The season could barely have started brighter for Raheem Sterling after the youngster grabbed two goals and an assist in the opening three Gameweeks for Liverpool. With Daniel Sturridge sidelined ever since, however, Sterling has struggled to replicate his early form, scoring just once and earning a pair of assists in the subsequent six Gameweeks.

Despite a weekend showdown against Newcastle on his agenda, Sterling is the most sold player in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game, with over 65,000 owners parting company in order to acquire the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Dusan Tadic and Cesc Fabregas.

In our second members article of the week, we take a look at his displays with and without Sturridge on the park in order to ascertain just why he’s failed to deliver.

    Couple of weeks ago Costa was the most essential player in this game. Suddenly people say to themselves that Hazard covers his points so Costa is not needed. Did Hazard even assist one of Costa's goals? Same people say that they are afraid of having no Arsenal cover. Lets be honest. You are afraid of not having Sanchez this week. If you just want Arsenal cover you can just go ahead and buy Wilshere or something.

      Yes. When you have Arsenal and Chelsea with great home fixtures and Aguero on this form captaining a player from a mid-table team away isn't really going to work that often. Probably a bit harsh on Soton to call them midtable but I don't see them finishing in the top 6 come the end of the season.

      I like the Everton Double up in Defence, Worked really well for me last year. Team looks good otherwise too.

      Captain Ageruo or Pelle. For me Pelle is in great form at the minute. Scored two last night, and hit the bar twice last week. Think i'll be picking him.

      Genuinely not sure what Pardew will do with the CB situation. Williamson was definitely ahead in the pecking order but in his absence S. Taylor hasn't done a great deal wrong. Dummett is the safer option, albeit Haidara poses a bit of a threat to his place but that's less likely to happen than Williamson ousting S Taylor.

      I'm just waiting for the R. Taylor wagon to get motoring - he had a good 90 minutes last night 😉

      I'd probably do B in your situation, DDG has got decent fixtues 3 of the next 5, hopefully he'll get some save points against city. Unless you want him out in order to bank some cash?

      Moreno out sounds good - I'd consider Kaboul given the fixtures and the fact I reckon he's got a goal in him sooner or later but Spurs haven't exactly been reliable recently. If anything I'd consider going for a cheapy and having the money to upgrade elsewhere if you decide you need to - Duff perhaps?

          Sounds like a good plan - I was quite sold on the Spurs defence until Newcastle managed to pop a couple past them. Possibly a lucky escape for me.
