Stewart Downing returns to training for West Ham, though Sam Allardyce still has doubts over a handful of regulars. Jack Wilshere is out for three months with an ankle injury for Arsenal. Newcastle pair Fabricio Coloccini and Steven Taylor return to training but Tim Krul is doubtful. Saido Berahino is fit for West Brom after recovering from a minor hamstring problem, while Stoke are hit by a virus ahead of the trip to Liverpool.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Jack Wilshere is set to be sidelined for three months after undergoing ankle surgery. Mikel Arteta is also ruled out for the Gunners, whilst Wojciech Szczesny has failed to train and Yaya Sanogo “has problems” with the hamstring injury that forced him off in midweek. Danny Welbeck is set for a fitness test later today on the knee problem that forced him to miss the win over Dortmund, though Theo Walcott remains sidelined with a groin problem.

Villa’s injury room remains packed ahead of their trip to Burnley. Paul Lambert has confirmed that Ron Vlaar, Philippe Senderos and Nathan Baker are all still absent due to injury.

Scott Arfield and Nathaniel Chalobah are both available for Burnley available for Burnley’s home encounter after recovering from a knock, though Sean Dyche is still without Sam Vokes and Matt Taylor as Villa roll up to Turf Moor. Michael Duff is rated “touch and go” after being forced off last week with a calf complaint.

Palace will be without the services of Damien Delaney for the next couple of matches. The central defender sustained a calf injury at home to Liverpool last time out and has an “outside chance” of making the Gameweek 15 clash with Spurs, according to Neil Warnock. The Palace boss has also confirmed Adrian Mariappa “might be out a little bit longer than Delaney” with the knee injury sustained in training last week.

Everton midfielder James McCarthy will be assessed after limping out of last night’s win over Wolfsburg with a recurrence of a hamstring injury. Aiden McGeady recovered from a weekend illness to play the full 90 minutes.

Hull are without frontman Abel Hernandez for the next two league encounters as he has returned to his native Uruguay for the birth of his child. Steve Bruce will welcome back Mo Diame, though, after the midfielder overcame the knee problem that forced him out of last week’s encounter with Spurs.

Marcos Rojo has returned to training for United, though it remains to be seen whether he’s fit enough to be considered this weekend after a recent shoulder injury.

Alan Pardew revealed Fabricio Coloccini, Steven Taylor, Cheick Tiote and Emmanuel Riviere have all returned to training for Newcastle, those was somewhat coy on the quartet’s availability, saying “I don’t want to give too much away”. The Magpies manager is confident that young winger Rolando Aarons will be back next week and also confirmed Ryan Taylor is out for only three-to-four weeks after sustaining a slight knee problem last weekend. Tim Krul is a doubt for the trip to West Ham, however, after picking up a training ground knock.

After serving a three-match suspension, Rio Ferdinand will be assessed for QPR’s clash with Leicester. Harry Redknapp is hopeful the defender will be fit, though the Hoops boss ruled out Adel Taarabt once again, admitting “He’s still not fit and still not training”.

Mark Hughes has revealed Asmir Begovic, Geoff Cameron and Phil Bardsley have all picked up a virus that is sweeping through the Stoke camp. The Potters hope to have Marc Wilson and Erik Pieters back in time for their trip to Anfield after both missed out last week – Hughes went on to reveal that Wilson has returned to training, while Robert Huth is closing in on a return from a calf complaint.

Saido Berahino is in contention for West Brom after overcoming a “minor hamstring” problem according to Alan Irvine. The Baggies also has Sebastien Pocognoli back for the visit of Arsenal, while James Morrison is hoping to recover from illness.

Stewart Downing and Cheick Kouyate both returned to training for West Ham yesterday, Sam Allardyce has confirmed. The Hammers boss admitted he’s less positive on the other three players – Alex Song, Enner Valencia and Diafra Sakho – that missed out last weekend, though he reckons Mark Noble “might” be back in contention after being forced off in the 2-1 defeat at Goodison.

    Heaton (Gilks)
    Clyne/Baines/Chambers (Dummett/Moore)

Ok, so Sakho has to go - this a sensible use of 2FT?

    Hutton and Austin in
    Chester and Sakho
-4 would get Boyd in, Marney out...

    Leaving me with...
    Foster (Gilks)
N Taylor - Hutton - Chambers (Wisdom, Clyne)
Siggy - Sanchez - Fab - ADM (Marney)
    Costa - Austin - Kun

Down to this…would really appreciate some help in deciding what transfers to make. 🙂

    A) Bony + Siggy
    B) Rooney + Walters
    C) Bony + Chamberlain
    D) Ings + Siggy/9.3m
    E) Something else

Currently on A….more than happy to listen to any other suggestions.

