With the first Manchester derby of the season set to take place later today, Paddy Power are rolling out a tempting offer for those yet to register an account. With City set to welcome United to the Etihad this afternoon, our bookmaker mates are offering odds of 5/1 for Manuel Pellegrini’s men to arrest their recent poor form and grab a win or a massive 14/1 on Louis van Gaal’s emerge victorious:

If you already have an account with Paddy, though, you can still take advantage of a Money Back Special. Paddy will refund all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score & Scorecast singles on the match as a free bet if it ends in a draw.

To clarify, both the City and United enhanced odds special is limited to a £10 stake, open to new Paddy Power customers only and subject to the terms and conditions specified. New customers can only opt for one of the two offers.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Apart from away at Chelsea and away at Everton (where he only played 45 mins), Sanchez has got attacking returns in every PL game that he has started. This stat is what convinced me to get him in and captain him against Burnley.

I must admit the Arsenal game this morning was the first time I've watched a whole Arsenal game this season, and boy was I impressed with Alexis. His ability to turn and beat a man was world class, he had a few good chances and fed Welbeck with a couple of perfect passes, his work-rate is excellent too. Now that he's settled he's going to be FPL gold... Go without him at your peril.

Yea he is a very shifty player, prob his best asset. Don't think anyone can question his work rate. What is crazy is his improvement over the last 2-3 years. He keeps getting better and better. Being at Barcelona with Messi and Neymar did him very well. I just pray that he stays healthy, I thought his physique would be a problem for him in England but so far he's exceeded expectations.

I think Wenger messed up at the beginning by sticking him on the left side where he's never been comfortable. The Ozil injury helped him because now he is free to roam wherever he wants, and he excels in that role just behind the fwds as a #10 basically

he is more suited there but he really did hurt their passing game early on. Giving the ball away often catching his own team mates out of position. What he was in doing in the final was gold from the word go but had some tactical issues. Similar problems at barca too

    Krul (Schmeichel)
    Baines, Kaboul, Chambers (Wisdom, Colo)
    Sanchez, Hazard, Eriksen, Siggy (Boyd)
    Aguero, Pelle, Welbeck

Did Sterling to Eriksen (been a long-term admirer) before the price changes.

1 FT left, 0.7m in the bank. Any changes required? I'm thinking Welbeck to Austin next week which will allow Pelle to Rooney the week after once Soton's fixtures get tough.

How do you figure? Think there would be many that disagree with you. Just curious as to how you come up with that decision.

Its hard to judge top to bottom as a fan. La Liga has always been about Real Madrid and Barcelona and then the rest. EPL seems to have more consistent teams. Alexis himself admitted that EPL was tougher than La Liga and he actually plays in it.

The BPL is by far a better league. If you were to make a list of the top players in each league, you'd more than triple the number in La Liga. It's not even close. BPL is also the most exciting and drama packed league in the world. That's why we all play this game and have a website like this dedicated to it. You don't see that to this extent with any other league.

Did Sterling to Eriksen (been a long-term admirer) before the price changes.

1 FT left, 0.7m in the bank. Any changes required? I'm thinking Welbeck to Austin next week which will allow Pelle to Rooney the week after once Soton's fixtures get tough.

      Wisdom>Chambers
      Sigurdsson>Downing now

but with mid-week games I'll be smart and hold off. I'm still bitter about Chambers 🙁

The problem with waiting on mid-week games is that you get burned on the prices. Casuals don't care about it and end up getting the cheaper prices. It works more than it doesn't to pick up early. I don't know what the stats are, but I'd guess that it would be a very low percentage of "hot" players that get hurt in the mid week games that get picked up beforehand. It's worth a chance to pick up early if you don't have the extra cash to wait. People who wait for Sanchez this week, will end up paying at least 0.2 more than people who picked up today.

I got Sanchez early last week on perfect cash. Worked nicely in my favor. And I'm confident nothing with happen to Downing and Chambers midweek. It's Aguero I'm worried about. Let's see what happens tomorrow. Thanks for the insight.

      Hello DZ!

Thinking of captaining Baines next week. I have Costa and Aguero, so is it crazy to give the armband to Leighton?

I know the "conventional" Baines wisdom of never bench, never captain, but I bristle when someone on her says "never do this" or never do that". To me, all ideas/strategies are on the table.

      Thoughts anyone?

Aguero v QPR could be fun. QPR's CBs are slow and if City counter it will be gameover.

Dunne looked pretty good today, from what I saw. But you're right, Aguero is a different kind of striker to Costa. More speed and movement. Also, Aguero can turn and shoot from anywhere in a flash.

          Thanks for the feedback ,AA

You know, I actually rarely ask for advice. But I agree, should be taken with a grain of salt. There are posters on here every week blaming people for talking them out of this move of that, and then that player scores big. Nobody's fault but your own, nobody makes you do anything on here.

That said, it's nice to get another perspective from time to time.

      Southampton defender conundrum

Southamptons fixtures are about to stiffen up significantly, most players have one or more of clyne, bertrand and foster, so how do you plan to deal with this.

      A) keep, form over fixtures, and difficult to buy back later.
      B) cash in for
      1) gibbs (attacking fullback, top 4 side, great fixtures)
      2) chambers ( as above but cheaper)
      3) jones ( all action bonus point whore, top 4m good fixtures)
      4) upgrade to azpi/mangala
      5) someone else

Im leaning towards jones as i already have chambers, azpi. Also think united will stiffen up defensively at some point.

keep them as long as you can. They will keep increasing in value and just reevaluate once you see them play City, Arsenal etc etc. Southampton defense is the best in the league right now, much more solid than Chelsea. Even Mourinho would admit that.

Interesting that most say keep. The form is there, but for the same price you shuffle over to a top4 defender quite easily.

My defence is very strong right now, i cant recall a time in the past 8 seasons when it has been so.

        Baines clyne azpi chambers wisdom

Perhaps bench rotation is the best way forward

Downing has a couple of prolific FPL years when he was at Boro. Not many seem to remember that.

Liverpool seems to be the graveyard for many english players

The million dollar question for me.

I have a plan to get him after the international break if still fit but getting Sakho instead gives so many more options,
