As we brace ourselves for yet another international break, we turn to Saturday and Sunday’s fixtures and delve into the data in our first members article of the week. We assess Southampton’s chief creator and main frontman as the points start to dry up, cast an eye over Chelsea’s penalty box predator, Man City’s talismanic Argentine and Newcastle’s recent defensive displays as the clean sheets keep coming for Alan Pardew’s men.

Any suggestions on my next move? I'm considering keeping the FT.
1) Berahino -> 6.9m Forward
2) Jedinak -> 6.0m Midfielder
3) N. Taylor -> 5.6m Defenderkeep your free transfer til after the internationals anyways unless you want Baines in there
I'm not making any moves until after the internationals. This would be at that time.
I wouldn't sell Naylor, he has terrific fixtures after mci.
Fabianski (Krull)
Coleman, Clyde, Jagiielka, (Dawson, Shlupp)
ADM, Chadli, Downing, Tadic, (Diame)
Pelle, Costa, Berahino
2.3 in the bank !
I need a shot of adrenaline any advice who to drop or who too add?
Is it too early to make any transfers ?
Would a ADM for Sanchez make sence ?No Aguero Sanchez or Baines. Oh dear.
my thoughts exactly!!
I don't even know where to start, but I'll try.....
You need to get rid of Tadic for sure....you need to get Aguero for sure......you should have Baines for sure.....you shouldn't get rid of ADM to do any of it.Would you do it now or wait until after the inter break?
I personally don't put as much weight into waiting as others do, but it is slightly risky to pick up players who have a history of getting injury's. But if money is tight, I'd do it right away.
Thank you !!
Wildcard dude , use it
Costa Siggy
or
Fab Bonyfirst one and it's not even close.
Thought so
Although tbf week before this everyone would choose B
not me and it wouldn't have even been close then either 😉
Agreed, Whale vs a memo
Aaron Rodgers with 6 touchdown passes in the first half. #Domination
Padding his stats. Hes so damn good
Indeed.
Carrying on the Southampton top 4 discussion from the last page...
I know West Brom, Hull and Newcastle have been in similar positions at similars points in seasons past but I think Southampton are being dismissed too easily. They have the best defense in the league and the best CM pairing in the league. And their manager is a hard nosed, no nonsense type who knows how to scrape results.
I wouldn't bet against them.i predicted they'd finish 5th around gw4. I still stand by that. They could get 4th but need a lot of luck with injuries. They don't have the depth.
I was saying before the season started that they'd finish above Everton and push United hard for a EL spot. And people told me I was crazy and that they would get relegated! 😀
dutch league follower?
no, just not someone who gets carried away by the negative hype of teams selling loads of players. Koeman is a good coach, and they bought smartly.
I didn't know much about Tadic or Pelle apart from that they scored bucketloads in holland, but Alderweireld and Forster were very solid buys, and keeping Schneiderlin was very important as well
I think they'll finish 5th behind Utd, or 6th behind Everton...
I disagree. Have capable replacements at every position and JRod still to come...
GK Boruc
RB Aldy(Gardos comes in at CB)
CB Gardos and Yoshida
LB Clyne(Aldy go RB) or Targett
CM Cork and JWP
AM JWP/Davis Mane Isgrove
CF Long Mayukawe have to agree to disagree then. Long, mauka, isgrove, targett, gardos, yoshida? Every team has back up players we could rattle off. By depth i mean players that can step in without hurting the quality of the team much. They rely heavily on pelle and tadic in aattack. Without them they wouldn't be half the team they are.
Saints don't have EL or CL to deal with though, their squad is easily deep enough
to get 4th with key players having injuries it's not. My whole point is they could get 4th if thry have some luck on the injury front
But neither us, City or Arsenal are up to snuff. There's plenty of quality in depth in their squad to pull it off.
i agree, if they are lucky with injuries 🙂 we agree 4th or 5th is doable but if they lose some key players they will drop right off. It will hurt them more than the usual top 4 suspects.
Close enough. 😀 Although I think we're seeing that Arsenal have serious depth issues.
true. I thought they'd be challengers but gettin found out.
They did also just play SUN STO hul LEI though, hardly the toughest fixtures so far. A successful Winter would be massive for them, as thats when they play Everton, Unitedx2, Arsenal, City, Chelsea, which are the teams they will be fighting for top 4 with
I think they'll drop some points but they'll also win some matches. They're well good enough to get results against those sides. Chelsea the only side setting themselves apart.
And they have decent squad depth too. Really impressive.
I agree. I think they have a good shout a lot of the usual suspects have been very inconsistent this season.

-4There's only 4 players that I wouldn't want to not have right now and luckily I own them all. Who are your's?
Aguero
Costa
Sanchez
BainesThat will change.
Always does. But that's who it is "right now". Care to list your top 4 you need right now sir?
