Dusan Tadic is back for Southampton after returning to full training. Gylfi Sigurdsson is back in the frame for Swansea, Kevin Mirallas “has a chance” of making Everton’s home clash with stoke, Gabby Agbonlahor is available for Villa after the FA overturn his three-match suspension, whilst Chris Smalling could recover in time for United’s home encounter with Newcastle.

Tomas Rosicky, Yaya Sanogo and David Ospina are available for Arsenal’s home encounter with QPR. Laurent Koscielny “maybe has a chance” for Sunday’s trip to Upton Park, whilst Arsene Wenger has confirmed Aaron Ramsey may be on course to return against Southampton on New Year’s Day.

QPR’s left-back Yun Suk-Young is set to be sidelined “for a while” with the ankle injury that forced him off in last week’s home win over West Brom.

Gabby Agbonlahor is available for Villa’s trip to Swansea after the FA rescinded the three-match ban dished out for his dismissal against United last weekend. Paul Lambert also welcomes back Alan Hutton and Tom Cleverly, after both served one-match suspensions at home to the Red Devils, and is hopeful that Joe Cole will recover from a hamstring injury.

Sean Dyche has refused to rule out a return for Sam Vokes, after the forward continued his recovery from long-term injury with another 90-minute run-out for the reserves earlier in the week. Michael Duff is set to miss out once again for the Clarets.

Curtis Davies remains a doubt for Hull’s trip to Wearside due to a calf complaint. Fellow defender Alex Bruce is available after being forced off last weekend, though manager Steve Bruce has revealed Paul McShane is unlikely to feature unless he issues an apology on the back of recent off-field antics. The Tigers boss has recalled Thomas Ince and Maynor Figueroa from loan spells to deal with a lack of first-team options.

Manuel Pellegrini ruled out Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko until “the second part of January” during yesterday’s press briefing. The City boss also revealed the Vincent Kompany and Stevan Jovetic will “maybe” be back for Sunday’s match with Burnley – the latter has returned to training as he steps up his recovery from injury.

Chris Smalling has a chance of returning for United’s clash with Newcastle. Louis van Gaal revealed the rest of his injured players, including Luke Shaw, Marouane Fellaini and Ander Herrera, won’t recover in time for Friday.

Southampton roll up to Palace without suspended skipper Jose Fonte, though both Morgan Schneiderlin and Victor Wanyama are available after serving one-match bans last time out. Dusan Tadic has returned to full training after missing the 3-0 win over Everton due to injury.

Anthony Reveillere is ruled out for up to four weeks with a muscle injury for Sunderland, though Billy Jones and Emmanuele Giaccherini are back in contention.

Mauricio Pochettino is hopeful that midfielder Ryan Mason can recover from the knock that forced him off before the break during last weekend’s win over Burnley.

Graham Dorrans (calf) and Boaz Myhill (illness) are expected to recover for the Baggies home clash against City, though Victor Anichebe again remains doubtful due to an ongoing groin complaint.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, Jefferson Montero and Leon Britton are all back in full training and available for Swansea after missing last week’s win at Hull with minor injuries.

Kevin Mirallas and James McCarthy both “have a chance” of making Everton’s home clash with Stoke, Roberto Martinez has confirmed. Leon Osman and Tony Hibbert are set to miss to miss the Toffees’ next two matches over Friday and Sunday, though Darron Gibson may yet be in contention.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of Friday morning’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

once you are in the top 100/1k do you think you have to play more out of the box

    either with transfers or captain?

i'd rather than have a stab at climbing than just holding the position

    what do others think?

It's not quite the stage of the season for that I don't think. However, the fact that there's no Aguero means you won't be punished that much for a differential captain.

Why not just carry on playing the way did to get you there?

And keep on looking for opportunities to gain an edge over your rivals.

Towards the end of the season you may need to decide whether to go for risk and reward, play safe, or just do whatever you think is best.

I'm not happy owning RVP with Falcao hanging around. He looked like a natural finisher with no actual brain the other day. I doubt he is capable of anything other than hanging around in the box, and so negatively affects RVP.

How do you reckon Di Maria affects it?

Rooney needs to play up front, comfortably their best and proven striker. ADM in the 10 behind Wayne and RVP/Falcao and I'd be heavily interested.

The formation now, and the players playing, with the minutes they're getting, it's a no from me

Yeah, I agree on all counts. Except I already own RVP and it feels too kneejerky to swop him out for Giroud.

I'd say Di Maria is good news for both, but if I was getting a Utd forward I would definitely go for Falcao and not RvP.

I'd stay away from both and get on ADM, I had Falcao when he first came in and never returned what I hoped for, although he did struggle with injury/fitness to be fair

It worries me too as a RVP owner, but I think even if the worst case scenario of him being benched happens, he'll still get minutes. Full match or bit part he is capable of scoring. With other doubts on Boxing Day RVP is staying put, but I'm keeping an eye on the situation and may look to ditch him soon.

What to do with this lot?

    Heaton (Mannone)
    Clyne Ivanovic Chambers (Wisdom, Yun*)
    Hazard Sanchez Siggy Downing (Boyd)
    Rooney Costa Austin

    1FT and £1.0 ITB

No City cover, still have Mannone and Yun is injured.
I think the priority is to sell Yun, and I have $4.9 ITB

Seen a few on here mentioning getting in Jovetic for GW19 against Burnley (on Sunday).

But this is what Pellegrini actually said yesterday:

'Maybe Jovetic and Kompany will be back at the end of next week'.

So that's only a maybe for GW20 (next Thursday) from the sounds of it - doesn't look at all likely he'll bit fit next gameweek.

Dilemma of Welbeck or Sakho. Welbeck has the more favourable fixtures although will most probably be played out of position. Sakho will surly be a goal scorer in one of the two tough Hammers fixtures? Help.

Hi and Sorry for a long thread.

I have 2 FT's, had the worst gameweek this year and looking to move forward this gameweeek!

    Forster (mc carthy)
    Azpi, jagz, clichy, (wisdom, baird)
    Haz, siggy, downing, Alexis, (taylor)
    Costa, Rooney, Sakho
    1.4 itb

    Dilemna is:

As i need to use a FT this week, do I upgrade bench or do I make strategic moves:

    A- Sakho > Austin/Kane and/or Taylor > Boyd
B- Rooney> Austin/Kane and upgrade midfielder to City (yaya or silva)
C- Alexis > Yaya/silva and midfielder bench upgrade

    Any thoughts appreciated,

and am captaining Costa, i have a feeling and its inevitable, they guy missed 2 gloden opportunities last week, he wants to shine this gameweek for christmas!

    Merry christmas to all!
