Sergio Aguero grabs the match-winner against United as City win a fourth straight Manchester derby. United’s worries at the back continue as injury and suspension hit Louis van Gaal’s side. Nacer Chadli grabs his fifth of the campaign and Harry Kane stakes a claim for a starting role as Spurs come from behind to get the better of Villa.

Aguero Wraps Up Win Against Rivals

Sergio Aguero took his tally to ten for the season with the winner against Man United in the Manchester derby. The Argentinian now has seven goals and eight bonus points from his last six appearances in a run of form that has seen him emerge as an ‘essential’ pick right now. Notably, the City striker’s goal yesterday came in a week that saw the likes of Diego Costa, Graziano Pelle and Saido Berahino all blank, allowing him to open up a five-point lead at the top of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) forward standings. Aguero still has ownership under 25%, though with City set to roll up to Loftus Road next weekend, that level of interest is surely set to increase over the coming week.

Derby Day Blues for United

The 1-0 loss to their local rivals was the first time in seven outings that United have failed to score, as Louis van Gaal’s start to life at Old Trafford continues to stutter. Angel Di Maria now has just one assist to show for his last three and has lost ownership in each of the last two Gameweeks, with the current of form of Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez proving too tempting for many. However, United have three excellent home fixtures in their next four (CPL, HUL, STO) and Di Maria will have the chance to rediscover the form that saw him collect three double-figure hauls between Gameweeks 4 and 7.

Defensive Concerns Build for Red Devils

Attack is certainly likely to be the best form of defence for Van Gaal’s outfit, with their problems at the back showing no sign of abating. Rafael was injured in training prior to yesterday’s encounter, whilst Marcus Rojo dislocated his shoulder during the derby and is looks certain to miss the Crystal Palace clash this coming weekend, according to his manager. With Chris Smalling also suspended for that match after a catastrophic red card at the Etihad, and the likes of Jonny Evans and Phil Jones struggling with injury, Van Gaal is likely to have to stick with the partnership of Michael Carrick and Patrick McNair at centre back next weekend – it’s now no clean sheets in the last six for United, and a makeshift backline are sure to have their work cut out in turning that defensive form around.

Chadli and Kane Stun Villa

An inspiring comeback in the last ten minutes from Mauricio Pochettino’s side saw them clinch a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa, with Nacer Chadli netting his fifth goal of the season and substitute Harry Kane scoring his seventh in his last seven appearances late on. With Erik Lamela sacrificed to the bench as Pochettino opted for a front two of Emmanuel Adebayor and Roberto Soldado, and Cristian Eriksen hooked off at the break, Chadli looks the one regular Spurs player worth owning right now, as his eight-point haul at Villa Park took him up to fourth in the FPL midfield rankings. Kane, meanwhile, is yet to start a league match, though his manager has hinted post-match that he deserves more minutes. Spurs have decent fixtures ahead (STO, hul, EVE, che, CPL) and the 4.8-priced Kane may well be afforded further opportunities to show his capabilities across that schedule.

Villa Losing Streak Continues

Problems are mounting for Villa right now, who are without a win since Gameweek 4 and will now have to cope with star striker Cristian Benteke, who is suspended for the next three after being dismissed for violent conduct. Andreas Weimann scored his third of the season against Spurs – and his side’s first goal in 547 minutes of football. The schedule ahead is decent enough for the Austrian (whm, SOU, bur, cpl, LEI), but with morale so low amongst the Villa ranks, he is still unlikely to rival Diafra Sakho or Berahino for our affections in the budget forwards bracket.

    Eriksen -> di Maria

At least di Maria is nailed on for 90 mins.
Two blank GWs may mean a fall in price.
And after only 1 goal in the last two, I expect Man U to score a few over the next month.

He was benched, came on for the last half hour. Pretty sure it was just precautionary as they didn't really need him and Long had just scored midweek so a good chance to give him another start. Pretty sure he'll be straight back in this week.

Made my transfers early. Did Hazard+Wilson>Sanchez+Saylor for free. Didn't get Yun as I needed him for gw 11 and 12 when Saylor has better fixtures.

    Team now-

    Krul - Hamer
    Baines - Clyne - Naylor - Saylor - Moore
    Sanchez - Fabregas - Mane - Sigurdsson - Marney
    Costa - Aguero - Pelle

Anything worth a hit? Got 0m in the bank. Really worried about not having ADM. 🙁

Welbeck is not scoring regularly to justify his price tag though, Sanchez' the main at Arsenal.
Sakho has scored a goal in each game he has played, against big teams too.

I honestly don't expect too much from Welbeck (as a 7.4M) striker. He got really unlucky not to score this weekend. I think I'll bring Sakho in the next, next week depending on Giroud's progress.

The idea was to get ADM for Sanchez after my one week punt on him. But seems madness to sell Sanchez now. I do have Costa at present who isn’t convincing me.

    Thoughts?

    1) Costa + Shawcross > Aguero and 3.9/4mill defender (-4pts)
    2) Costa + Chadli > Sakho and ADM
    3) WC
    4) Save. Ride out a week and get Aguero for free after international break as selling Costa for a hit would be stupid. Could then keep Costa and sell Bera/Pelle instead
    5) Shawcross > Cheap defender to create cash

It's a nasty position to be in but they can pay off, just got to make the right hits.

I took a -4 last week. The players I dropped picked up 4 points. I brought in Sanchez(c) 32 and Jedinak to play tonight.

Doing Welbeck>Sakho this week could easily be a backwards move. Not worth my FT. Might consider it in the future.

Considering it frees up funds, I don't think it's backwards. Sanchez or walcott in a few weeks is the best route into arsenal attack, albeit more expensive.

I agree, it's great to free up funds but keeping an extra FT (when you really don't need to use it) could be more useful than having a few extra million in your bank laying around for a week or two.

Sakho is a great pick for this gw.

Villa have been crap lately and Sakho is very high on confidence.

I like A, as long as Sakho's g2g this week. Sanchez could be 10.8 by Sat tho, so gotta be wary of not being able to afford him soon. Sanchez & Oscar does sound good too. Feel like I'm starting to sit on the fence.

    Hi Guys,

In desperate need of some help here. This is my team:

    Krul Elliot
    Baines Clyne Wisdom Hutton Moore
    Adm Cesc Siggy Tadic Marney
    Aguero Costa Pelle

    2FT 0.1 ITB.

Looking at ways to get Sanchez in, and don't know whether its worth downgrading any of my strikers. I definitely want to keep Adm, other option is getting rid of cesc but that seems risky?

Or do i just get rid of Moore and save the other transfer?

    Thoughts?

    Many thanks

If Sanchez goes on a run of three blanks is his price likely to fall, or will people hold on due to easier fixtures and wanting returns on investment
Just wondering if it is worth getting now in case he goes so high it isn't worth getting him

It's an interesting question. I think it would be very harsh to drop Sakho. I pray that his shoulder injury doesn't halt his momentum. I'd just advise you to monitor to situation as Carroll will eat into his game time I reckon. I'm not sure how Carroll will figure in BFS' plans. Him and Nolan seem like plan B Now.

So, now that most people own Sanchez, what are you planning when Walcott is back? Can anyone enlighten us on what they think Wenger's first XI will be? I've been waiting for Walcott's return all season, but I really don't want to ditch Sanchez, and is doubling up on their midfield too much? Will they impact each other's game time?

The thought of Sanchez on one wing, Walcott on the other, and Ozil in the middle is mouthwatering, but Wenger's been talking about "balance", so he might be reluctant to play both.
