The season could barely have started brighter for Raheem Sterling after the youngster grabbed two goals and an assist in the opening three Gameweeks for Liverpool. With Daniel Sturridge sidelined ever since, however, Sterling has struggled to replicate his early form, scoring just once and earning a pair of assists in the subsequent six Gameweeks.

Despite a weekend showdown against Newcastle on his agenda, Sterling is the most sold player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, with over 65,000 owners parting company in order to acquire the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Dusan Tadic and Cesc Fabregas.

In our second members article of the week, we take a look at his displays with and without Sturridge on the park in order to ascertain just why he’s failed to deliver.

    How close West Ham were last season to sacking Big Sam and now look at them. I think it goes some way to showing that to many teams dispense with their managers services to easily and if given a bit more time they would be better to leave them in charge.

    On FF transfer matters, who would you keep between Fabregas and Sterling? I'm thinking Sterling because of his goal threat, but Cesc keeps ticking over with those assists.

      I'm no closer to a transfer either. Whenever I think of selling Sterling I get an uneasy feeling that I'll be punished, but Sanchez and the Chelsea mids are so tempting.

          Feels like I've taken a gamble when I didn't have to, in quite a good position and don't need to be chasing points , but with those 2 fixtures im hoping double figures from both of them , it was for --4 too, I needed Hazard for Chelsea cover (had no Chelsea ) so the -4 boils down too Sanchez vs Sterling +4

            Very similar situation myself. I can do S+S to Fabregas and Sanchez (-4) as I have no Chelsea cover either, but Sterling could potentially do very well against Newcastle...

              I'm thinking but more hoping Liverpool are at the beginning of terrible run that will leave Rodgers under huge pressure by December , just not scoring enough , it just felt right , Sanchez is actually scoring too, all the other high owned mids are just assisting, only problem is Costa is seemingly back early , if the gamble don't pay off im stuck with Berahino for a few weeks , so it's a big weekend for me with no Costa and those transfers I done , it could be a 40 point swing either wey

    I have Schneiderlin sat as first bench in case Costa doesn't play. Once I get a bit more confident about that he has to go to put some money into that defence. Kind of wish I could have Sanchez or Hazard too but only have 0.3 and 1 transfer

    Problem is

    Dont trust Welbeck with the band
    Fab is too not explosive enough
