Granville and I make a New Year return to the ScoutCast studio, battered and bruised by the events of Gameweek 20 which saw us both inexplicably bench Harry Kane and his 18-point haul.

Having wasted our big differential and haunted by constant reminders, my co-host and I struggle to make a recovery. Spitting the pips from our sour grapes, we do our best to justify our doomed decision-making, before attempting to salve the wounds with talk of the Winter Wildcard refresh around the usual batch of regulars.

    Can do pretty much anything, but I think the first move should be getting a Chelsea defender (Terry). So, Yun->Terry, and then wildcard next GW? Could also bring Kun for Benteke.

      Considered him highly before his GW7 13 pts haul. Got trashed here back then.

      On some CKs as well so yeah he's good. But I see some similarly-priced players like Chadli Siggy and Downing are more tempting.

    Will wait to get Aguero after Chelsea match, and that means i'm giving RvP and Costa 3 game to play and to chose which one to get rid gor Kun. Its probably going to be Costa because he just dont get any 10+ point hauls any more and is every game so close to a red card that i dont consider him capitan option any more, and pretty soon he's goin to get 10th yellow and 2 game ban.
    Also, in defence i'm going with PvA and Trip combo for 3rd spot for a while hoping that they could prove as nice differentials with thier nice fixtures and atacking potential. Rest of the team is pretty standard.

    Going to start off by saying I have Kane and think he's great value, a bandwagon that we can't ignore.

    However, he will not score 18 points evry week. Tottenham won't score 5 every week. Given the few chances he had last week (members look at the stats) he was insanely lucky to get the score he did.

    If he doesn't produce in the next few weeks, what's your bail out plan, especially for those that bought him cheap and therefore may be reluctant to get rid - or will you hold regardless?

        Every single team i've seen has Hutton, Wisdom, Bertrand, Terry, Haz, Sanchez, ADM, Kun and Kane. Thats 9 players in practically everyone's team. Far too template this year - bit dull

          Meh template is always gonna be around.

          I think 2 years ago were even more template. Now there's at least some options for going 3-5-2 or 3-4-3. Costa vs Fabregas. Downing Siggy Chadli providing options, etc.

            And so it's between consistency with Cesc or potentially missing a Costa explosion
            Although I'm also torn because I think there are also better striker and midfield options than both so may just go terry and hazard for Chelsea and say silva over Cesc and giroud over Costa

            No I just use it as a term really based on fixtures as you know Nabil Utds fix are nice so I'd like to get a player into my team hence Adm,
            And as you know Aguero is fixture proof and I would always have him in my team
            And as you know when City are at full tilt Silva tends to assist the assister!!

              Yeah. Silva is definitely out when Kun is up and running.

              The big Q is regarding manu "cover", fixtures are great but there are 2 concers:

              1. getting the right manu player, not just for the sake of it
              2. other player that may be worth getting

              somewhat torn between ADM/Chadli/siggy with my WC team here
