thats my theory, and has worked beautifully all season long.
I've benched Siggy x3, Baines, Fabregas, Tadic, Downing x2, and Oscar among others to good effect, and all of those benchings were blanks 😉-

Sakho and Cissé are tempting, but there's some considerable downsides to both of them. Just short of getting Benteke. And Welbeck has gone cold.

Don't think so, assume purely tactical. Ivanovic filled in up front a couple of times pre-season (chasing a game with 10 mins left) so guess Mourinho left him on incase he was needed for that (and he was)
