With Gameweek 21 done and dusted, we dig deep into the data in our regular Sunday evening article. A trio of in-form midfielders at Arsenal, Man City and Swansea are amongst tonight’s topics, whilst we also assess United’s alarming attack, Burnley’s raiding right-back and the main men for West Brom and Palace as Tony Pulis and Alan Pardew kick-start their respective stints at the helm with a victory.

Thanks. Fekking Benteke. Dont think its wirth getting Aguero in just to save the 0.1 on Benteke, if he gets injured in training or something i`ll kill myself.

Yeah. Havent done that all season, not about to start now. I even have 1.2 ITB over whats required to do that transfer, so im just gonna save and accept the fact that getting Benteke was a huge mistake in the first place.

    On WC.

    Foster/4.0
    PVA(or Wisdom)/Terry/Bertrand/Fonte/Wasi
    Sanchez/Hazard/ADM/Silva/4.2
    Aguero/Austin/Kane

Struggling with whether or not I want Terry/Ivan and downgrade Fonte + Fabregas over Silva or ADM.

Can anyone convince me that there is a better option? Above leaves me with 0 itb

  4. Sz21

    Gilks dropping
    Boyd rising

    Both these will affect me.
I am sure some other prices will be adjusted this week too.

Is it worth hanging out with my team and WCing next week.
Have 2 fts and 3m in the bank so can bring in Aguero and one more punt.
losing some value tho i feel.

Still have my first WC too.
Just wondering if its really worth waiting it out.

Doubling up on Southampton's defence a good/bad idea? Like this:

    Foster
    Terry Bertrand Clyne
    Hazard Sanchez ADM Cesc
    Kane Aguero Austin

    Myhill Boyd PvA Naylor

He's worth trying for a couple of weeks I think given his price and fixtures. If he doesn't look good then I'll probably downgrade one of the Southampton defenders and bring in Yaya.

        1. NABIL - FPL otai
          11 years, 9 months ago

Your call. But i think Downing is a better pick if you still have your WC and intend to use it GW23/24, or I'd even take a punt on Tadic now.

    Morning guys.

Simple query, is it worth to take a hit to get Kun this week? At the expense of Rooney.

    1. Walsh
      11 years, 9 months ago

      Not for me.

      1. NABIL - FPL otai
        11 years, 9 months ago

That's my thinking. Feel so wrong to drop Roo against QPR this week. But then he's been a pain in the ***.

        1. Walsh
          11 years, 9 months ago

I mean I think holding Rooney is not wise, but I still don't think getting Aguero in for a hit is a good move this week.

          1. NABIL - FPL otai
            11 years, 9 months ago

for a hit or not for a hit - that's the question.

It looks idiotic to take a hit when I have a WC (n fact 2 WCs) intact, but then mass will (c) him this week, and he will rise in price quickyl, so I think the temptation is there.

            1. Walsh
              11 years, 9 months ago

Temptation definitely there. I just wouldn't get him in for a hit is all.

    2. Saint & Reevesy

Doesn't matter to me. Strange things occur in the winter months and I'd want a more well rounded and reliable defense as a whole. Same applies for Albrighton. You could be in trouble if you have a week where you get a couple of injuries or something.

        1. Saint & Reevesy
          11 years, 9 months ago

He's brilliant for us in the way he occupies a back 4, his hold up and link up play is class and brings others into the game. Sadly from an FPL perspective you don't get points for any of that and as good as he's been he is wasteful in front of goal, take a look at the stats in this article...2 shots on target over the last 6 game weeks. We haven't played badly in those games and have created plenty of chances.

          1. Carrick Doesn't Deserv…

With Toby Alderweireld seemingly out for at least a few weeks, which would be your preferred option?

    A) Bertrand + Puncheon (short term 4th mid differential in view of fixtures since everyone is running with almost the same team + ~1.7m in the bank to switch to another in form 4th mid if necessary)

    B) Gardos/Chambers (main concern that they are short term. Gardos looked really good last night though) + Tadic

Leaning towards A, though Tadic's underlying stats has been pretty great even without taking into account his goal yesterday

    1. ronmadpirlo

      A

    2. The Non Flying Dutchman

Difficult to justify Puncheon or Tadic as great as they were considering Chadli has form and fixtures on his side.

Shouldn't worry about ownership. Just choose based on who you think will get more points.

        1. ronmadpirlo
          11 years, 9 months ago

Defense isn't great but you could get some CS there. Rooney is a midfielder.

        2. Walsh
          11 years, 9 months ago

Yeah I mean he's playing reverse OOP and is far too expensive for that. I don't think he's a good FPL pick at all right now until he gets a position change which may or may not happen. Your defense is a bit of a mess but I think there is way more points potential in making your transfers in attack and especially getting Kun in now and get some price rises. You will probably not get many points from defense this gameweek but so it is sometimes. It's either that or I would WC now.

