The season could barely have started brighter for Raheem Sterling after the youngster grabbed two goals and an assist in the opening three Gameweeks for Liverpool. With Daniel Sturridge sidelined ever since, however, Sterling has struggled to replicate his early form, scoring just once and earning a pair of assists in the subsequent six Gameweeks.

Despite a weekend showdown against Newcastle on his agenda, Sterling is the most sold player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, with over 65,000 owners parting company in order to acquire the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Dusan Tadic and Cesc Fabregas.

In our second members article of the week, we take a look at his displays with and without Sturridge on the park in order to ascertain just why he’s failed to deliver.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Sterling & Siggy -> Sanchez/Hazard and Jedinak for a -4 worth the hit?

Already have Welbeck, and already have Fabregas.

Or Downing worth it more over Jedinak?

Def Downing over Jedinak. Jedinak is a defensive mid and Downing has the best stats for a mid creating chances except for tadic.

Who's the better option: Sanchez or Hazard, considering the other players I have from their sides?

    -------------------- Guzan ---------------------
    ------- Moreno // Baines // Clyne --------
    -- DiMaria // Sterling // Tadic // Siggy --
    ------ Aguero // Pelle // Lukaku ---------

    Elliot // Wisdom // Duff // Marney

I have 1FT and 0.5m in the bank

    What do people think about..

    Siggy > Oscar*
    Moreno >Dummet

Worth it for a bitta Chelski coverage?

I wanted Oscar too but he played 90 mins against Shrewsbury... An early sub this weekend looks likely, and he's no guarantee to start next week against Liverpool.

Hmm Spurs are so inconsistent, that's the problem. I own Chadli and it's quite frustrating, when you expect points from the Spurs mids they rarely deliver.

Eriksen is in good form though and has good fixtures and set pieces so he still is a good pick. I probably wouldn't go with him myself though, he's in an awkward price range.

Yeh I'm would be hoping they find their feet if I go with Spurs mid..
I am kinda a fiend for a set piece so that would sway me towards Eriksen over Chadli/Lamela.

If only I had some Chelsea/Arsenal players Id be much happier

I would hold steady with this team. Moreno > Chambers if anything - Newcastle high on confidence at the moment while Liverpool is not.

Chambers good value and Arsenal at home against Burnley? High chance of cleanie.

Alright DZers I'd love some opinions on this, it's the last time I'll be asking so all opinions would be greatly appreciated.

    A) Sterling and Fabregas
    B) Sterling and Hazard
    C) Sterling and Sanchez
    D) Sanchez and Fabregas (-4)

I have Welbeck and no Chelsea players fwiw...

    Cheers in advance!

    Krul
    Baines Clyne Chambers

    Costa Aguero Pelle

    Elliot, Wisdom, Marney, S.Taylor

    1 FT, nothing in bank

Popular picks at the moment are Sanchez and Hazard I guess.

    A) Sanchez - would need to be for a hit likely involving shifting 2 of Sterling/Tadic/Costa
    B) Hazard - Straight swap with AdM
    C) Save
    D) Anything else?

I would say Save...but Arsenal has a tempting fixture this GW...If you have Costa..Hazard IMO is not essential...but I think this team will also do well..you have a balanced team

Thanks Moin. Am pretty happy with the balance - there are plenty of good picks, but I'm hesitant to chop and change too much and spread the wealth too thin.

Hopefully Chambers is enough Arsenal coverage. Leaning toward saving...shall be watching the games from behind the couch.

I wouldn't well ADM, I reckon he'll get something in the derby and then he has good fixtures. I'd probably save, because if you want Sanchez for Sterling there aren't many good cheap replacements for Tadic. Unless you fancy Downing?

Thanks Innsie. Yeah, but you know...spend enough time on FFS this week and you would think Sterling and di Maria have suddenly become Marney and Tiote.

Had Sterling from the start it's in my mind to start thinking of shipping him out, probably work in Sanchez somehow.

    Have Haz, Siggy and ADM

    Transfer Dilemma:
It is one of the weeks where I might regret transferred out player.
    Begovic(WHM)
    Clyne(hul)-Chester(SOU)-Baines(SWA)
    Di Maria(mci)-Sterling(new)-Tadic(hul)-Siggy(eve)
    Aguerro(MUN)-Costa(QPR)-Ulloa(WBA)
    4.0-PVA(cry)-Boyd(ars)-Taylor(eve) 2FT- 0.0 In The Bank

Weaker links are Begovic,Sterling,Siggy & Ulloa. Can't find any replacement for Siggy at similar price & don't want to lose others this week.
That way, I am leaning towards Di Maria ➡ Hazard. Hazard has been one of the best players on the pitch but rarely returns the points deserved for his value.Hopefully, QPR is the fixture to mark the avalanche.

None of them tempts me honestly.

I think Costa isn't enough cover for QPR at Stamford Bridge, while Di Maria will drop deeper with Rooney in the hole & it's Man City at Etihad.

ADM has Palace at home next week and 3 easy home games in 4, Hazard has Liverpool away, it changes week to week.. Id just want United coverage over those 4 games is all, each to their own

Many have traded Ulloa for Berahino. Downing is the real deal, no returns these last 2 but he has incredible stats.

          Downing vs Fab

          Key Passes 23 vs 19
          Chances Created 26 vs 27

Only difference is the assists and thats because Fabregas is feeding much better players.

Man City just lost to Newcastle at Etihad.

One thing that ADM doesn't do very well at all, and thats defend.

Lot of mentions on Sanchez here but I'm not sold yet.

Theo will be the Aesenal player I will be bringing in. So, don't want to waste my transfer here.

Burnley at home looks like tasty fixture but they can shut the shop and make the life harder at Emirates, since Arsenal aren't in great touch I won't be surprised with a boring 0-0 .

Think he'll do well against Burnley but otherwise agree. Theo much better value post-break.

Sanchez is the real deal. It will take Theo a month or two to get back up to the pace of the league and the injury may have ruined his main asset, pace, to some extent.

“I have to give him [Walcott] competition slowly in the next three or four weeks. His runs off the ball are fantastic and it always gives you hope that you can score goals. The pace we have in the side when he’s back is very impressive because Welbeck, Alexis and Oxlade-Chamberlain are also very quick. Could the attacking pace frighten defences? Let’s see. My imagination works like yours but I have to prove that they can work together on the pitch and that’s what I’ll try to do when everybody’s back. I don’t know if Theo will play against Burnley. We dropped points at home unexpectedly against Hull and that¹s why we have to focus on winning the Burnley game before I can plan giving Theo some competition.” - Wenger

Sanchez is the Arsenal midfielder to get. What I don't understand is this site was all over him at the start if the season having not seen him play. Now with a few games played, some form and goals, people aren't sure. Go figure

Ppl assumed he was brought in to be played as a striker and that was his main draw preseason.. now he's a great bet but just as good as Wally when fit is the thought process

No. It's because a world class player was coming to play for one of the most attacking teams in the league.
