I have Benteke and Austin as other strikers, seriously considering it as I'm no longer looking at him as a captain pick, his cards hurt too much and he hasn't proved to be the spectacular pick for months.
Was thinking Rooney might be a safer pick over Christmas and maybe get him back in the Jan WC.yeah rooney is definitely a better pick..if u think he would score well then get him now.

When you consider Zaba's attacking threat you keep ignoring Demi's. Demi offers very good goal threat. He may be old but he knows how to connect the header in set-pieces. I'm not sure whether he's more Bap favourite than Zaba. If that's true coupled with the fact that Zaba may miss Burnley game then Demi is the man to get for £0.5m cheaper.

Demi is an excellent pick until the January wildcard, but not after that as we all know....
I believe Zaba is due to attacking points during the next gameweeks, but rotation threat is there to stay, which is annoying. Strong bench needed to cover this risk, if go for Zaba.City's next 3 fixtures after new year- eve, ARS, che. Don't want 6.4 City defender in my team. I'll leave Demi by that time. It's a WC month as well. 🙂
A 6.4 defender is well worth his money if he's putting up returns near the top of the scoring charts though... just look at Terry recently, 4 cs's in 5... or baines before this last little run. Money well spent
That's a valid point, but before goal-threat I consider game-time, and I'm very wary of Kompany returning at any time. Managers often over-exaggerate injuries, and Kompany looked reasonably fine walking off the pitch too. Its that uncertainty that makes me overlook Demichelis' goal-threat, because it doesn't even factor into my thinking.
Think of it like this. I have a mental check-list, and if one thing doesn't agree with me, then I don't proceed to the next. Something like this for defenders:
1. Nailed-on-ness
2. Injury history
3. Fixtures and team form - CS potential
4. Attacking threat
Obviously varies slightly player to player but goal threat is the last thing I think about for CB's, but it can be a clincher in many cases, like with Terry vs Cahill, or Caulker vs Yun.