Kun
Sanchez
Hazard
BainesSo exactly the same except you like Hazard instead of Costa. I can live with that....but only if I was building an actual team, not for FPL. I love Hazard....believe me.....but Costa is a fantasy stud atm. He is averaging a goal every 75.1 minutes currently.
But his form has tailed offed while Hazard's is sure to be on the uptick. Let's not forget that Hazard has scored 200ish points in each of his first two PL seasons.
mup keep it cing
i'm hanging in there with edenWell pay off soon, mate.
Not so sure his form is still tailing off as he just scored and will have a nice 2 week break to get healthy again. Looking forward to a brace after the break. Would love to see Hazard get it going finally as well.
Costa & Chadli, they'll punish me dearly
Walcott Downing Bony
Sanchez Siggy Sakho
Sanchez Downing Austin#3
This^^^^
Interesting.
What about them mate?
oh,
number 2Which combo the best m8
2
2
Cheers all. Seems like I'm sticking with 2
Krul saving an Austin penalty and then Charlie scoring from the rebound, on his way to scoring a brace, is the only way I can get a haul from both...
I fancy it... 😉I'm benching both of them haha. Downing (eve) and Begovic (BUR) get the nod instead
Wow, some strenth in depth there, although sometimes that is a bad thing... I won't running the risk of benching Austin...
strength*
Going through a transition, so Austin is benched for Downing, until I do Tadic>4.4, and I've had Begovic and Krul since GW1. I still hope Begovic will repay me. He's been so unlucky at times to concede 1 single goal multipe times 🙁
Anyone else considering Bony?
I'm looking at a midfield of Sanchez-Downing-Sterling-Oscar-cheapie from GW13, so can't really fit Siggy in atm, though I want Swansea representation for those home games! Not as long as I have Siggy, so probably never...
What are the 3 MUST HAVE Defenders?
Baines/?/?Swan Def, Newcastle Def
There are no must have defenders.
But the template is Naylor Clyne BainesYeah that template is about to get thrown open though, especially Clyne
Clyne to Azpi will become the template transfer then
pretty much. throw in wisdom from WBA, even though immediate fixtures aren't great he's surely by far the best 4.0 def of the season. Not sure if Dummett is permanent enough yet but he's solid too right now.
Baines is desirable. But I don't think any defenders are must haves
Baines is easily the best value in the league right now. 7.0 def scoring like a 10m forward who gets CS points too. insane.
I wouldn't say must have but if I was WCing with a view to Jan WC, in my defense I'd have...
Baines Azpi NaylorIs Naylor nailed i for a while?
Tomkins has been really annoying after his 11 point haul. Drop or keep?
Collins seems to be a starter now. Collins or Reid in? Can't afford CressThat's one reason why i stayed away from West Ham CBs. Theyre just not nailed on enough. Only sell if you have no bigger issues, as he could become useful soon again
Haz Downing Sanchez Adm
Costa Kun Berahino
Front 7 looking good. Need to shore up my defence
Naylor Clyne Tomkins Chambers Moore
Anyone else managed to dodge goals from their cheap forwards all season?
My latest failure is berahino with 2 blanks. I was far too patient with ulloa before that, etc etc all the way back to ... Bojan. He scored yesterday too in a cruel act of mockery!Hahahah same. I am gonna punt on cheapies now. Their form dries up as soon as I pick them
Bojan bandwagon mk2?
Same story with Ulloa and Berahino atm, was painful to see Ulloa's 12 points sitting on the bench back when they beat United 5-3 🙁
Somehow I've managed to rise up the rankings despite these failures. Maybe just worth keeping berahino and forgetting about that spot!
In that case Kane seems the best bet. Why waste an extra mil there?
I still think berahino will score well through the season. Just thinking there's no point switching with hard fixtures.
Kane won't keep his place IMO
Same, mainly thanks to good 'ol (K)un. Berahino is going to get a penalty sooner or later so I'm keeping for now
Bojan>Naismith>Ulloa>Welbeck. Total of 1 goal and 2 assists while in my ownership. Gone with Austin now to see if he can be any better.
Bojan>Naismith>Ulloa>Cisse>Sakho
combined for 1 goal and 1 assist while playing every week
somehow im ranked ~1400th
Howard, Gilks
Cahill, Clyne, Chambers, Wisdom, Naylor
Sanchez, Downing, Mane, Siggy, Marney
Aguero, Welbeck, Costa,
1ft, 2.8m in the account.
Think I may go for Baines..
Cahill has some good fixtures.
Could go Naylor to Baines too but worried about being short in midfield..
What would u do here?Upgrade Mane to Hazard if you can
Cahill to Baines, Chelsea defense has been a bit leaky
Baines to Chambers would leave 0.2m in the account..
Any good?
Cahill has been poor enough.. but Ive a feeling things will change with him..
