Downing doing so well at such a low price! Do you see him as a season keeper? He has some very tough fixtures coming up I was considering selling when the games get tough but I'm considering keeping now.

That will end in tears and benched points. I don't see any player as a season keeper, half the skill in FPL is judging when players are losing form and jumping off in time.

His main asset is getting assists that is his game. His finishing isn't great but he is getting a lot of chances the way west ham play so he is due the odd goal
At least he has stats on his side, in the top 5 for chances created every week, so even if getting a goal might be a fluke him getting points is not

Lampard & Gerrard have proven time and time again they can't play midfield to the very top level. They are better attacking midfielders than Scholes, but Scholes was a far superior midfield player to them both, it's not even close.
The whole Scholes love-in is one of the greatest mysteries in football as far as I'm concerned.
Did less for Utd than Giggs or, especially, Keane. Did less for England than - well - pretty much anyone who played for England in that era.
He was their pivot. Why knock long balls up to a big man when you can pass to a midfielder who ghosts around the pitch never getting tackled.

Probably been asked a few times here already, why did azpi not play today? Rested, injured or dropped?
Rested is my guess, gutted because I got him in for a hit this week.Rested I think but perfect example of why taking a hit for a defender is a bad idea. VERY hard to get those points back just to break even.
Two reasons
1. Rested before busy period over xmas
2. Cesc was out so Mou wanted a more attacking FB to make up for Mikel being more defensive

He's always had good patches, this season it appears he's found consistency as well. But no place for him at the moment, unless Siggy continues his bad spell, that is.
