We delve into the Gameweek 20 data this evening and serve up some of the most impressive numbers from New Year’s Day. QPR, Swansea, Aston Villa and Man City’s strikers arrive under the radar, whilst we also cast an analytical eye over in-form midfielders from Spurs, Leicester and West Brom.

Frank and either Coco or Counttom confirmed that they spoke to an FPL dev who said that wildcard transfers don't count, believe that was 2 seasons ago..I haven't seen anything to suggest this is different now, especially when you look at certain high owned players who aren't dropping despite being unavailable for ACON, and it coinciding tidily with the WC

The way my team is set up , it's nicely planned for the next 10 weeks , with rotation still likely with Chelsea ( 3 spots) as Tim mentions below , I would rather a high scoring player of the Bench , because I can afford it , problem is Chadli would mean double up with Kane , I would love Siggy but unaffordable and AJ seems a bit punt , Chadli means having to go for Wisdom over Lescott and o would rather have Lescott as I can see goals coming for him , it's a tough one

  7. Timtastic03

    Repost (kind of).
8 men seemed necessary given the rotation over the Xmas period. Is it any different as teams (Chelsea, spurs, Liverpool in particular) navigate through C1C, FA Cup and EL/UCL?

      Boyd = 8th man

    2. Jay_

I don't rate AJ as an FPL option, and I'm currently going against Spurs/Chelsea player (just had a look at their fixtures)
http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/matches/ (beat Burnley - another game in between the 2 C1C matches, and long shot but another draw there would mean an extra game during the only 1 week rest they have leading into March)

Will Kane only play PL matches? Will Soldado be trusted for the Tie against Fiorentina. March is just as bad if they progress in the cup matches..

My bigger concern is a heavy hitter being rested regularly. Chelsea have Pool in the C1C and possibly Spurs in the final. 2 matches against PSG. Mourinho can't trust his second team to get him through those

    Foster (Myhill)
Terry - Hutton - Wisdom (Bertrand, PvA)
Sanchez - Di Maria - Hazard - Siggy - Sterling
    Costa - Austin (Kane)

What do you think about my team?

    When Aguero is fit :

    Costa - Aguero
    Sterling - Fabregas
Downgrade Austin (maybe even Sanchez for some other Arsenal MID if he is out of form)

    Ings/Austin/Kane

I don't like the attack to be honest.

I think defence is too good and it hurts the attack. I can only really see Hazard and Alexis as regular captain choices. Fabregas and maybe Kane at a push.

I think you will be breaking the defence up to get Aguero soon if you go with this.

        thanks! appreciate your input

Ings is short term to take advantage of BUR's fixtures. Even with the current defense, I have enough in the bank to upgrade any of the strikers to Aguero with 1FT (yes i have over 7m in the bank! - ridiculous)

If RVP drops .1 before Saturday, I can afford

    Heaton Panti
    Terry Bertrand Tripper PvA Wisdom
    Sanchez Hazard AdM Fab Siggy
    Ings Kane RVP(Aguero )

    (Ings to Berahino gw25 )
Heaton can become Foster if Pulis effect kicks in

On my WC in GW23, which do you prefer?

    A) Pantilimon, 4.0, Bertrand, Siggy
    B) Pantilimon, Heaton, Bertrand, Johnson/Downing?

Leaning towards A (As Panti has great fixtures after GW23, and even picks up a high amount of save points in tough fixtures). Thoughts?

    1. Jay_
      11 years, 6 months ago

Near on exact same thinking as me , Panti alone is viable but I've been recently burned with 1 playing GK and reluctant to go down that road again tbh

Hmm yeah. But on the other hand, rotating keepers can leave value and points on your bench, unnecessarily.

Thinking A is the best way to go, as I want Bert over Alderweireld. Downing has poor fixtures, and don't think AJ is consistent enough.

Yep, A for me mate. You'd probably only play Heaton 3 times between G23-30 and Pantilimon could easily get enough save points in those games to almost match Heaton if he gets a CS, and better him if he doesn't.

Exactly my thoughts. Burnley have hardly been keeping clean sheets recently, anyway.

        Cheers mate.

    Please help!

    Guzan, Alnwick
    Zabaleta Clichy Skrtel Wisdom Bartley
    Downing Sterling Fabregas Hazard Sanchez
    Austin Kane Costa

    2FT, 0.4 ITB

What to do this gameweek? Transfer out Bartley maybe?
Won't be using my WC just yet.

    Any help would be great.

Bartley is probably most urgent player you need to sell.

Skrtel and double City defence isn't ideal in my opinion but they should be fine for this week at least.

I'd probably go Bartley to someone like Van Aanholt, Cameron maybe.

Would be more worried about double ManC over a simple 3.9 not playing to be honest.

Maybe I'm biased cause I dislike ManC defenders in FPL...

I'm not a huge fan of City defenders either. Bartley probably could just wait to be dumped on a wildcard.

But defence would be where I think he should concentrate his attention til he wildcards.

            Definitely.

Rest of team looks great Bob.

I think I'm just going to let Bartley rot until I WC.
Any suggestions for dealing with Skrtel and M.City defenders?
Wouldn't want to drop any of my current Chelsea players.

I'm pretty happy with my team for this week to be honest, but it seems a shame to let a FT go to waste.

      Can u afford :
      Austin Bartley > Trippier Ings

Would be great 2 week punt before you WC

Not convinced by Ings to be honest. Prior to Newcastle he hadn't scored in a long time, even if they were tough fixtures.

Boycott will be spinning in his crease.

Lol 😀 Boycott would have to bat the full 5 days to get what they have scored in the first session

The value of some forwards and midfielders this year is insane.

Austin 6.4 and on course for 200 points

      I'd bet he doesn't make 200.

Price/rotation and City not keeping enough CSs to justfy it.

Seems like all City defenders are getting rotated right now, even Hart!

Sour fixtures, no recent 'easy' clean sheets....
