just a single assist in the first six matches, Bony dropped down to 8.2 in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game before notching in back-to-back matches in the last two Gameweeks, as he starts to finally rediscover his form.

Up next for the Ivorian is a plum home clash with Leicester this weekend before a tricky run of fixtures (eve, AR, mcy) which is likely to deter many from investing. It’s worth noting, though, that Bony netted against all three of those opponents last season – indeed, eight of his 17 goals arrived against the top eight teams, highlighting the fact that, when he’s on form, the 4%-owned frontman can deliver the goods regardless of fixture.

Oscar

With Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard for company in the Chelsea midfield, the Brazilian’s had his work cut out to impress us. Slowly but surely, though, Oscar is becoming an increasingly influential player for the league leaders, with a 13-point haul against Palace last weekend underlining his Fantasy potential.

The 8.3-priced midfielder has now delivered two goals, a pair of assists and four bonus points in his last four starts for Jose Mourinho’s side, with a series of display that are strengthening his chances of a regular starting berth.

Named in the Blues’ XI in four of the last five now, Oscar has produced more shots inside the box (eight) in his last four appearances than any other midfielder, offering a real threat as Mourinho’s men square up to United’s obliging backline on Sunday. With home clashes against QPR and West Brom in the subsequent three, allied with a visit to Liverpool’s dodgy defence, the 3%-owned South American may well be worth considering a value route into the league leaders’ attack.

Who do you think will be the one player to 'turn up' this weekend?

I'll go first, i reckon this is the week Welbeck brings in a monster haul.

Whom to Bench from this lot:

    Tadic, Fab, Sterling, ADM, Siggy
    Welbeck, Pelle, Costa

I'm playing costa, so it has to be one of the others. Currently on Welbeck (i think sundurland will tighten up after last weeks thrashing)

I ended up like this because I couldnt decide between Siggy/Tadic during the last few weeks, so ended up getting both.
It did pay off last week though with Costa getting subbed out. But I'll be changing in 2 weeks when Southanpton fixtures turn bad.

Spain's National Doctor Dr.Juan Cota has responded on Mourinho's claims that Diego Costa picked up an injury on international duty

I didn't even say it was an injury or a problem. It was a very minor hassle that is very common in every professional footballer. He didn't even asked for a treatment and he didn't required a scan or anything similar."

But when questioned whether that hassles in the groin increased after playing the two games, Garcia Cota said: "No. He was replaced in the second half just because he had already score."

Spain NT Dr. Juan Cota: Costa indeed was treated by the physios [like every other player] & didn't have any limitation to exercise

      Key Quote...

“I don’t protect a player before a Manchester United game unless he cannot play. If there’s a chance to play, Old Trafford is not a place to protect players. It’s a place to put players out who want to play and are ready to play. If he’s ready to play, he plays. He has to show in training on Saturday morning that he’s capable of playing. He has to train without any limitations, to make a complete session with the other guys without any kind of protection.”

One thing to add to that, there was a quote from Mourinho after the Everton game which emphasised Costa's desire to put himself at risk and play for the team. I'll have to try to dig it out.

          http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/competitions/premier-league/11095650/Jose-Mourinho-salutes-Diego-Costa-Chelseas-old-fashioned-scoring-sensation.html

Just to be clear, this is a quote from Mourinho after Everton, some weeks ago. Still, it offers insight into Costa and the fact that Mourinho risked him then...

“I tried to rest him, I tried to be sure. To be 100 per cent sure, but he goes on. He is a fantastic character. If the injury is a clear injury of course he will not play, but when the doubt is there and he has not the best feelings, but he feels he can play, he goes on.”

Of course, in my view, this quote was Mourinho covering for the fact that Costa was fine all along and he was playing up the injury 😉

Looks more likely that he'll start than at any other time in the week. I'm comfortably on the fence at 50/50 now. Interesting that those convinced that Mourinho was playing mind games earlier in the week now think he's telling the truth - and those that were sure he was playing a straight bat in midweek now think his latest quotes are mind games. Whatever happens he's fooled us all, but has he fooled the Dutchman with the big forehead?

Mark, what's your plan then... now that you have been priced out of the move you mentioned in the Scoutcast? You have to use at least one FT, right? Will you shed some light in the preamble?

      Jose to English translator:

"He has no chance" -> "he will play"

"He has a little chance to play" -> "he's not playing"

I think some have 2 FTs for next week and can use one to get Costa back with a small profit along the way

Lads, do or die for me, as my friend and I have this tournament of our own. Winner's picked after every 10 weeks. Last gw for me, 5 points off 2nd and 10 off the leader in the group.
    Current team is

    Courtois
    Clyne Dier Chambers
    Sigurdsson, Cesc, Sterling, Silva
    Welbz, Costa (C), Falcao

    bench: Wisdom, Hutton, Marney

1 free transfer, what should I do?

    Cheers.

    Naismith > Aguero
    ADM > Lamps
    DDG > Guzan

All to get Aguero in tbh. 4 point hit. Crazy cow?

    Foster (Myhill)
Baines (VC) - Luis - Bertrand (Yun - Dummett)
Sanchez - ADM - Tadic - Gylfi (Boyd)
    Aguero (C) - Costa - Sakho

    Cheers!

I would probably go Hazard, Chadli over ADM and Gylfi, but might go either way as always.
