Mikel Arteta is ruled out of Arseanl’s trip to Sunderland. Diafra Sakho and Winston Reid are back in training for the Hammers, though Alan Hutton remains sidelined as Villa roll up to Upton Park. Vincent Kompany is a doubt for City and is set for calf scans, Joey Barton is back for QPR as the injuries ease for Harry Redknapp, whilst Gareth Barry is doubtful after picking up leg and ankle issues for Everton in last night’s win over Lille.

Arsene Wenger will welcome Jack Wilshere back into the fold following a bout of illness. He could come straight into the engine room to replace Mikel Arteta: the Gunners skipper is ruled out with a hamstring injury. Swansea host Arsenal at the Liberty Stadium and they’ll be without Jonjo Shelvey through suspension – Spurs loanee, Tom Carroll, will likely get the opportunity to get one over on their north London rivals with a start in the Swans midfield.

Former budget favourite, Alan Hutton misses out for Villa, who mark the now-daunting trip to West Ham without the suspended Christan Benteke. The Hammers are priming Diafra Sakho for action – the Senegal striker is expected to be named in Sam Allardyce’s starting lineup after recovering from shoulder injury. Winston Reid is also available to reinforce the backline against a Villa side with a single goal in their last six.

Neil Warnock will have Damien Delaney back in his squad for the trip to Old Trafford after illness, although he’ll have to do without both Wilfried Zaha who is ineligible and skipper Mile Jedinak through suspension. United will have little sympathy – Louis van Gaal will be forced into fielding a makeshift back four against the Eagles, with Marco Rojo ruled out, Chris Smalling suspended and Rafael a doubt.

Harry Redknapp is cheered by the return of Joey Barton and Jordan Mutch in his midfield, while Nedum Onouha is also back in contention in the R’s rearguard ahead of their Loftus Road meet with City. Vincent Kompany is a concern for Manuel Pellegrini – he’s a doubt with a calf problem.

Gareth Barry is a doubt for Everton’s visit to the Statdium of Light after sustaining injury in last night’s Europa League tie – Everton are also without Antolin Alcaraz with a shoulder injury. The Black Cats also have issues with Patrick van Aanholt ruled out with, you’ve guessed it, another dislocated shoulder. Lee Cattermole also serves his first suspension of the season.

We’ve collated all this and more in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news throughout the day.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

because Aguero is a quality striker he can easily strike 2 goals...Pelle not of that level of Aguero

Exactly. He's been infuriating and letting him go away for a bit was the right idea, especially when LVG thought we'd be playing with wing backs, but now he'd be a great addition.

This only makes sense if we're playing with two wingers, as we only have Valencia and Januzaj. Hardly much depth.

Perhaps. I still think we talk a lot of nonsense. For a site about Fantasy Footie I think theyre actually quite lenient about talking about other topics. Agree that it can be serious at times alright. But it's hard to get true banter going when it's a group of internet friends playing a fantasy game lol Why I liked the Hockey tournament and the likes. Gave us a narrower playing field to rib at other players and make jokes

Ah I knew someone would come back with that. Its always been a FF site though, just more lighthearted. Like I'm not saying its because of the mods. The game's huge now and so is the traffic on here but that just means page after page after page of the same q's. Take this week. Downing & Sanchez. How many times have I read that. Listen, its great for Mark, I'm delighted for him but its sucked the fun out of the game for me.

MCI/ars/MUN will decide the season. If they can keep the momentum going, they'll go into every game with confidence.

And lets face it, with Saints looking so defensively sound, good going forward, and the state of those three teams.. a decent points return is possible.

Liverpool, Spurs, United, Everton.. you'd expect them all to come good. But you guys have got a good head start on them. I'm sitting on the fence. 😀 Ask again once those 3 have been played!

I'd say Bubz has got it spot on. I don't see how you guys can compete with Chelsea, City, United, Arsenal and Liverpool (with Studge) over the course of a season. A lot will depend on European exploits (e.g. who gets knocked out when), but if Everton and Spurs go for it in the Europa (winners get CL), then I can see you finishing above them! 😀 You do seem the real deal... winning games your form suggests you should win.

With current form of both Soton and their opponents, the sky is the limit imo.

Squad depth probably the only thing that will cause them trouble but they have everything in that starting 11, Europa absolutely on the radar and if United, Pool and Spurs don't get their act together soon enough, I think they'll be in the mix for 4th (or at least I'd hope)

😆 Actually though I think ye can nick 5th if ye can take out some of the big boys in the next few games. Chelsea, City, United, Arsenal. After that I think the rest are all beatable. Hell United and Arsneal look shaky enough but I think they'll come good eventually.

    10. A.
      • 14 Years

Anywhere from 6th to 10th depending on luck and injuries.
I'd expect at least an 8th place though, probably behind the usual suspects of the top 7, but it could be better still.

Chelsea will run away with the league, City will sort themselves out to finish 2nd, especially if they go out of Europe early, and Arsenal will manage 3rd/4th because they always do and look less terrible than their rivals.
Of the rest i'd expect United/Liverpool to fight for 4th and Everton/Spurs/Southampton to fight for 6th.
United and Liverpool are managing to both look pretty terrible though, so if they don't buck their ideas up as expected a higher finish could be on the cards.

I think you'll be a bit like newcastle a few yrs ago when they came close to top four, even tho there's more competition now with everton in the mix aswell i think your side is better than newcastle's & with utd, spurs & pool looking a bit rubbish I dont see how it's that unrealistic.

Its all about injuries for them with a small squad at their disposal - are the backup boys good enough?

Without injuries why not top 4 - they have a solid back line, great creative players and possibly at 20 goal plus man up top...

One striker needed to play this weekend. Used no transfers and have Lukaku but worried he might not start and likes of West Ham and Saints got better fixtures so:

    Aguero
    Behranio
    Plus One up to 9.1m

    GO GO GO! X

    Aguero (C) - Costa - Pelle (Vc)

I'm literally in pain when I think about what transfer(s) to make this week...

    A) Bring in ADM (for Sterling) and captain him
    B) Bring in Wisdom and Aguero (for Ivan and Welbeck) for -4 and captain him

If I bring in ADM, then Kun will have to wait until GW 13.

    1. Jebiga
      • 13 Years

Both good options ! Think Kun is priority, because you cant wait gw 13 for him
