Jack Wilshere is a big doubt for Arsenal’s home clash with Burnley, who welcome back Dean Marney into midfield. West Ham’s Diafra Sakho is in with a chance of lining up against the Potters. Brendan Rodgers rules out Jose Enrique against Newcastle, who themselves could be without forward Papiss Cisse. Sadio Mane is set to return to training as he bids to prove his fitness ahead of Southampton’s KC clash, while the FA rescind Federico Fernandez’s three-match ban ahead of Swansea’s trip to Everton.

Arsene Wenger is “quite confident” Kieran Gibbs will overcome a hip problem in time for tomorrow’s visit of Burnley. The Gunners boss expects Jack Wilshere to miss out with a “very, very short-term” knee problem, whilst he also went on to confirm Theo Walcott is “not completely ready” and won’t start against the Clarets.

Sam Allardyce has revealed that Diafra Sakho is “touch and go” for the weekend, after injuring his shoulder during the win over Man City. Allardyce confirmed the Hammers will monitor the forward’s condition before Saturday, whilst James Tomkins and Matt Jarvis have recovered from their injuries and will make a return to the squad.

Jose Enrique will miss the reunion against former club Newcastle, with Brendan Rodgers confirming that the defender has an issue with his knee. The Reds boss has also conceded he expects Daniel Sturridge to remain sidelined until after the next international break, before talking up Fabio Borini’s prospects ahead of the Magpies clash and also hinting at a change of tactics for the weekend, after mainly operating with a 4-2-3-1 in Sturridge’s absence.

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has rated Papiss Cisse “touch and go” as the striker bids to overcome a knee problem in time for the Liverpool clash.

Reports in the local press indicate David Silva will miss the next three weeks with a knee problem sustained against Newcastle in midweek. Manuel Pellegrini is expected to clarify the situation in today’s lunchtime press conference.

Sean Dyche has received a boost ahead of the trip to the Emirates, with news that midfielder Dean Marney is back in contention to face the Gunners after recovering from injury.

Sadio Mane is a doubt to face Hull as he bids to overcome an ankle injury picked up last week. Ronald Koeman has announced that the winger is expected to be part of the travelling squad on Saturday, should he come through training this morning.

Federico Fernandez will be available for Swansea’s trip to Goodison after successfully appealing the red card he received in the midweek cup exit to Liverpool. Elsewhere, midfielders Gylfi Sigurdsson and Ki Sung-Yeung are both back in training ahead of the Toffees test

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Need some help with my team guys please :

    Starting 11 :
    Speroni,
    Baines, Dummett, Fonte,
    Sigurdsson, Fabregas, Schneiderlin, Sterling,
    Berahinho, Aguero, Pelle.

Bench : Myhill, Diame, Steven Taylor, Bruce.

1 free transfer and 3.7mil in the bank.

    What you guys think ???

Defo getting Sanchez in I think, and thinking of either Hazard, Oscar or Costa.
Is Costa set to start ??

If Hazard will have to make 3 transfers, getting rid of Sterling and maybe Sigurdsson...

      Impossible to predict as almost all of them have played in different positions so far this season, but I'd like to see;

      -----------------Arteta------------------
      --------Wilshere---Ramsey-----------
      -Walcott---------------------Sanchez-
      ----------------Welbeck-----------------

      With Giroud/Ozil still to return.

Giroud is a straight swap with Welbeck, but when Özil is back he´ll play in the hole with Wilshere to drop or does Sánchez move there and Özil goes to the wing?

        1. The Finnisher
          • 14 Years
          11 years, 1 month ago

I think Sanchez only played in the hole because Wilshere and Ozil were both missing. Only time Ozil would be on the wing is in a 4-1-4-1, in which case one of Walcott, Giroud and Sanchez would drop out but we are yet to see if Wenger will move back to a 4-2-3-1 when everyones fit, as he should do.

Never made any sense to me playing Özil on the wing, but seen it done a few times, but now with 2 fast wingers in the equation would be a bit madness to play Özil on the wing, Ox was left out of this chat but i guess like me you see him as a super-sub?

            1. The Finnisher
              • 14 Years
              11 years, 1 month ago

He's playing well at the moment but when Sanchez and Walcott are fully fit there isn't a place for him on the wings. He can play CM, CAM, RM and LM though so should get plenty of game time if (when) injuries hit.

With the money you have may need to take a bit of a punt as your are priced against the popular options.

Gareth Barry. Not done much so far (1 assist) but had a habit of popping up with a good score last season from time to time....just dropped to 4.8...

Boyd, IMO. I went with Jedinak and not satisfied with him so far.

2 FT's this week. Took a gamble with Barkley on the cheap...
    Sterling, Chadli > Eriksen, Barkley

    Krul
    Chambers, Baines, Clyne
    Eriksen, Chamberlain, Fabby, Barkley
    Costa (C), Aguero, Welbeck
    --------------------------------------------
    Elliot, Siggy, Wisdom, Moore.

Reckon I should shake up my bench?

I think benching Siggy could hurt you.

    ADM+Chadli to Sanchez+Diame for -4?

    Foster
    Chambers - Dawson - Clyne
    Siggy - Sterling - Fab - ADM
    Berahino - Aguero - Costa

SUBS: Gilks - Chadli - Wisdom - Duff [0.4 bank]

I have always seen man city as the one team you don't need to start from to score points, it actually seems that some players score better from the bench than from start

Interesting point, but is that not just skewed by Agueros super cameo hauls?

Probably, but other forwards did it a lot last year, lampard has done it this year
Even Milner himself when he has came on

      I did that.
On the Whole though, Aguero apart, having starters from city is not really paying off.

This season he may be a crucial player for Pellegrini. tempted to consider him, as 5th mid though.

      http://www.fourfourtwo.com/features/how-james-milner-went-being-fringe-player-focal-point-manchester-city

and "Four of City's five losses this season happened when Milner started as a substitute."
