With Gameweek 12 behind us, we look back at the stats that matter in the Sky Sports Fantasy Football game once again. We cast an eye over the Man of the Match (MoTM) awards and bonus point beneficiaries before assessing the Scout team and our plans for Gameweek 13.

Gameweek 12 Man of the Match Awards

Listed below are the players who caught the eye of the Sky Sports reporters from last weekend’s fixtures, achieving the Man of the Match award (worth an additional 5 points).

FixtureMoTM
Newcastle vs LiverpoolFabricio Coloccini
Arsenal vs BurnleyAlexis Sanchez
Chelsea vs QPROscar
Everton vs SwanseaSeamus Coleman
Hull vs SouthamptonVictor Wanyama
Leicester vs West BromSaido Berahino
Stoke vs West HamStewart Downing
Man City vs Man UnitedYaya Toure
Aston Villa vs TottenhamNacer Chadli
Crystal Palace vs SunderlandSteven Fletcher

Alexis Sanchez made it three MoTM awards in a row as he moved to the top of the Sky Sport game with 76 points last weekend. A hard-working goal scorer ticks the boxes for Sky in terms of MoTM as highlighted in our pre-season article and the Chilean’s form is irresistible right now – if you’re not on board already, I suggest you snap him up before it’s too late. Stewart Downing also deserves a mention after his haul at the Britannia elevated him to the second highest scoring midfielder in the game behind Cesc Fabregas – with some tasty fixtures on the horizon and costing just 6.2m, he look another great asset moving forward.

Gameweek 12 Bonus Points

Five goalkeepers achieved bonus points from collecting five or more saves. Ben Foster bagged the biggest haul of the Gameweek, earning saves bonus and a clean sheet to earn a tidy nine points. Robert Green still leads the way for keepers with ten additional points.

In defence, 16 players grabbed bonus, 11 for tackles and five for passes completed – Filipe Luis came closest to earning both, missing out by just a few completed passes. Centre-backs are currently dominating the bonus points, with four all on ten points.

In midfield, there were 20 beneficiaries in total: 15 for tackling and seven for passes. Midfield enforcers Nemanja Matic and Morgan Schneiderlin were the players to earn both and bonus king Schneiderlin now finds himself way out in front on any other midfielder with 24 extra points.

It’s extremely rare a forward picks up any bonus points but this week Connor Wickham, Bojan Krkic and Ayoze Perez all managed to pick up bonus points – a welcome addition for any of their owners.

Fantasy Football Scout members can access all information regarding bonus points using player stats and clicking the Sky Sports tab.

My Team

Fabianski
Moore Hutton Van Aanholt
Hazard Sterling Eriksen Tadic Di Maria
Aguero© Costa

ITB: 0.6m
Transfers remaining: 29/40
Last week’s points: 49
Overall points: 590
Rank: 2,782

Notes
It’s time to try and stop the rot, having slid down the rankings considerably in the last two Gameweeks. Injuries and rotation have somewhat forced my hand and out go Liam Moore, Patrick Van Aanholt, Christian Eriksen and Dusan Tadic for Ryan Bertrand, Andrew Robertson, Rolando Aarons and Alexis Sanchez. A big punt to say the least as Southampton and Hull’s fixtures are ugly but you have to think long term with defence in Sky; hopefully I won’t need to make another transfer in that department all season.

The other massive gamble is on Aarons – to be honest he’s basically an enabler for the red hot Sanchez but I sense he could offer good value at just 3.8m if he’s given the minutes. With Newcastle’s injuries in that department he should get his chance and – providing he recovers from a knock – will hopefully impress enough to take it. Eden Hazard keeps his place ahead of Cesc Fabregas for now, like many I’m still waiting for that ever elusive big haul.

Captain plan
For Saturday my captain is locked into Sergio Aguero, who’s away to QPR and then I’ll swap the armband to my new signing Alexis Sanchez for his clash at the Liberty Stadium the following day.

A reminder that with the international break in Gameweek 14 you can use a free captain swap to set yourself up for Gameweek 15 if need be.

The Fantasy Football Scout League

Once again, we’re running our own Fantasy Football Scout League this season and are currently topping the Private League rankings. With a £1000 prize to the winner, you’d be mad not to get involved. To join, visit Sky Sports Fantasy Football and key in League Name: FFScout, League Code: 8009000.

