With gremlins in the machine, the clock was ticking on this week’s ScoutCast as Granville and I are hurried into service.

Displaying all the urgency and determination of Ade Akinfenwa at the end of season buffet, we waste no time in driving through the ScoutCast regulars, whilst weighing the merits of when to swoop for a certain “essential” Argentine.

    About to pull the trigger on this WC squad. Thoughts appreciated.

    Pantilimon - Krul
    Terry - Jones - Trippier - Wisdom - PvA
    Sanchez - Hazard - Di Maria - Sterling - Tadic
    Aguero - Kane - Bojan

    Jones is a purely fixture-based punt for the medium-term. Can switch out for Southampton/Arsenal if it doesn't work out.
    Trippier gives me a great option for the next few weeks until his fixtures sour, but my defensive cover is sound.
    Bojan will be benched most weeks, he has great fixtures and in my opinion will be a better first sub than the likes of Boyd. At 5m it's a steal.

        Exactly. Or even downgrade Sterling if he isn't performing. I feel the 3-4-3 limits the flexibility of potential transfers. 3-5-2 gives me more freedom.

      Look at most chances conceded in the box ... Shots conceded alone is a bit misleading if it means a lot of them are pot shots from range due to frustration... Then don't pick a Spurs defender....

      Wouldn't choose Rose. Too much potential for rotation with Davies. Double Southampton and Triple West Brom is risky too. Front 8 is nice though.

        I think WBA under Pulis will return excellent defensive points. SOU fixtures are good enough. Rose is a short term punt - Trippier looks to be injured so I'm monitoring that.

          Fair enough. It could pay off, but I just think it's better to spread that risk. I'd go Heaton to Myhill and then upgrade Baird to someone like PvA if possible.

            I had PVA GW1-5. Don't rate him.

            I like the burnley/WBA rotation... the only 'maybe' is Rose, but his recent efforts and attacking threat give me a nice differential with Wisdom to come in.

      Downing's form this season has been brilliant. Best of all the low price mids IMO. More consistent compared to Chadli/Siggy too.

      And he's cheaper.

      Fonte organises the defence so yes their absence will make a difference but as long as Fonte is on the pitch they will be better than most of the other PL defences.