Tinkering a lot. My latest plan with my 2FT!
Moore>Azpilicueta
Pelle>Austin
Next week:
Clyne>Taylor
1.0M ITB
Simple but I keep the 352 🙂This Austin vs Sakho thing is tricky.
Obviously Sakho has a better record, but Austin looked immense vs city. Both have good fix.
Heart says Austin, head says sakho.
Any of you made your minds up?Yep I have: I'm not going to get a budget striker because it's bound to end up in tears (see Ulloa, Berahino, Bojan and Naismith).
I'd add Welbeck to that list. Expected so much more from him than 1g 2a in the 4 games i had him, considering the fixtures he had.
I've done Welbeck>Austin, though I'm only planning to play him in home games most likely, which is where QPR are good and he is most destructive.Berahino's been fine. Problem is people expect too much from them.
Yeah, sometimes you've just got to set a deadline though. cheap strikers are really hit and miss, but usually come good over time. I'm planning to give Austin 4 home games: LEI BUR WBA and CPL, which is 8 GW's. Need to find a cheap mid who rotates well with him though.
Look at the fix though. Seems worth a switch given austin&sakho's fix.
No way. Berahino well capable of getting something on the counter. I say this as a Berahino and Sakho owner. Only player I'll sell Berahino for is Rooney.
To be fair I'm directly contradicting my post above this one... Shows I've got conflicting ideas!
No doubt. I'd hold fire unless you think you'd want one for the long haul in which case I reckon Sakho is your man. If I had to choose one it'd be him over Berahino.
Well long haul in the current context means until January, since we have a wildcard. Definitely a tough decision
Sakho. Great goalscorer in a better attacking team.
I'm pretty certain on Sakho. Both teamsdecent fixtures and can score goals. But just ook at the amount of goals West ham are putting away. Often scoring 2,3. For that reason I've gone Sakho over Austin.
Welcome aboard, mate. 😀
Lol haven't made the transfer yet though I'm 90% certain to pull the trigger soon
Oh lol 😀
Just seen you have Downing. Just hold Berahino, mate.
Getting Sanchez now feels like being a wet dog cowering with its tail between its legs while it stumbles reluctantly in through the backdoor after spending the night in the pouring rain, or being the cleanup crew for a massive drug-fueled all-night hotel-room rave. You can't win no matter what you do, but you know you have to just accept and get on with it. Sigh.
No. It's much more serious than that 😆
That's how I feel with Chadli. I finally brought him in.
what made you not bring him in this week? Was perhaps the most obvious transfer of the week imo.
I saved FT as I only had 0.2itb. Now I used 1ft on Welbeck>Austin and contemplating using the other on Fab>Sanchez
Any opinions on who will rise 0.2 this GW?
I'd say Aguero, Sanchez, Austin and Chambers are almost certain.
And maybe Wanyama, Chadli and Janmaat.
Anyone else?Nailed it. If I do Fabregas>Sanchez I could get 0.2 out of all four of those you mentioned first. 🙂
I hope Clyne can rise too. Outside chance, but another 0.1 pockets me 0.1. He needs 21,000 buyers though... unlikelyClyne/Bertrand/Downing are still cheap and on 1st page, should rise twice. Former 2 have got clean sheets, sho higher chance. Baines is possible contender too
Interesting. Maybe I'll leave selling Clyne til just before the deadline then 🙂
http://www.fplstatistics.co.uk/
Cork/Alexis/Dawson in the next couple of daysBaines maybe Costa too. Perez has three goals in three. Are people getting him in?
GW rank: 631 😯 😀
:O
Doh! fail.
😯😀
nice
Cheers! 🙂
Wow well done mate
Cheers! Have only crossed 60pts mark twice and have ended on 102 and 96pts, what should I make out from this? 😮
Probably team is "one week wonder"It's a nice feeling though. My team has rarely exploded and though going well, it just doesn't quite feel like it when you grind your way to the top as opposed blowing opponents out of the water lol
Haha 😀 80, 30, 80 is better than 60, 60, 60 😆
interesting team. link?
Great work.
Cheers! Keeping Hazard?
Woah considering this moves.
FORSTER
CLYNE Baines Chambers Duff Moore
FAB Sanchez diMaria Chadli Boyd
PELLE Aguero Sakho
Fab Pelle -> Siggy Costa this week.
Forster -> Fabianski next week
Clyne -> Azpi after.
Can't delay the first move though as I have exact money for these moves - unless Clyne / Forster rise before Azpi / FabianskiClyne may rise .1 by next gw i feel
But i think the moves look good as we will have similar teams by the end of my WC (Below)
Would you WC this team?
Begovic - Gilks
Baines - Chambers - Clyne - Moore - Pva
Alexis - ADM - Fab - Chadli - Marney
Aguero - Pelle - SakhoI wouldn't. Decent team.
