This week’s trio of overlooked alternatives offer an option in all three outfield positions. Everton’s fit-again full-back is joined by a couple of options from Tottenham and Swansea who are starting to show signs of the form that made both players must-haves in the second part of 2013/14.

Seamus Coleman

Back in the Everton starting line-up last weekend after recovering from injury, the right-back wasted no time in reminding us of his attacking sensibilities. Coleman’s strike against Villa took his tally to two goals, an assist, a pair of clean sheets and a single bonus point in just four starts for the Merseysiders this term.

Whilst Leighton Baines has deservedly earned plenty of new owners on the back of some superb displays down the left, his fellow full-back has remained firmly under the radar as a result of a stint on the sidelines. Sitting in just 5% of FPL sides, Coleman – who was rested for the midweek Europa League trip to Lille – pays visit to a Burnley side with just two home goals in the first four in front of their own fans so far.

After that one, the Toffees face Swansea, West Ham, Sunderland and Hull in the subsequent five and if Coleman can continue to rack up the points at both ends of the pitch, it won’t be long before he’s rivaling Baines for our affections once again.

Wilfried Bony

Fantasy royalty in the second half of last season, the Ivorian has found himself amongst the also-rans in a sluggish start to his second year at Swansea.

With just a single assist in the first six matches, Bony dropped down to 8.2 in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game before notching in back-to-back matches in the last two Gameweeks, as he starts to finally rediscover his form.

Up next for the Ivorian is a plum home clash with Leicester this weekend before a tricky run of fixtures (eve, AR, mcy) which is likely to deter many from investing. It’s worth noting, though, that Bony netted against all three of those opponents last season – indeed, eight of his 17 goals arrived against the top eight teams, highlighting the fact that, when he’s on form, the 4%-owned frontman can deliver the goods regardless of fixture.

Oscar

With Cesc Fabregas and Eden Hazard for company in the Chelsea midfield, the Brazilian’s had his work cut out to impress us. Slowly but surely, though, Oscar is becoming an increasingly influential player for the league leaders, with a 13-point haul against Palace last weekend underlining his Fantasy potential.

The 8.3-priced midfielder has now delivered two goals, a pair of assists and four bonus points in his last four starts for Jose Mourinho’s side, with a series of display that are strengthening his chances of a regular starting berth.

Named in the Blues’ XI in four of the last five now, Oscar has produced more shots inside the box (eight) in his last four appearances than any other midfielder, offering a real threat as Mourinho’s men square up to United’s obliging backline on Sunday. With home clashes against QPR and West Brom in the subsequent three, allied with a visit to Liverpool’s dodgy defence, the 3%-owned South American may well be worth considering a value route into the league leaders’ attack.

Is there is a need to wildcard?

I feel like Pelle,Baines and Tadic are going to keep going up in price

    Forster / Myhill
    Clyne / Bertrand / Chambers / Moore / Bruce
    ADM / Sterling / Siggy / Fabregas / Bentaleb
    Costa / Aguero / Welbeck

How is this for a WC team?

    Foster - Guzan
    Baines - N.Taylor - Hutton - Wisdom - Duff
Tadic - Di Maria - Fabregas - Sigurdsson - Boyd
    Aguero - Costa - Pelle

The only thing i´m worried about is doubling up on WBA and Villa defense/keeper with the combos of Foster & Wisdom and Guzan & Hutton. But 0,0 in bank with this team. So my options are Moore or Dummett. But I reckon Moore will not get many points and Dummett is not a certain starter..

I'm actually passing up on making a transfer, even with 2FTs - pretty sure that's a first and possibly the most dullard, ultra conservative move possible.

It sounds odd but I just can't see a move without risk unless I sell Costa. Toyed with Foster > Forster but I reckon the Baggies man will start and I could do with not having to make a future GK trannie to get the funds back.

This happened to anyone else, post WC?

I looked at that but I think I want to keep Schmeichel for a future 2GW spell where Foster is up against it.

If I was sure on McCarthy starts from now on, I would but I reckon Green will be back in.

There are options but I have to think about the fact I want Mane in for Siggy so I need 0.5 for that.

If I make a move this week, that would likely force me to use 2 next week to get Mane.

If you factor that in, I can't see a move this week that seems worthy. Particularly if Costa plays - the bench doesn't even come into to it.

FWIW, I reckon Foster to Forster is a great move. Forster is looking like a long term option for me, have him for the good fixtures and stick it out through the poor ones and take what I can. Rotation doesn't work for me, and with players like Foster or Krul, I always know they could lose out on points against the worst of teams. If they were to play QPR, or Burnley for example, I wouldnt be confident they could return a clean sheet. Forster however, I feel good having both him and Bertrand in my team as the chances of a CS are very likely, and a chance of attacking returns from the latter.

I can't keep Forster though - I really want Mane in for Siggy next week so I'd have to free up funds next week to do it.

I did think about keeping Forster as my one-stop keeper though and do away with rotation. That would still force me to sell a keeper next week to fund the Mane move, though, thus using up my 2FT's.

Ideally, I want to be able to bring Mane in next week and carry 2FTs to GW11.

I call this the transfer fidget. I think this is one of the hardest parts of the game, when your team looks decent enough but you feel compelled to make a transfer anyway, as inactivity always feels wrong! Despite the fact that it is a perfectly valid choice! But for some reason most of us feel a compulsion to use it.

This is particularly true when you have 2 FT and risk losing one – do you make a vanity transfer? Or try and force this issue, but its harder to see a transfer when the margins are slim on its likely benefits.

I did this for GW3, had no obvious transfer. I wanted Liverpool coverage for their upcoming games and Costa was a doubt. Ended up doing Costa to Sturridge to get ahead of the curve... and the rest is history. 5 Goals in next two GW's

Siggy owners what are you doing with him after this GW? Keeping or selling? The next 3 fixtures are not that difficult if you ask me. Everton away Arsenal at home and City away. Everton and Arsenal are conceding a lot of goals so I can see Siggy returning points in both games. It seems to me the fixtures difficulty is being based on last season's results which is deceiving. My only worry is the City game. After that he has 2 delicious home games with Palace and QPR. I am keeping.

Chance of Naismith starting? I want Aguero in but need to drop ADM to do so.

I don't get the Tadic bandwagon, take his haul off last week and he's no where. Or have I missed something?

Didn't realise we played City next week, so over those 2 games it should pay off. Might be a good time to play Newcastle with Cisse looking doubtful

On the basis that he'll either start or get a decent chunck of time off the bench (doubt he will come on for 5 mins) it's not the worst option

Choose your VC carefully. Should not be ADM, Sterling etc

    Thoughts please;

    Krul / Mannone

Clyne / Janmaat / Jags (Bardsley - Illoris)

Chadli / Fabregas / Obertan / Siggy (Larson)

    Costa / Pelle / Aguero

Used my FTs, got 2.2 in the bank. Not happy with bench should Costa not play but seems daft to take a hit for a benchwarmer? And who to play in nets, Krul or Mannone

Need my defence sorting next, incl keeper

Surely Baines a better bet. Coleman relies on goals from open play.

I tend to think so. But that is not a guarantee that goalman wont outscore Baines in the long run. I just picked Baines for safety reasons and comfort.
