Our Watchlist rankings, which offer player recommendations over the next four-to-six Gameweeks, have been updated over the last 24 hours.

There’s little movement between the sticks, with Southampton’s Fraser Forster holding on at the top ahead of clashes with Leicester and Villa before the schedule toughens in Gameweek 12 (MCI, ars, MNU). West Ham’s Adrian is positioned just below the former Celtic stopper and, at 5.0, is an emerging prospect with some excellent home encounters to come (AVL, NEW, SWA, LEI).

Tim Krul is the week’s main climber, having only conceded once in his last three. The Newcastle keeper’s appeal is slightly dented by the number of strong budget options in the Magpies’ defence, though, with Paul Dummett and Steven Taylor the standout options at just 4.1 and 3.9 respectively.

Meanwhile, Swansea’s Lukas Fabianski and West Brom’s Ben Foster are ones to watch, with both facing four home matches in their next six.

In defence, Leighton Baines’ grip on the top spot remains unchallenged – the left back has averaged 9.6 points per appearance over his last three and faces a string of good home matches in the upcoming weeks (WHM, HUL, QPR, STO). Ryan Bertrand remains in third, though is under threat from the climbing Aaron Cresswell, whose attacking threat and plum fixture list have seen him emerge as a superb differential option in recent weeks. Calum Chambers is also still in our top five after his huge 18-point haul against Burnley, though Arsenal do have some tricky fixtures to come, including clashes with Man United and Southampton in their next four.

Further down, Man City’s Gael Clichy has been added as a new entry with his starts looking assured now that Aleksander Kolarov is set to be sidelined for at least a month. At 5.3, Clichy offers managers a cheaper alternative to Vincent Kompany in a backline that faces QPR, Sunderland and Leicester in their next six. Steven Taylor (3.9), QPR’s Yun Suk Young (3.9) and Spurs’ Kyle Naughton (4.3) are new entries in the budget bracket, with the latter looking set to cement the right-back role with Kyle Walker seemingly out of action for the foreseeable future.

As with the defence, there’s no movement at the summit of our midfield rankings – Alexis Sanchez remains the clear leader, having notched double figures in each of his last three appearances, whilst Dusan Tadic and Angel Di Maria also hold their places in the top three.

It’s all change below them, however, with the out-of-form duo of Raheem Sterling and Gylfi Siggurdsson dropping down the standings, despite Liverpool’s (CHE, cpl, STO, lei, SUN) and Swansea’s (ARS, mci, CPL, QPR, whm) decent schedules. Stewart Downing is the main beneficiary here, climbing up to fourth after his 13-point showing for the Hammers last time out.

Chelsea’s Oscar is the new name amongst the upper echelons of the rankings, replacing team-mate Cesc Fabregas thanks to his current form and more budget friendly price tag of 8.3. Owned by just 4.1% of managers in FPL, the Brazilian has tallied three goals and an assist in his last five, and looks a great asset amongst the Blues’ ranks right now, though the explosive Eden Hazard remains the preferred option. Another factor in Fabregas’ omission is that he sits just a single booking away from a one-match ban.

The quartet of Wilfried Zaha, Chris Brunt, Moussa Sissoko and Ross Barkley are the new entries – all offer managers potential differentials across the coming weeks.

Up top, it’s the same story once again, with no one managing to topple Sergio Aguero from his seat the zenith of our rankings. Diafra Sakho does, however, move into second, with his form and fixtures making a mockery of a current 5.8 price tag. The Senegal international takes the place of Graziano Pelle, whose tightrope status and stiffening schedule sees him drop to third.

Charlie Austin, Harry Kane and Steven Fletcher are a trio of new entries and budget differential options. Austin’s current form is bettered only by Aguero, whilst Fletcher has grabbed double figure hauls in two of his last four and comes up against Leicester’s shaky defence in Gameweek 12.

    Lost on last page:

How am I looking? Any hits worthwhile?

    Forster (McCarthy)
    Baines, Clyne, Chambers (Taylor, Moore)
    ADM, Oscar, Downing, Sanchez (Boyd)
    Welbeck, Kun, Pelle

Hoping for green arrow number 10!

i dont understand how people can overlook oscar... Only Tadic, Sanchez, Baines, and Aguero have better "form" than him.. which is the average points per GW in the last 4 weeks iirc. Amazing fixtures coming up too, and he's also 4th in the season total for shots in the box. Not to mention that Jose has praised him to the rooftops several times recently...

yeah i did Siggy>Oscar but the system messed up somehow (or i did rather) so Downing started instead of Oscar. Thankfully Downing got 13 to Oscars 10 so it worked out, but I was panicking for an hour or so until Downing scored!

