This week’s attempt to get the better of Paddy sees us call upon the services of West Brom’s young goal hero, while we also turn to the Tottenham and Everton midfields ahead of clashes with Newcastle and Burnley respectively.

West Brom’s home encounter with Crystal Palace brings Saido Berahino into our thoughts this week. The youngster’s goal against Man United last Monday took his tally to five strikes in four appearances at The Hawthorns this season, and with the Eagles set to be without both their first-choice centre-halves this weekend, he looks poised to get amongst the goals once again. Paddy are offering a hefty 18/1 on Berahino to score twice and the Baggies to keep out their opponents and we’re willing to shell out £3 for this one.

Next up, we head to the Lane, where Tottenham prepare to take on Newcastle. We’re backing the in-form Christian Eriksen as Spurs look to recover from their Etihad mauling – the Dane has scored three times in the last five, and with Paddy prepared to offer 8/1 on Eriksen to score and the hosts to chalk up a clean sheet, we’re making this our bet of the week and hand over £4.

Finally, we place our faith in fit-again Ross Barkley as Everton roll up to Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon. As the treatment room empties, the Toffees are starting to find their domestic form and face a Clarets side that have leaked nine goals in their last three. Paddy are offering 8/1 on Barkley to score and an Everton clean sheet and we’re convinced enough to part company with our final £3.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Can't believe how much luck this game involves.
Aguero scores 4 and is big differential, Costa injured and they get easy swap.
In top of that this idiotic price drop/rise system probably allows them to get Costa back cheaper than they sold him.

    So Costa -> Pelle (-4) ? 🙂

Yeah that Costa (C) to Aguero (VC) was a kick in the stones, particularly as a non-Costa owner... sooooooo many people got lucky with that

Now I can never bench Tadić again.

I don't begrudge you those points as you were right to captain Costa over Tadic. It's the owners who captained Costa over Aguero that I feel are luckiest, even though you ended up scoring more from it. In my opinion, they were wrong to captain Costa over Aguero and that's why they were lucky.

i have bring in aguero...costa out....costa was costing me so much money plus i fear aguero to do the same thing as previous week.....though it took me -4 to do that but i think players i have brought in will recover.

If I'm gonna take a 4 point hit would it be madness to swap in Pelle over Aguero (as in I either bring Pelle in or I bring Aguero in) if funds aren't a massive issue.

Captain choice for this week is fascinating.
Many good candidates this week and no super clear front runner:

Siggy - home to Leicester - always capable for double digits at home, especially against bad defence
Sterling - home to hull - great stats, should explode at some point - but team is on iffy form...
    Pelle - form and fixture
Kun - away game and slight game time questions prevent him from be the clear front runner

Besides them there are some nice punts - tadic, Baines, even eriksen.

    Who is your captain?

My TV never somehow seems to rise.

When there is a Costa to rise, there is an Austin/Eriksen to drop.
When there is a Sterling to rise, there is a Davis to drop.

Now when Aguero and Tadic rise, Costa drops.

This way, I'll never have the cash I want by January.

Yeah, obviously. But you're still better off having points on the board and a little less money to spend in Jan... rather than waste points taking hits to increase TV, in order to buy more expensive players in Jan with no guarantee that they'll outperform the slightly cheaper options. Definitely Profit < Points for me

Well, both your keepers will concede, however I would play Mannone because he has a far better chance of earning save points, and last week's 8-goal fiasco was a fluke IMO.

I definitely would trade Chambers up for a quality starter using your £0.5 ITB. Kaboul (TOT) is a good option at £5.0, or better yet, get Taylor (SWA) for £4.7. I would also consider Dawson (WBA) at £4.6.

Otherwise your team looks pretty good.

Personally I don't own Aguero, and don't plan to wreck my team to get him at this point. I do own Pelle and Baines though, so I guess if that's who you want, I would have to say trade Aguero for Pelle (yes, I said it) and eventually trade Wilson for Baines.

At the current rate of sales Costa drops again tonight, Scary huh he 20% of the way there already in 4 deadzone hours

What i cant understnd is why he has dropped so fast compared with Rooney and Mata
Is itbecause wild card sales didnt count? Now hardly anyone selling on a wildcard all sales are counting against him

I think it has something to do with the initial ownership. Costa started at an ownership of about 40%. Then he rose to 68%. Therefore the range between 40% - 68% is the 'volatile range' where the threshold is low. But once it drops to the initial ownership (40%) the threshold will rise and the rate of price drop will reduce. Rooney and Ramsey started at about 40% ownership and did not rise much throughout, ie. little or no 'volatile range' which meant when they were ruled out their prices would not drop at a fast rate.

    Which two to bench?
    A) Wisdom (CRY)
    B) Hutton (qpr)
    C) Terry (mun)
    D) Chambers (sun)

    Captain?
    1) Pelle
    2) Agüero (brought him in for a hit so a haul as a captain would be nice but I'm slightly worried about his gametime)

    Thanks!

First of all, you MUST captain Agüero if you brought him in for a hit. Principles, man, principles.

Definitely bench Chambers and Hutton out of those four, unless you think Villa can keep Vargas out, then I'd bench Wisdom.
