With the third international break of the season upon us, we’re afforded time to assess the leader contenders in the Fantasy Football Scout leagues across in a variety of games. With leagues in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Ultimate Fantasy Premier League, Sky Sports and the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) Champions League game, there’s plenty to catch up on.

Fantasy Premier League

Adam Stuckert sits atop the Scout League with a total of 758 points after the first 11 Gameweeks. Adam – who notched 72 points in the previous round of fixtures – had the likes of Tim Krul, Nathaniel Clyne, Leighton Baines, Alexis Sanchez, Sergio Aguero and captain Graziano Pelle to thank for steering him to number one in the overall standings.

Vasil Raykov is just seven points behind in second spot, or third overall. He also has the likes of Baines, Clyne, Sanchez, Pelle and Aguero on board, with Brad Guzan, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Nacer Chadli and Diego Costa amongst his starters as he racked up 89 points last time around despite, like Adam, handing the armband to Pelle. Intriguingly, Vasil is the only one of our top five to have played his wildcard at this stage.

In third spot sits Matthew Furlong, on the back of a 92-point Gameweek 11. His decision to captain Aguero paid off handsomely, with the usual suspects such as Baines, Clyne, Sanchez, Sigurdsson, Chadli and Costa all amongst the points last time around.

Matthew sits just one point ahead of both Petter Gullestad and Mariusz Fyrstenberg. Petter registered 79 points in Gameweek 11, with his decision to captain Aguero reaping rewards, whilst he also had the likes of Baines, Sigurdsson and Sanchez as part of his starting XI. Another one to hand the armband to Aguero, Mariusz delivered 82 points – he’ll be hoping his decision to retain United’s Angel di Maria will prove a differential amongst our top five.

Thanks to those five managers, we’re currently retaining our spot at the top of the League of Leagues. You can join our classic league using the code 11856-4526.

Hitesh Gulati is a new entry at number one in the Scout Members league, which sits fifth in the league of leagues. He sits fifth in the overall standings, despite deciding to ignore the consistent Leighton Baines to this point, with 749 points accrued. Peter Chesley earns second spot with a total of 731 points, just edging Matt Summers into third by a single point.

Ultimate Fantasy Premier League

Lawrence White is the leader of our UFPL Scout league, after a 99-point haul in Gameweek 11 took his total to 884 for the season – second overall. Joe Hanmer is in second spot with his total of 869 points placing him 13th in the world, whilst Geoff Shotter is 13 points further behind in third spot. To join our UFPL league, use the code 524-87.

Sky Sports Fantasy Football

Jason Callender leads the way in the Scout league with a total of 826 points – that’s enough for third place in the overall standings and earns him a 38-point lead over our second place manager, Ryan Hutton. Martin Smith takes third spot after Gameweek 13 of the Sky Sports offering, with a total of 782 points helping to 32nd spot overall. The winner of our Sky league, which is also top in the league of leagues, wins Β£1,000. To join up, the league name is FFScout and the code is 8009000.

Champions League

Our official Champions League game this season is the Fantasy iTeam (FiT) offering – a free, reliable and easy-to-use Fantasy football app. After four rounds of Matchdays, Daniel Lord heads the Scout League with 328 points, whilst Waleed Cherif (314 points) and Simon Gow, on 313 points, grab second and third respectively. There’s an iPad mini on offer to the winner – the league name is Fantasy Football Scout and the pin is 11155.

We’ve set up another league for those still following the official Champions League game. Simon Butt is the leader on 316 points – 28th overall – and is followed by sidharth91 and gkalaf on 315 and 313 points respectively.

ADM to Downing tonight I reckon. Frees up 4 million to spend on a 5m defender to Azpil/Ivan, Pelle to Costa, maybe even upgrade a GK to Adrian etc.. Gotta be good business.

Yeah, it'll be a sea change for sure, so always looking to be told it's a draft move etc.

            A) Chambers, Fab, ADM and Pelle

            B) Azpil, Haz, Downing and Costa

I think B wins hands-down, but happy to be persuaded otherwise.

                    Based on stats, mainly.

Aside from that - Haz has more goal threat, on pens and in a better team.

      Yesterday.
Both most accurate to date price prediction web site predicted Downing to rise. He didn't.

      Today.
One web site says Downing will rise tonight.
Another one just revised and says he will not rise tonight.

      Tomorrow.
      We will know.

Which camp do you fall into?

    A) Some say Hazard is only a few points behind Fabregas. You say, without penalties where would Hazard be? If the penalties don't come, he's no good.

    B) Some say Hazard has relied on penalties. You say, yes but Hazard's the penalty taker so that's a positive.

Personally, I'm half and half. Yes, he is the penalty taker so those owners deserve those points. But without penalties (which are a bit of a lottery), he'd be in Mata and Silva territory for points. He could go weeks and weeks without a penalty now, and you wouldn't buy Mata or Silva right now.

I'd probably say B. Being penalty taker for a club attacking as much as Chelsea is a massive plus. Look at Gerrard last season.