Wouldn't spend the money on Courtois; I'm sure they'll tighten up a bit, but too much to spend on GK for me. Also unless Kane gets starts, I don't see a cheaper solid forward than Sakho...

i think milner will be the next budget-breakout-mid, following Tadic and Downing. Been looking good statistically for weeks (if not months) now.

If Downing wasn't so damn good right now Milner would be a great 5.5-range option instead

We have a great array of budget strikers. It makes an exit strategy easy if one gets injured/dropped,

      Sakho/Berahino/Austin/Cisse/Fletcher/Naismith/Kane?

I have Cisse and am holding for now. Sakho looks the strongest atm but I'll be monitoring Austin. He does take pens after all. Berahino doesn't have the fixtures.

          Bojan>Naismith>Ulloa>Berahino>>Austin... I got off the budget-striker points-chasing wagon after Ulloa 🙂

Austin is my favourite of the bunch. I'm only considering Sakho/Berahino/Austin though. No confidence Kane will get enough minutes to make him worth while. Normal service resumed for Naismith, Fletcher could have a couple of games form in him. Can't even think of anything to say about Cisse.

I'm planning Welbeck -> Austin next week.

      2. Dr Dream
        • 13 Years
        11 years, 5 months ago

Yeah...I fancy Austin for the next few but as I wrote last week there's an argument to simply pick the one that will rise the quickest. That will keep the maximum number of picks in the game for that cheapie spot..not much between them really in terms of quality.. What do you think GB?

        1. Piggs Boson
          • 14 Years
          11 years, 5 months ago

Stat-wise I think Cisse holds the most promise and has only 0.7% ownership, which I like. If Cabella isn't on the pitch he should get pens as well. But his injury and Ayoze sniffing around makes him risky.

Sakho looks the best pick at the moment if he returns from injury as he left. But Austin looks quality and is one to monitor imo. If QPR improve their form, which looks to be happening, he could be a top pick. Great finisher.

    Ok one final one

I'll be doing kaboul to yun which leaves me with 1 FT to get either one of Di maria or sanchez. I will most probably be getting the other one after the break, so

Di Maria now and get sanchez @ 10.9 after the break OR sanchez now and Di maria after the break

You're captaining Di maria over him though so you'd back adm to score more? Or is that based on the fact that realistically ill be getting sanchez at 10.9 if not now as the break prevents early transfers?

As Sanchez has already risen 0.2 you'd only miss out on 0.1 if he rises again. I'd get ADM, likely to score more this week imo.

So many big hitters playing well this year, (makes a nice change from last season)
    Aguero
    Costa
    Hazard/ Fabregas
    ADM
    Baines
    Sanchez

Pricing strategy appears to have allowed all but one of these in our squads.

I am currently missing Aguero (and terrified about it) because I don't think he offers more value than Costa and Im happy with my budget forwards.

So question is who are you missing out on and why?

I think you can fit all of those in, but your third striker can't really be Pelle. At the moment I don't have Baines, but I'll probably get him in a couple of weeks.

Currently missing ADM and Sanchez but will be buying ADM this week.

Think I've missed the boat on Sanchez for now, prefer Hazard and ADM for the next few games.

Costa at the moment. I guess it has just worked out that way following his injury.

Yep, same. Though I don't think having 2 mid-priced strikers can last. I think the next few moves I make will try to free up money for at least Pelle to Rooney, Costa would be even better. Fab to Oscar is getting tempting in order to fund it.

      Missing Sanchez & Haz/Fab.

Might get in Sanchez (for Sterling) but it means downgrading Pelle to sakho, which I dont want to do this wk, or Siggy to 4.6, which would sound more appealling if obertan wasn't injured

DI Maria Hazard Siggy Chadli (Boyd)

    1FT and £1.2 ITB

Which transfer has the priority? :

    2) Wilson/Duff to Clichy

Sterling and Siggy to Sanchez and Wanyama

    Or

Sterling and Pelle to Sanchez and Sakho?

    Krul Elliot

    Clyne Chambers Yun Wisdom Dummett

    ADM Sanchez Fabregas Downing Boyd

    Costa Aguero Pelle

He'll hoover up the majority of QPR goals as well. Which means that QPR don't need to score many for him to be worth it. I like Austin.

Play 2 defenders or take a 4 point hit to play 3?