What's your main concern? Costa? PVA?yea Costa for me
Could do Pelle + Fab to Costa + Siggy
but i would lose lotsa team value for tt moveseems a reasonable swap if you're dead keen on costa
Hmm. Seems like good moves. But I've had Costa and Siggy from the start of the season (no Fab at all though), and believe they're still good for their money. Pelle will inevitably taper off.
no
again what are your concerns?Beg and Pelle out next gameweek and youre sorted
Nah. Just sort out that D with your FTs here and there.
WC Team
Krul Foster
Chambers Baines Clyne Wisdom S Taylor
Sigi Downing Sanchez ADM Wanyama
Aguero Costa Austin
1.1M ITB
My original plan was to drop Chambers and Wanyama after rises for Boyd and Azpi, but trying to get Chadli in aswell as hes punishing non owners almost every week like ramsey from last year..... any way u can see this happening?
Thanks for replies DZI fancy Sig Downing Chadli Sanchez ADM midfield
Any way u see of fitting them all in?
See below, I am on WC too and my plan
Goodto know we have very similar teams going forward..... ive had Ivan since gw2 and hes pissed me off majorly in that time and ive just seen baines score and score and aguero so they were the only 2 reasons i wc..... and to clear out a few for the next few weeks
I belive Ivan will come good soon, No need to drop on WC mate. Chelsea just lost CS by just 1 goal for last 4 or 5 matches or so. Even if on WC, no need to drop Ivan, just try to get both Ivan and Baines on WC with Newcastle and Swansea defence and I think it is good to go.
BTW I am also on Wildcard and thinking about playing with 5 Mid Field something like below
Fab (Krul)
Dummet, Ivan, Baines, Wisdom, Yun
ADM, Siggy, Downing, Chadli, Sanchez
Aguero, Costa, Zamora(or a cheapie who nail on)
and playing 3-5-2 every week.So i need to drop Clyne then really to get that midfield.....or Austin
Thanks for sharing that its defo worth considering..... does Kane go as ur third striker in that system for the money?Kane worth a look but not sure enough money, Yes I also have to drop Cynce since his fixtures are so bad.
Yh i was hoping to get another rise this week before i shift clyne and then consider, but i had forster before with him and reluctant to move both before i see them conceeding loads..... as i think they will surprise a few and actually do ok/well vs better teams aswell
anyone talk me out of pelle to austin?or should i wait a GW?
I am lucky enough to have kun and sakho as the others.you should be looking at having costa or sturridge next to kun rather than another cheapie. I can see the appeal though
I'd wait a week unless you really want the cash
* This
Would hold and wait for Rooney or Studge to hit form.
I would defo wait a week with that transfer as Austin away isnt such a force, ive been forced into doing it on a WC as only way to have Aguero Costa main front 2, but id prefer pelle for the season over austin
thanks fellas
watching brief it is then
What do you guys think about this? 2FT:
This week:
Pelle>Austin
Week after:
Clyne>Taylor
Welbeck>Costa
Fabregas>Sterling
-4, 0.4M ITBFab to Sterling this week might be better, would keep Pelle for atleast this week
I think the plan is too specific and you'll change your mind. Just concentrate on a good move this week. Not sure I'd want to do pelle to Austin just yet, given the next fix.
I like.
In a similar position with 2FT and though would like to hold Pelle for one more game , seems he
is the best option to lose first.
Too early to do pelle->austin this week?
Yeah
As above.
Seems I may be have to do same , so no , depending on other options of course. .By miles... Austin away just doesnt cut the mustard
Thanks all! Its only the price rises that are tempting me. Guess will wait till gw13 then!
Don't do it yet. Newcastle is just so solid
Cheers. Thanks for advice!
Far too early, whats the point?
Think he has similar dilemma to me. 2 FT .
In my case Welbeck/ Pelle / Saints defender need to leave for Costa / Austin (or the like) and Naylor (probably).
Want to hold Welbeck for 1 more so its Pelle to shift first ?Surely there is someone else that could be moved. I'd sooner move a Saints defender than Pelle at least
No injuries and I'm feeling strong
Forster
Baines Clyne Chambers
Hazard Sanchez Downing Chadli
Aguero Costa SakhoKeeping or selling Forster and Clyne come GW13?
Keeping Clyne, selling Forster
Madness to own Wally and Sanchez in the near future?
Depends on their form. Wally is a wait n see must definitely double up is a gd option when arsenal is in form
I'm thinking it'll be Fab that has to go in his place.
I think best to wait a while on Wally .
Probably until he gets his first start , then look again ?Yeah, i'm definitely holding off but won't hesitate to pull the trigger if he gets going.
Agree , keep finger on the trigger
Most will be doing 🙂
Cisse and Tiote to Perez and Downing for -4? Worth doing?
Bye bye page 17 !!!