        • 12 Years
        11 years, 5 months ago

Fair point, but Gerrard's a bit of an extreme. Last season, pens scored:
        10 - Liverpool
        6 - City, Sunderland
5 - Chelsea, Palace, United, Spurs
        4 - Stoke, Swansea
        3 - Arsenal, Everton, Southampton

Yeah, OK, having Suarez and Sturridge perfecting the art of winning pens was a big bonus.

So, you are probably looking at 5-6 goals from penalties alone.

Apart from that. I dunno, to me a looks a bit less direct, a bit less selfish than last season but still playing really well. Maybe a deliberate change of his game? Not sure.

            11 years, 5 months ago

Yeah, it's that eternal doubt with Hazard... the haul will come, but will he be worth holding in the mean time.

I had the same with Silva last season. Held for weeks and he was MOTM most games but very few points! Meanwhile, Yaya scored 6 goals with 6 attempts or something over the same period (then Silva got injured, it was a really harrowing time)

                11 years, 5 months ago

Yep. Had Silva myself this season, I feel your pain! πŸ˜› I can't afford Hazard this week, so I guess that's my decision made!

last year was brilliant in that regards.

        • 11 Years
        11 years, 5 months ago

Yeah but ignoring pens Gerrard is also the best set-piece taker in the league and that counts for something too. Hazard doesn't have set-pieces which is a big minus compared to Fabregas and Oscar who have the 5 giants to aim for in the box.

          • 12 Years

        11 years, 5 months ago

That's a good point, but teams regularly get free-kicks and corners and he has the ability to take advantage of it. I do agree with you, but penalties are slightly less predictable.. albeit they are rewarded more handsomely. You win that one. πŸ˜›

      B. Their owner pays for the penalties so of cos deserve the points but for hazard to be a truly tempting option he needs to score or assist more. He is just not involved in the chelsea goals. He has also much more potential than gerrard just that it has not been turned into fpl points yet

Hazard on his own is an explosive option..but certainly not some1 to cover chelsea attack.

I rmb i got him just b4 he exploded..good days.

But its also due to last yr's experience abt his constant blanks and a poor wc performance which made me decide not to have him until now.

Of cos i think he is playing well and although he is no longer the only chelsea threat..i expect him to be getting more pts soon

        • 12 Years

Not blowing my own trumpet, but there does seem to a lot of Hazard love and this "only 7 less points than Cesc" comment confuses me slightly. Seems a bit simplistic. A lot of optimism that this monster haul is imminent.

The fact that fab rises 0.8..earn 7 more pts than hazard already shows that fab owner is better off so far...anyway note that hazard's points been inflated due to bonus

Good tt whenever haz scores he will get bonus..but oso mean actually haz does lesser than the points suggest

    Lloris / Krul

    Baines(I) / Bert / Chambers / Naylor / Wisdom

Not sure I understand why Costa is more 'essential' Chelsea cover than Hazard for the money, and given that you only have two places for strikers (assuming Aguero is given)....there are lots of plausible, cheaper alternatives around at the moment which will free up funds for big-hitters in midfield and defence.

He scores more goals and the team is based around him this year instead of Hazard

The cheaper forwards are highly inconsistent and are poor captaincy options

If u define cover as getting involved when the team scores..then its easy to see that costa is much more involved in chelsea's goal than hazard. The fact tt costa gets consistent pts means he is a captain option which haz is not..and for all these only 1m more.

More pts than hazard despite missing 2 games. Enough said

Are you insane Bobb? Hazard has three goals, Costa has, what, 9 - 10? It really is as simple as that.

      Downing can cover Hazards points.

Even with the likes of Baines. Ivano. Haz. Adm. Aguero n Costa...

Can I continue to get by without Sanchez?

I have not found a way to bring him in yet but am hovering around top 25-30k with decent TV, I don't have any Saints left which seems to be a good think here a.t.m.

Do others here continue to worry about Sanchez as much as me?

    Is he already essential???

Does anyone think it's worth a hit to bring in Costa & Downing for Pelle & Fabregas?

    Pros:
    1. It'll save me 0.1 to 0.2 to bring Downing in early.
    2. It'll save me 0.1 to 0.2 to bring Costa in early.
    3. Costa against West Brom could potentially explode (should be fresh after having a 2 week break)
    4. I could choose to captain Costa, instead of Aguero.
    5. Downing is virtually guaranteed to start, while Fabregas is a doubt and I also have Baines who is doubtful. (King is my first sub [not nailed on], and N. Taylor [vs Man City away] and Wisdom [vs Chelsea away] as my other subs.)
    6. I'll be able to take out Begovic/a defender for free next GW (a GW earlier than I would've been able to).

    Cons:
    1. It costs me 4 points.
    2. I'll make the transfers early so could risk being forced into other hits.
    3. If Fabregas starts, him & Pelle could be a better combo this week than Costa & Downing.

What's the best option for this GW:
    A) Costa & Downing for Pelle & Fabregas (-4 points)
    B) Downing for Fabregas (free) [Costa for Pelle next GW]
    C) Save transfers this week. [Costa & Downing for Pelle & Fabregas for free next GW]
