As we brace ourselves for yet another international break, we turn to Saturday and Sunday’s fixtures and delve into the data in our first members article of the week. We assess Southampton’s chief creator and main frontman as the points start to dry up, cast an eye over Chelsea’s penalty box predator, Man City’s talismanic Argentine and Newcastle’s recent defensive displays as the clean sheets keep coming for Alan Pardew’s men.

Anybody else planning to go without Costa?

I just can't fit him in my team without getting rid of either Ivan on Baines and I don't want to DG either of those at the moment.

I don't see the need. Will bring Hazard in for Fab soon I reckon though.

Yea I could do that too but I like Fab's consistency, keeps ticking points over every week pretty much. Haz blanks out more.

Haz will kick on at some point. He's scored 200ish points the past two seasons. This season will be no different.

At the expense of Costa? The risk is too high & ceiling too low to have Ivan over him IMO.
Proven goal threat & captain choice vs highly improbable goal scorer w/ a tendency to get bitten during matches. I think the former win by KO,

Obviously apples to oranges, but if Ivan is holding you back. Then you know what to do

He was out wide which means he wasn't getting the ball in the dangerous positions.

I think that when Sturridge is fit, he'll switch to the tip of the diamond. That's when we'll need to get him back in.

Appears he got an assist. Not a proper assist, one of those lay the ball off to someone else who goes on a 30 yard run before scoring assists.

Look at this like a head to head
      Who wins gw12 :
Team A: Bertrand(avl) Tadic (avl) Welbeck (MANU) +8
      Team B: Dummet (QPR) Downing(eve) Costa(c)WBA)

Not v Swans , solid defensively , still fancy Aguero to nick a goal ,but Costa at home to WBA playing for the team that's running away with the league is swaying me, fancy a Costa brace if not a hat trick

        Is Chadli becoming essential?

Every season there's one player I ignore thinking that he's on a lucky spell and they keep scoring. He's that man at the moment.

        What are your thoughts?

Not essential but incredibly good value.

He's over performing relative to his stats at the moment, but even if he quitens down a bit he'll still be well worth having imo.

Leave Chambers. He's a cheap way into a top four defence (even if it isn't a particularly good one) and he's still rising in price.

I'd probably do Pelle + Welbeck > Costa + Austin if you can afford it?

Fab may not play for a few weeks according to reports. You will lose value as he's already being dropped. You can buy back in at a lower price more than likely.

        What is my priority #1?

        A) Begovic -> Krul/Arian

        B) Naylor -> Chambers

        C) Siggy -> Chadli

        My current team: (1FT, 0.3ITB)

        Begovic - McCarthy
        Baines - Clyne - Naylor - Wisdom - Duff
        ADM - Sanchez - Siggy - Downing - Boyd

Should I do Fabregas>Sanchez tomorrow to catch the rises with 1FT and play Sanchez(MUN) instead of Fab(WBA)?

Was planning on saving FT to use on my Saints in GW13, but should probably expedite it to avoid missing out on the inevitable Sanchez rises. Sanchez could well score better against United than Fabregas does against WBA anyways, and I have Oscar as "cover" 😛

Yes you could be priced out of Sanchez if you wait till next week, plus his form means he could quite easily score against United anyway 🙂

Noticed we have a similar front 7, who're you (c) and (vc)-ing this week after bringing in Sanchez?

            Baines Clyne Caulker (Duff Wisdom)
            Sanchez Fabregas Chadli Siggy (Boyd)
            Aguero Costa Austin

I'm convinced Caulker will continue to score well in the home games I plan to play him in...

                The 6 times I've played him this season I've got 2, 6, 9, 1, -1, 6.

Not bad, and has some great fixtures to take me through to the Jan WC...

He's a great differential, and when he scores two in one game, I'll be 😎

            Moore>Taylor
            Pelle>Zamora

            3.1M ITB

Next week I can choose to:

            1) Upgrade Clyne>Azpilicueta or Coleman and Marney>Chadli (352)
            2) Bring Sterling in for Marney (352)
            3) Bring Costa, Rooney or Sturridge in for Welbeck (442)
            4) Upgrade Sigurdsson to Hazard or any other midfielder (442)

Been using the 352 all season but with Costa on the brink of a suspension I'm going to hold off from getting him. His injury record also concern me. Also, if Aguero ever gets injured doing Aguero>Costa is a very simply transfer for me.

2 FT's does open things up tremendously I find. I just did Welbeck>Austin this evening, and was going to save the other FT but probably gonna do Fabregas>Sanchez tomorrow before the first rise. Don't want to miss his rise and Fab will soon get another YC anyways so should drop somewhat in price, unless Mourinho trolls and says that he's injured again :/

they have a very tough December which should answer that.

I kind of hope they do, even as a liverpool fan. I like that club and their approach with home-grown players rather than just buying loads of expensive "stars".

If they can keep Tadic, Pelle, Forster, and Schneiderlin and a few others fit I think they can

Pelle and Tadic aren't important. They have the best defense and best CM in the league. Not only as units but each and every one of their starters at the back and in CM are good enough for top sides. That will carry them a long way.

No I don't think so but I would love it if they did, my Uncle and Grandad have been season ticket holders for years and I have a very early memory of standing at the Dell wathcing a Spurs team with Gary Lineker and Paul Gascoigne, one of many times they took me up there.

            I'm confounded, please help

            A) Fabregas>Sanchez - (today) great stats, playing as a striker, tough fixtures, price rising
            B) Fabregas>ADM - (wait until end of break) - great fixtures, set pieces, plays most advanced
            C) Keep Fabregas - WBA sun next up, set pieces, but playing deeper, little goal threat, maybe injured

Surely ADM will have great output against HUL and CPL, especially if Mata also plays?!

Haven't really planned that far ahead yet. After selling Clyne soon I'll probably go cheap in Def until christmas and bulk up with the Jan WC, otherwise i'm only looking about 6-8 GW's ahead.

I know that Southampton's fixtures turn just after GW22 iirc, and are keepers until the end of the season with a great run of fixtures. Will take a closer look around GW15-16 I reckon, as I've only considered Def rotation until GW19, and forwards are more on form than anything else so are more short-term

Oscar better score well in the next few weeks or I'm gonna seriously regret doing Siggy>Oscar and missing out on Sanchez's big hauls!
