This evening, we roll out the seventh round draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power, and take a look back at the key events during New Year’s Day’s sixth round ties.

United Nations is fast becoming the manager to beat after clocking up his second prize for scoring the highest number of points in a round. A tally of 69 points has propelled him into 334th position overall, earning him another £25 worth of free bets from Paddy Power and setting him up for a round seven tie with Mince and Tatties. United Nations’ fielding of Harry Kane and Gael Clichy proved crucial to his victory.

The giant-killing accolade of the round goes to Aaron Ramessi. He may be ranked 33,436th overall but he saw off round six’s highest ranked manager Never Trust Lukaku, who is ranked 19th. Aaron Ramessi now faces CMIFLFC in the seventh round.

Other notable round seven ties include Mediocre Men, who knocked Granville out in round five, taking on Momalpashands, and community writer Saata facing up to Wolverine. Jimbojunior drew the short straw and meets round seven’s highest ranked manager Mjfdept, who is 65th overall.

Among the 16 remaining competitors, 13 have a rank within the top 10,000 and four are in the elite top 1,000 group.

The full list of sixth round results can be found here, while the seventh round draw in full can be found here.

Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

WC draft (from GW 23, and assuming Aguero plays some minutes vs Arsenal)

    Foster / Begovic
    Terry Bertrand Cresswell O'Shea Wisdom
    Hazard Sanchez Sterling Chadli Downing
    Aguero Austin Kane

    £0.8m in the bank

Not looked at keeper rotation much, so could be way off with that. Thoughts?

Looks decent. Probably would not want Austin. Cresswell also too expensive for me. Would like to consolidate Chadli and Downing into a heavy hitter too probably.

I think I agree about Cresswell, West Ham's fixtures aren't great from GW23 either. Debuchy decent alternative?

Yeah I'd rather have him than Cresswell. They are a mess right now but if Kos can stick in that side they should get better.

I have him currently actually. Sterling>Fab and Downing>Body could work.

Would give me 3 Chelsea though and make it harder to get Costa if Aguero gets crocked again!

    G'day all.

Need a bit of help with my team as I am unsure what to do - your help would be appreciated!

    De Gea / (McCarthy)
    Baines / Taylor / Hutton / (Duff *) / (Bertrand)
Sanchez / Fabregas / Yaya Toure / Downing / (Boyd)
    Austin / Costa / Lukaku

Any suggestions, or who would you bring in with a wildcard?

    Current WC Team:

    De Gea - Hamer

    Azpilicueta - Terry - Clichy - Hutton - Wisdom

    Hazard - Silva - Cazorla - Sanchez - Chadli

    Rooney - Kane - Austin

    How can i improve this?

Other players i'm keeping an eye on are: Forster, Bertrand, ADM and Falcao.

    1. Walsh
      • 12 Years

Wouldn't be doubling on Chelsea defense, but I can see it working out. Clichy should not be there. Rest looks okay.

And an Arsenal midfield. Also wouldn't be looking at Austin.

I already had Austin, i don't feel safe selling him right now. I'll give him one or two more GWs.

I could upgrade Clichy to Zabaleta but i don't want to lose De Gea...i don't know, i might go Forster and Zabaleta but De Gea seems like a good pick.

That's why i went with Clichy, he's the cheapest one. I'm tempted to go back to Bertrand but he needs to show me a little more, i don't know if the Saints are going back to their defensive consistency.

    Three projections:

1 Senegal should be bid on at 12/1 - They have Mane and Sakho!
2 If Senegal dont Marke the semis I will have Mane and Sakho in my GW24 WcTeam
3 Baines will be the ultimate WCDifferential

OK I did it, I played my WC, I am ashamed of myself.

This will be the team: (I haven't got aguero in yet, but easily done by downgrading Silva to Boyd)

    Pants / Hamer
    Clyne / Debuchy / Clichy / Hutton / Wisdom
    Haz / Fab / Sanchez / Downing / Boyd
    Aguero / Costa / Kane

If Aguero and Kompany dropped 0.1 each, can get Kompany over Clichy.

Decent? I know the tripple Chelsea will bother some. But not other mids/forwards producing at the moment.

Giroud is back from suspension and next two home fixtures are Stoke and Villa. He seems to have dropped off the FPL radar since his red card but was on fire before that. Might even be a nice captaincy option. Anyone else thinking of loading up?

I asked this earlier but noone seemed to know.

I activated my wildcard yesterday and made 10 transfers for free...but now when i try to make more transfers it's saying I need to take a hit, and my wildcard status still says 'available' instead of active or used. Anyone know what's happening there?

Definitely! If I didn't hit the activate wildcard it'd be coming us as like -44 when I try to make a transfer instead of -4

It would still come up as -4 when making extra transfers once you've already made transfers, I'd hit the activate wildcard button, just to cover any shock come the GW! :')

Looks like FPL Stats predicted the wildcard affected price changes slightly better tonight. They correctly predicted De Gea and were only 0.6% away from correctly calling Dummett's drop too.

FFF: 0 out of 3 risers and predicted risers, and 0/3 fallers and predicted fallers.
FPLS: 1/4 risers and predicted risers, and 0/2 fallers and predicted fallers (or 1/3 if you give them Dummett.

      1. white lightning

Thanks Walsh. The 5 teams who have conceded the least shots per game are Soton (9.3), Ars (10.2), Che (10.3 but 7.9 at home), MCI (10.5) & MU (10.8). Hart is the most nailed City (wanted Clichy but rotation) but I might reconsider due to fixtures. Shaw is a punt based on low ownership & has strong upcoming fixtures & with Young going down he should be nailed.
Austin is very consistent, averages 4.1 shots per game (2.3 in penalty area) & with Burnley up next should do well especially with half of the Burnley defence injured.

I might go Foster in for Hart. Would go Heaton but explanation above.

        1. Walsh
          • 12 Years

I would definitely pick Foster over Hart. Shaw can't stay on the pitch and has done nothing to date this season to warrant a pick and I wouldn't want to punt on a defender when generally there is more to gain by using your transfers on attack. I agree re Austin but they have gotten pretty much all of their good home fixtures out of the way already and I see him slowing down a bit. Still good value but with Kane such an obvious pick I'd be tempted to get someone a bit more expensive than Austin.

Hey guys.. finally decided to stop reading all your comments and actually interact for once.. you're all really helpful for information, hoping maybe I can contribute a little also..

Was wondering if you'd all rate my team.. Wildcard is active..

    Lloris

    Clichy Terry Cissokho

    Silva Fabregas Chadli Hazard Downing

    Ings Rooney

Bench - Guzan Kane Clyne O'Shea

My mate question with regards to this one is should I do Terry, Kane & Silva > Costa, Cresswell & Boyd..

The main points being City having a recognised striker back (Silva output dropping), Burnley with a good run of fixtures of Burnley and gambling on Costa taking more points than JT (Doesn't seem to get anywhere near the bonus returns JT takes)

Would really appreciate some insight.. Thank you all!

    1. Walsh
      • 12 Years
      11 years, 1 month ago

Good start for me. Lloris too expensive to go with for me, I'd find a cheaper guy to rotate with Guzan. I'd go with a defender from WBA with Pulis incoming. I'd take out Clichy. I'd go without Rooney. I'd go without Chadli and Silva as well. AdM could be a good pick if he is fit after the FA Cup tie. Alexis is tough to go without given his explosiveness and ownership levels I'd try and fit him in. Kane should be starting. I'd maybe take a punt on Jovetic or Giroud. I am not a fan of tripling on Chelsea attack, so I would either go with Haz and Fab or Haz and Costa. Tough call there. Good luck mate!