The Fantasy Football Club

This Friday The Fantasy Football Club show, where you can catch Fenners and Merse at 18:30 SkySports One HD where they will be discussing the upcoming week’s Fantasy Football, quizzing former England defender Des Walker and asking him for his #One2Eleven.

I am taking a hit this or next week, in a good cause.
The question is which scenario should I follow.

    (1) take a hit now for Siggy ➡ ADM move for a hit. Meaning that I'll probably need to skip Aguero, unless I decide to sacrifise Costa for the Argentinian.

    (2) leave it this week and do Clyne & Welbeck ➡ Yun & Aguero for a hit next week. Meaning that I lose Clyne and have no chance for having ADM in my team.

    Which scenario then..?
    Thanks

Need a defender at 4.3 or less, and I already have defenders/keepers from Wba, Burnley, Leicester, Qpr and Newcastle, and I don't want to double up. So is Naughton a decent option? Played 90 min last gw and was rested in e-cup...! Thoughts?

But for that price there's only Lowton who is fit. Is he nailed on now, or will he lose his place when Hutton is back?

Yeah I guess he'll be out when Hutton is back, which will probably be after the break. Sorry bud, can't help! One of the United lads?

              McNair is 4.4

Blackett is 4.3, but we don't know how long he will play....or even if he will play?

slightly negatively. would be hard to play walcott and alexis in a 442

could tweak it back to a 4231 type formation, in which case i think welbeck is the winner again

not easy then... it seems that everything is possible. Surely alexis has to retain his role in the midde tho...

wondering if getting alexis is still a good option or the train hast passed?

Ox and Sanchez played in a 442. Surely Walcott would just play Ox's role.

Ox actually defends, Walcott not so much?

Formations aren't static like some are making out. If you look at the position maps in the members section you can see Ox spends most of his time up the pitch, not in the static RM position suggested by a 442. Chambers seemed to cover him by playing higher. Walcott could do that.

Yeah it's certainly a possibility, just giving the supposed logic behind it. Will be interesting to see what actually happens though.

Wenger has put him in an interior role last year…on a 4-3-3.
Ox its more of a mid than Theo.

Nevertheless i still think that a front line of Theo - Welbeck - Alexis would be lovely.

Alexis is so effective through the middle it may not affect him very much. Wally on the right with some pace will be great

yeah could work also, the thing is you can only have 3 big hitters.
            Currently on ADM, Fabs, Haz

Looking at dumping one of the che mids and getting alexis... or save it and wait for wally and enjoy che good fixtures afer pool

Sanchez and wally have a massive fight on the pitch, insults are exchanged, Sanchez accused of racism, Walcott picks up a thigh injury while kicking Sanchez, both suspended for 5 games.

      Most likely

I had him from the start. Sold him the very GW where Debuchy got injured.

Afternoon gents. Been away all week completely away from civilization without phone signal, TV or internet. Shocked that we only lost 1-0 to Madrid with such a poor starting XI and also very surprised with City result.

But anyway, this is my team (I did Sterling to Tadic on Sunday to avoid price drop and have 1.1 ITB, 0 FT)

    Guzan

    Ivanovic Baines Wisdom

    Sanchez Downing Tadic Siggy

    Aguero Costa Berahino

    (Given, Duff, Moore, Albrighton)

any moves I should do that are worth taking a hit? and could someone fill me in on the situation with Costa? cheers

A bit light in midfield, but still, looks good.
Costa out of Spain squad, will start against Pool.

Hmm. Play Wisdom or Jagielka? Got Foster and Baines in the mix, so I'll have to double up either way.

    Lost in last post:

Start Wisom (Lei) or Sterling (CHE)?

(Reluctant to keep sterling but ideally would like 2 FT next week)

    Any opinions? Thanks

I really believe that Aguero will score big this weekend .. QPR will be looking for a win so they'll go allout attack ,, and aguero will absolutely destroy them on counter

When comparing Cisse and Sakho in the members area, Cisse has more goal threat per game than Sakho despite only averaging 60mins a match. Newcastle also have decent fixtures.

As a Cisse owner, I'm holding this week.

Downgrade a keeper and you can afford it.

Otherwise can you afford Erikssen and sterling to Sanchez and Chadli/Downing?