ROoney --> Kun and Yaya --> Chadli then use the extra to strengthen defence on WC

Yaya, Rooney > Aguero + ...idk Sterling, ADM, Tadic take your pick

I'd really like Everton and Baines to start performing so I can steal some points from my rivals in the coming weeks. I'm sure their funds are all tied up with investment in the usual suspects.

I held Baines thru that recent shocking run, sold for Wisdom this gw past.

Now I'm on the wildcard I'm tempted again haha

I'm so tempted to get him back in. Have the exact funds for him.

My team with Baines would be:

        Foster, Hamer
        Baines, Terry, Bertrand, Wisdom, Wasi
Sanchez, Hazard, Di Maria, Fab, Boyd
        Austin, Aguero, Kane

Guys no idea what to do at all?
    1ft and 5.2itb

    Adrian
    Terry, Zabaleta, Hutton, Naylor, Davies
    Sanchez, Hazard, Silva, Sigurdsson, Boyd
    Austin, Costa, Kane

should I WC now was going to hold off?

    1. OneTwo
      11 years, 9 months ago

Boyd to ADM...WC this time next week and reap the reward of two weeks to fiddle with your team

    2. Walsh
      11 years, 9 months ago

That defense is kind of a mess. Could just spend a transfer on Zab...depends on how many changes you want to make and how badly you want Aguero in right now.

      1. OneTwo
        11 years, 9 months ago

Zabaleta could eat arsenal D for lunch (if he's not rested)...especially if Nacho plays again.

      Cheers all.

Yeah defence is a shambles for this week. I think I can hold off Aguero for this week due to the fixture but I could easily regret that. Was thinking of bringing in a Southampton Def but for who and which 3 to play? Would you play Boyd ahead of Sigurdsson against away to Che?

  23. CunkOnFPL
    11 years, 9 months ago

    Foster (Krul)
    Berty | Reid | Zaba (Duff | Dummett )
Downing | Haz | Sanchez | Silva (King)
    Austin | Costa | Kane

    2 FT, 3.5 ITB

    a. Austin, Zaba ➡ Kun, Wasilewski
    b. Austin, Silva ➡ Kun, Chadli
    c. Costa, Silva ➡ Kun, Chadli
    d. Costa, King ➡ Kun, Chadli (benching dilemma)
    e. other. ?

    1. OneTwo
      11 years, 9 months ago

Why not just Costa to Kun?

      1. CunkOnFPL
        11 years, 9 months ago

        could be
I'd lose some Costa cash and probably I'd want him back later

    2 FT (not wc'ing) and 2.2 itb

    Pants, Fabianski

    Naylor, Cresswell, Azpi, Dummett, Hutton

    Sanchez, Hazard, Downing, Sterling, Silva

    Ings, Austin, Costa

    What would you do,

    Azpi to Terry or Berty/Clyne?

just having a look at my gameweek history and I have had 11 red arrows and 9 greens arrows and have a rank of 9,649

how is everyone else ratio of red to green arrows??

    1. NABIL - FPL otai
      11 years, 9 months ago

14 greens, 6 reds. The arrow doesn't matter, it's basically the position.

      1. Saint & Reevesy
        11 years, 9 months ago

        Agreed.

Captain pick is a massive determiner, too massive IMO. Take this week all those that captained Sanchez over Haz basically it doesn't much matter what the rest of the team is doing you're getting a big green arrow.......

      2. djenzio
        11 years, 9 months ago

i am very happy with my rank and thought it was strange I've had more red arrows and than green.

    2. Saint & Reevesy
      11 years, 9 months ago

15 green 5 red - rank similar to yours around 9700 odd - I seem to have the ability to make tiny shuffles forward and giant leaps backward.......

      1. djenzio
        11 years, 9 months ago

i have the opposite problem. started very well then took a massive drop, then went from 300k to 8k rank and have been floating around there ever since!

Took a 4 point hit to leave me with:

    DDG, given
    Terry, Bertrand, wasiluski, Hutton, Bartley
    Haz, Sanchez, Silva, Downing, albrighton
    Aguero, Falcao, Kane

Is it worth wildcarding to sort out the dross or should I stick?

    1. Kane Toads
      11 years, 9 months ago

The team is good as is.Perhaps hold the WC to see Aguero goes. If Aguero is good long term you can drop Silva for Fab or ADM etc.

      stick

  29. Retrosynth

    1. Oz lotto

if you're going to do it you need to do it in the next few minutes (if money is an issue) because Sanchez is going up

Haz -> Sanchez is too sideways. Just get Sanchez on your WC.

  30. jaredwilliams
    11 years, 9 months ago

    Foster - Myhill
    Gardos - Luis - Hutton - PVA - Wisdom
    Hazard - Sanchez - ADM - Chadli - JWP
    Kun - Costa - Kane

Thoughts on this WC team lads?

Luis seems like a big risk to me not being nailed. Got Terry/Ivan if you have the funds.