    Thank you!

I don't know what to suggest only that I don't like the Swans double up in attack. They've got good fixtures but they don't create enough. Siggy is plenty IMO.

Nice Walters pick last week btw 😀

Mm....same here to be honest...don't have either Siggy or Bony. Who would you go for? Think I'd want at least one of them...especially when they both perform well at home and have a nice run of home fixtures in the next few.

Thanks 😀 Might even keep him this week, read somewhere that he's been great from stetpieces this season, as Stoke are in general, and Liverpool are the worst team in the league for set piece defending.

If Baines plays on Sunday, and there's no twinge or any discomfort, then he'll play Wednesday, no doubt. If the feels something, then he won't. You don't ease hamstring injuries back - you're either ready to play or you're not.

Guys I can't decide on defence can anyone help?
GK: Forster/Begovic (Playing Forster as begovic ill?)
    DEF:Chambers/Jag/Ivanovic
    MID:Di Maria/Sanchez(C)/Oscar/Downing(Think he'll be back?)
    ATK: Aguero/Ayoze/Berahino
    SUB:Clyne/McCarthy/Vlaar

McCarthy and Vlaar im not interested in as both injured, tempted to get Clyne playing even though it's City, anyone think it's worth replacing Jagielka? one half of me wants to because Clyne might assist/score, on the other hand i much prefer Jagielkas chance of a clean sheet against tottenham (especially after tottenham's attacking performance in europa) . Or maybe better to leave Clyne as first sub in case Downing doesn't play?

Yun for a hit? I just don't see the cleanies or attacking potential with him. Trippier at least has a huge assist potential.

It's not that huge.. 1 assist in 12 games proves that.. I wouldn't want to be spending 4.8 on a Burnley defender personally but money aside, he is probably a better option than Yun (Although QPR have better fixtures)

personally i think if it is used to get rooney/adm and the defender that u bought in has decent fixtures it is worth taking him out.

if u bought baines at 6.9 u are likely to lose 0.2 which might end up 0.1 if he drops price. so might be worth it. city away coming also should dent the CS potential though we all know we get baines for attacking threat.

If Baines fit? Any ManU cover?

            I can do

            A)Baines/Pele->4.8m/Rooney for free OR
            B) Pele->Austin(If Baines fit) - would mean no ManU cover
            C)Pele/Downing/Baines->Austin/ADM/5.1m def for -4

            😕

Thoughts on Cresswell? Played well against Everton and puts good number of crosses(havent watched him play much tbh)
Worth investment? Or Reid at 5m is better?

Good attacking threat, but West Ham have lost their CS ability so 5.3 is quite expensive

Naylor's on 4 YCs, only 0.3 cheaper. Maybe best to get Rangel? Not much in it imo.

Looking at chamberlain in for tad if. Downing looked like the perfect replacement but with injury doubt I'm not so sure. Do we think chamberlain will start consistantly? I say certainly nailed on for next few with theo out along with most arsenal mids

I heard that but just seems dodgy getting him in if there is doubt over fitness. Thanks I'm going with chamberlain. Could return big as a differential if it works out

Chamberlain is a transfer out waiting to happen though. At this time of the FPL season thats not what you want imo.

2 free transfers, 0 in the bank

    Krul
    Baines, Chambers, NTaylor
    Sanchez, Fabregas, Sigurdsson, Downing
    Aguero, Costa, Pelle

    Elliot, Duff, Bertrand, Cattermole

    A. Pelle to Austin, save 1 transfer
    B. Pelle, Bertrand to Bony, Yun
    C. Pelle, Bertrand to Austin, Azpil/Terry/Cahill
    D. Pelle, Fabregas to Austin, Hazard

I can. Means no Baines though.

      Heaton
      Naylor/Berty/4.8m/Hutton/Duff
      Down/Siggy/Sanchez/Cesc
      Costa/Roon/Kun

    So hard this....Terry or Azpi?

Terry has greater goal threat, probably more nailed on (he is captain)

Azpil is cheaper, more chance for BPS if chelsea get a clean sheet, and could get the odd assist, but is threatened by Felipe Luis. He is a favourite of Mou though.

Thoughts on who is the better pick, with all things being considered?

I think Terry will cover the .3 with the odd goal.
Azpilli has a better bonus chance, but no threat

Don't like Newcastles fixtures... Not with the 2nd choice keeper. Can't see any clean sheets
