Our Monday regular is rolled out again this afternoon, as we scour the Premier League treatment rooms to assess those players who picked up injuries over the weekend action.

Arsenal
Jack Wilshere has been ruled out of Arsenal’s midweek Champions League clash with Anderlecht due to illness, Arsene Wenger confirmed earlier today.

Everton
Antolin Alcaraz is set to be sidelined for an extended period of time after he was forced off early on during the weekend goalless draw with Swansea. After the match, Roberto Martinez went on to say:

“He has damaged the joint in his shoulder. We’ll assess it but he could be out for a long spell. We’ll help Antolin all we can and try to help him back before the second half of the season.”

Hull
Centre-half Alex Bruce missed the Tigers’ 1-0 home defat at the hands of Southampton with a hamstring injury. Earlier today, Steve Bruce rolled out an update on the defender’s likely period of absence:

“Alex got injured in training on Friday, one of the last kicks of the session. It’s a hamstring but we don’t think it’s too serious. It’s probably going to be two, three or four weeks.”

Leicester
Leonardo Ulloa was utilised as a sub as the Foxes suffered their first home loss of the season against West Brom on Saturday. After the 1-0 defeat, Nigel Pearson explained his reasons for benching the Argentine:

“He had a groin problem, which we had scanned last Sunday. It was a case of not really wanting to risk him from the start today. I don’t see that as being anything negative. He was on the bench and had no problems afterwards. It wasn’t worth the risk to start him.”

Manchester City
Eliaquim Mangala missed yesterday’s Manchester derby due to a hip injury, according to reports in the local press. Aleksandar Kolarov was originally named in Manuel Pellegrini’s starting XI but picked up a problem during the warm-up and was replaced by Gael Clichy.

Manchester United
Rafael was absent from the Etihad showdown after picking up an injury in training, United’s official twitter account has confirmed.

Marcos Rojo looks set for a stint on the sidelines after being stretchered off with a shoulder injury midway through the second period. After the match, Louis van Gaal admitted:

“”His shoulder is out. We don’t know how long that will take. I have to wait until Monday. But he shall not play against Crystal Palace, I don’t think.”

Newcastle
Gabriel Obertan could be set for a spell on the sidelines after being stretchered off with a thigh injury against Liverpool on Saturday afternoon. After the 1-0 win, Alan Pardew admitted he fears the worst:

“The only real big problem we had was losing Obertan which was a big blow as he’s been outstanding. It looks like he’s got a bad injury and we’re all really disappointed for him.”

Pardew also revealed he withdrew Papiss Cisse at the break as he reckoned the striker was still suffering the effects of a recent injury:

“I just felt that Papiss wasn’t moving quite normally. He has got this irritation on his knee – he thought he was OK, I slightly disagreed with him and we’ll probably still disagree on that, but only in the right possible way.”

West Brom
The Baggies left-back Sebastien Pocognoli was subbed off towards the ends of the weekend win at Leicester through injury.

West Ham
Winston Reid was forced off early with a thigh problem during the weekend draw at Stoke, though Sam Allardyce confirmed post-match that the injury “wasn’t too serious”.

I can afford Sterling -> Sanchez, if I did it now I'd have 0.1 left over, I want to wait til the CL games tomorrow (and maybe Wednesday too), but obviously I won't be able to afford it if they both fall/rise in price tonight.

    What should I do?

Sterling fell last night, unlikely to fall again tonight (only 1 fall left this week)

      Sanchez likely to rise tonight

If I had gotten maximum points from my captain, I'd be in the top 100.

If I had gotten 50% more points from my captain, I'd be in the top 1000.

I've had 59% of my highest possible captain score, is that good or bad?

I was lucky , did Moreno Fab> Tadic Baines just before the haul +30 points , and did Sterling Siggy > Sanchez Hazard last week for another +30

    Begovic
    Baines, Clyne, Chester (Coloccini, Moore)
    Hazard, Sanchez, Tadic, Downing
    Aguero(C), Pelle, Welbeck

Everything in order here? Chester in front of Colo right? Used my FT already.

he was away and still nearly scored 😉

His away form isn't great, but he cost me 5.6 if he only scores at home that'll do me, makes him benchable away

No particular reason other than I can't afford him. Might end up doing Welbz-->Sakho and Pelle-->Costa in coming weeks, but for now I'm happy to go without. He's not as explosive a goalscorer as most make out. He's just consistent, so a good player to have, but hugely detrimental to go without imo.

Admittedly had some cash in the bank but quite happy at this despite being -4

Probably should have waited until after CL but could n't help myself.

The only game Studge-Balo-Sterling played in was Spurs 0-3. All 3 were brilliant. The signs are the there but it will take time. Sterling looks a better prospect in say, 2 gameweeks Tim's.

Doesn't matter..the 0.1 does though. It would be my route into Baines Haz ADM Aguero Costa and Sanchez.....If Kane rose by just 0.1 then I can do Kane > Austin....which would be fine with his fixtures and form.

You might as well wait. Away to swansea and home to united might slow his output.

Look to lose Ivanovic. Chelsea not keeping CS and he is too expensive to hold for occasional attacking returns.

Erm, start Naylor (over Chambers) since Swansea is good defensively and playing at home.

If you have Burnley/Leicester etc then think twice about playing them (even at home) over defenders from bigger teams.

              Does that make sense?

Against the bigger teams, Willian/Fabregas will play in the hole and Ramires/Willian on the right and Oscar benched. But shouldn't happen enough to be a worry now that he is in good form. All players get rest every now and then, that's why we have a bench

    A. ADM

Yep. I would say one of Costa or Fab. Like you said all others are captain material, so it has to be Fab.

Might make sense to hold on as Swansea away will be a tough game for Arsenal. If you want to avoid the hit. That said, Moreno has to go.

If you are doing well otherwise Arsenal next 2 games are tough so you can wait and monitor.

To fund Sanchez, I had 2 options:

    1. Tadic -> Moses (Already had Downing & Chadli too expensive)

    2. Pelle -> Sakho

I ended up doing 2nd option: Sold Pelle & kept Tadic. (main reason being Moses' fixtures and Tadic will be involved anyway if Pelle scores, Penalty & PKs for Tadic even if he won't get many)

but, I now got such a bad feeling about this. Anyone think it was the right transfer?

I'm in the same boat. Currently pondering taking an 8 point hit to get him in, even though I don't think he'll score particularly well over the next few.

He's so consistent though. Not captain material, sure, but you just know he'll end up in the dream team at the end of the season.

For me minilegue is more important den overall rank

Just concentrate on your overall rank. I find if you finish in or around the top 1k the mini league will take care of itself.
