This evening, we roll out the sixth round draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power, and look back at the conclusion to the fifth round ties.

Jimbojunior emerged as the top scoring manager in the Gameweek 19 match-ups, with a score of 54 points earning him £25 worth of free bets with Paddy Power and a round six showdown with Dub. Another high scorer was Mediocre Men, whose tally of 53 points proved too much for Granville’s score of 35.

Among the remaining 32 managers who made it through to the sixth round, as many as 13 are in the top 1,000. Never Trust Lukaku continues to be the competition’s highest ranked manager – he sits in 10th overall and faces Aaron Ramessi in round six.

Other notable round six ties are round four’s highest scorer United Nations, who faces HVT. Meanwhile, Gimli son of Gloin takes on Luke Costello, who is 42nd overall and the second highest ranked manager remaining in the tournament.

The full list of fifth round results can be found here, while the sixth round draw in full can be found here.

Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

Hiya guys, any idea what do here with 2FT's and 0.4 in the bank?

The few teams above me in my ML have similar teams so looking for promising differentials that could edge me past them, no idea who to change.

    Pantilimon
    Debuchy - Zabaleta - Azpilicueta
    Sanchez - Yaya - Silva - Hazard
    Kane - Costa - Benteke

Sorry if it has been discussed already or I'm late but here's my two cents....

How the hell can the FA justify charging Shelvey for violent conduct without imposing the same upon Sterling?

An absolute joke in my opinion. I don't know if it's sympathy for Liverpool in losing one of their best players or a case of the FA bullying a smaller team. The linesman was right beside Sterling when he did it, he hit Fernandez in the face, that's a red card on any part of the pitch....

Likewise, Shelvey and Cisse for elbowing. Can't fathom how an elbow to the face warrants a ban, yet a strike to the face does not.... absolutely ridiculous... and before anyone says I'm biased, I own Sterling and (c) him and if he had been sent off he would've deserved it....

The media made so little fuss about Sterling's. Sky dedicated a good 5 minutes at half time to Shelvey's. Not sure they even mentioned the Sterling one again.

Monday Night Football or Sky News? MNF discussed both at length and Neville specifically said that both Shelvey and Sterling should receive a ban but neither probably would because the ref/assistant clearly saw both incidents and therefore couldn't claim that they hadn't seen it. So I'm guessing Sky News kept quiet about it? (I haven't had it on.)

Ah, I didn't see that on MNF. The commentators basically ignored it after one replay.

I was out and about so didn't see that, sounds like something they'd do though. Later on Neville and Carra went through both situations.

But clearly there was some bias in the commentary if that's how they went on.

Fair enough, at least they mentioned both in that case. They, like us, were only speculating anyway with these things. The FA do what they like without answering to anyone, it seems.

This is all so much bollocks. Can't you lay off, now?

It is all Rodgers' fault, anyway.

I don't think it's bollocks. I couldn't care who gets banned but I'm fed up with terrible reffing decisions, this season more than most. Putting me right off bothering with the PL for a while tbh.

As for Rodgers, well you know exactly what I think of him.

They all equally piss me off. Stambouli's tackle on Carrick for example was an utter disgrace, Rooney's holding of Kane (I believe?) should have been a penalty etc. I am just as f**ked off about them, believe me.

Hi , just got on myself.
However the way I interpret it is that FA can only intervene respectively if the officials missed the incident. I guess they argued they missed the shelvey incident, but no way in hell could they say they don't see sterling's.
In my view of FA say their hands really are tied they should instead be looking to punish the officials for failing to act accordingly with the rules when they saw sterlings slap

      1. SW6
        • 13 Years
        11 years, 3 days ago

This. The refusal of the linesman to act on what he clearly saw is a bigger issue than Sterling's slap imo.

      2. Somalion
        • 15 Years
        11 years, 3 days ago

Your reasoning is spot on but if you watch the Shelvey one from the ref's point of view, there's no hope in hell he has missed it. He's looking directly at it.

I'm not sure, I think Shelvey's was a bit less obvious at full speed. Sterling's was so blatant.

You may be right. I'm not saying myself that they didn't see it. But at least with sheveys you're working on a balance of probability and objective views, which they have used to their advantage. In respect to sterling however the linemans got tangled up in the fight he was so close.

Nothing wrong with this side. Appears to me that even those team with major issues (not yours) on here can be sorted with two to four transfers. It's never worth using a wildcard for less than -8 so I see the majority being played late on

I've been blinded by ADM to, but I've come to the conclusion that if he's not playing he's not a season keeper.

I'm really not sure about what to do with this team .. 2 FT & 0.2 ITB

    Foster/Panti
    Baines/Duff/Hutton/Reid/Skrtel
    Hazard/Fabregas/Eriksen/Siggy/Downing
    Costa/Bony/Austin

    Considering Eriksen -> Sterling ..

i don't really like any of my captain options this week

austin - qpr looked poor against crystal palace
silva - jovetic in might damper chances, yaya out hurts city offensively
hazard - tough away game at spurs
sanchez - southampton away and they are looking much better
rooney - stoke away who have cleaned up their leaky defense recently
kane - playing a very tough defense at home vs chelsea

tempted di maria -> sterling (C) -4 against LEI

Sterling is 5th in minutes played of all PL midfielders.

Sterling has had 8 minutes rest since the last international break.

Evenin' all! Tempted to bench Terry (tot) and play Hutton (CRY).Thoughts? Been stung by benching Hutton a few times now. Current set up is:

    Foster (McCarthy)
    Baines Zab Terry (Hutton, Dummett)
