It’s “squeaky bum time” in the ScoutCast studio as Granville continues to chip away at my previously “unassailable” mini-league lead. My co-host stumbled through an injury-strewn Gameweek 12 with the honours, leaving me trailing and worrying that he’ll have clawed it all back by Christmas.

Pressing on, we flog the Hazard vs Fabregas debate once again and run the rule over a cast of budget strikers, desperately searching for the optimum way to spend the two transfers burning holes in our pockets.

We asses the week’s transfer bandwagons, look ahead to Gameweek 13 and take time out to tease Jonty on his Di Maria u-turn. We then combine “powers” to terrifying effect and prepare the ScoutCast XI for their Fantasy Football Scout Cup qualifying round, having flexed its muscles to the tune of a 59-point Gameweek 12. Intimidating stuff.

      I've been bigging him up for the last few days (lots of discussion in my post history fyi), but i think im going to pass. I like to pick players who have decent fixtures for their next 5-6 gw's rather than just 3 gw punts, as i like longer-term planning so i can focus on short-term issues instead with my ft's

          I haven't decided yet ... but it makes more sense to me right now to change defender and leave myself flexible upfront.

          Maybe Kane could become a serious option next week, who knows. He'd be perfect in my 8 forward system

        Yeah I watched both games in which he scored. He seems to be quiet the player when he wants to be. Agree usually I look to have a player with 7 good match in their next 10 games (at best). However, I'm looking very short term I have some plans just before the xmas seasons of some players I want to own.

      Tough fixtures really, Villa will set up to defend, QPR finding form at home, Newcastle keeping clean sheets. Wouldn't be my first choice budget striker, but a punt is a punt.

        I have to say I disagree. Villa's back line have many injuries. Including Vlaar their best defender. Lucky to not give up more goals imo. If Krul is out for an extended period of time as well as Colo Newcastle could see a dip in defensive form. and qpr are qpr. Never trust them defensively. But I agree a punt is a punt and thats what this would be.

          My 3 week punt is Austin. Partly for QPRs home improvements and because always fear Swans will concede against a big lad (Zamora) up top.

      This is the question...
      If Rooney plays in the hole then he's probably a better choice but, if he gets shifted to a more central midfield role again then he just can't justify the price or the valuable striker's spot.
