As we brace ourselves for yet another international break, we turn to Saturday and Sunday’s fixtures and delve into the data in our first members article of the week. We assess Southampton’s chief creator and main frontman as the points start to dry up, cast an eye over Chelsea’s penalty box predator, Man City’s talismanic Argentine and Newcastle’s recent defensive displays as the clean sheets keep coming for Alan Pardew’s men.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Should I save FT this week? (1FT, 0.1 ITB)

    DDG; (Gilks)
    Bertrand, Jagielka, O'Shea, Coloccini; (Duff)
    Sanchez, Fabregas, Downing; (Siggy, Marney)
    Aguero, Costa, Pelle

My biggest concern is not owning Baines.
Also which two to start among O'Shea, Coloccini, Downing, Siggy?

      11 years, 5 months ago

Save I reckon, or downgrade Bert and upgrade Jagielka if you want Baines. Alternatively you can go Fab - Chadli and upgrade Bert to Baines.

I would start Siggy and O'Shea

Its simple. Luxury players like Eriksen, Mata, Silva, Toure, etc need everything to be built around them in the AM position. When they are out of position or given too much defensive responsibility they become ineffective.

    Pelle Aguero Kane

    Fabianski (Krull)
    Coleman, Clyde, Jagiielka, (Dawson, Shlupp)
    ADM, Chadli, Downing, Tadic, (Diame)
    Pelle, Costa, Berahino

    Fabianski (Krull)
Baines , Clyde, Coloccini, (Yun, dummeet)
ADM, Chadli, Downing, Sanchez , (wanyama)

Not this week. I rate Southampton as being among the league's top 3 attacks and Villa being among the worst 3 defenses going into this game week. At least this is what the statistics say.

Help on the previous page would be appreciated too! 🙂

Was willing to take 0.1 rise to my chin, 'cos couldn't see quick double rise for him.
But oh they said he'll get another rise sooner than friday before deadline - just do it.

Now I can spend next two weeks waiting for injuries & frustrating about low amount of Austin transfers.

If I see that guy who feckd this thing I'll just punch him in the face!

I am planning (and have cash) to do Tadic-ADM

But should I do it this week or wait a week?

    Basically

    ADM v ars
    vs
    Tadic v VILLA

Same here, though I'm becoming far more open to the idea of taking multiple hits to get the team in line with where you want to be, instead of constantly straggling along 2-3 FT's behind the team you want.

Yeah the need for hits is definitely dependant on the state of your team. Thats the thing with a strong start and a good WC.

Yeah, I did Welbeck>Austin, made sense.

Though now when I'm going through my options I keep thinking that I should have gone Welbeck>Zamora and gone for the ADM-Sanchez-Costa-Aguero-Baines-Siggy combo instead in a 352.

I'm contemplating Fabregas>Sanchez now before his rise. Though I think ADM might outscore him and his lower cost leaves more doors open in my team.

Zamora isn't nailed. Harry will play 4-5-1 away from home more often than not, like he did against Chelsea with Austin as lone striker.

I think Sanchez will score more than ADM. Form over fixtures, imo. I really like that move. But I'd be a bit hesitant to pull the trigger before the internationals are over.

And by the way, what do you reckon here?

It really does seem to me this season that anyone can score against anyone (Except southampton!)... Following the fixtures with attackers has been somewhat fruitless.

Nah I've just had Clyne all season.

Re Pelle, keeping him for the villa game.

If he does especially well vs Villa, I may keep because he is a confidence player.

Pelle seems to have been a little found out recently. I'm looking at alternatives at present.
I too am doubled up (Bertie & Forster) on Southampton Defence and considering who to go.

Maybe it applies more to smaller teams. They are scoring more than usual against big teams.

Look at Leicester and QPR for example. Looked great against the bigger teams, poor vs lower teams.

Is wellbeck and clyne > bojan and baines worth -4? Basically the only way to get baines in without dismantling my team totally.

Bojan I wouldn't take based on 1 game
Could go for ayoze Perez over him

      Austin if he's in budget

So I gave up on my second team minileague idea after being advised that FPLtowers don't like this kind of thing.

I wish there was a legal way to have a second team. Maybe it could be ineligible for prizes or something / not included in the main league table.

Out of the three Chelsea good point scorers, what two would you have if money wasn't an issue?
    A) Fabregas
    B) Costa
    C) Hazard

The Chelsea fixture list to Boxing Day is pretty impressive. I currently only have Fab, but thinking I need more.
