With gremlins in the machine, the clock was ticking on this week’s ScoutCast as Granville and I are hurried into service.

Displaying all the urgency and determination of Ade Akinfenwa at the end of season buffet, we waste no time in driving through the ScoutCast regulars, whilst weighing the merits of when to swoop for a certain “essential” Argentine.

While this week’s low fat episode may come as a treat for some, we’re working towards a return to the full fat, high cholesterol live Hangout from next week. Keep ‘em peeled for news on that.

For now, grab this rapid recording via this link or stream the swiftness via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So part of my decision to activate my WC was to ship naylor, siggy and downing and to get a budget defender, Boyd and some mid priced mid to avoid rotation nightmares and have some left ITB to play with...

but now am considering Chadli and puncheon and wollscheid or PVA hence making more rotation nightmares and more decisions to make on goal scoring mids.

In short, what do I do?

I don't think it's that much of a rotation nightmare tbh, Boyd is very benchable despite his 4 goals so far. I'm thinking about a Haz, Sanchez, Puncheon, Chadli, Boyd midfield

I think Haz + Sanchez is essential on a WC. Then 2 punts with boyd as a 5th.

      - markovic
      - arnautovic
      - moses
      - barkley
      - oscar

      etc..

Who knows what team LVG will put out or in what formation? I don't think even his players do. That's one problem with ADM.

The 2nd problem is with Rooney, RVP, Falcao, Mata, Herrera and Fellaini all potentially in the team who knows where the goals and assists will fall? I sure don't.

The 3rd problem is that in his career he has been more of an assist player than a goalscorer. That reduces his attraction somewhat.

Having said all that I do plan to have ADM in my wildcard team when I take it on Saturday. But I only plan to keep him for 5 weeks during United's very good fixtures. I'm not very happy with having him but there is are uncertainties about every other United player as well. It looks like ADM's the best shot but I'm not that confident about it.

If he performs really well in the next 5 weeks I'll reassess. But more than likely he's out around GW 28/29.

"Rising faster than anyone" is a bit misleading. He's rising at 0.5% per hour. I have seen players rising 10 times that fast.

No player is actually rising very fast at the moment according to FFF. Probably because many of the transfers in are on wildcard which don't seem to be counting in the usual way.

If I had to guess I'd say next rise on Sunday morning meaning only 0.1 this GW. The majority of rises in the last 2 weeks have been at the weekend when the wildcard transfers from the previous week are counted. At least I think that's what happening.

fplstatistics and fantasyfootballfix are usually pretty good for rises, less accurate for falls.

But they're less accurate than usual during the January Wildcard season.

In iteam he's classed as a forward. I have Ings, Costa and Sanchez now. In that format you can make transfers during the games, so Costa out for Aguero once he's played.

Thanks for help above...but i'm now thinking i might double on SUN and WBA for a bit. I've got another WC to rectify if (and when) it proves a terrible idea. Back line would look like this:
    Panti (Hamer)
    PVA Terry Bertrand Widsom Baird

Think Panti will get more save points and away clean sheets than Foster. PVA in for SUN's home fixtures. Then Wisdom and Baird...i can d'grade Wisdom if Baird keeps his place.

Go for it or keep Lord Hutton despite next 3?

    1. Walsh

I'd rather keep Hutton and diversify. Double WBA and single Sunderland.

Interesting. How come Walsh? Sunderland's fixtures look v good for a while now whereas Villa's look tough + no vlaar

so you'd effectively go Hutton over PVA? thanks

        1. Walsh
          • 12 Years
          11 years, 1 month ago

I think over the long run it will be a good move. Sunderland are a tricky team to me in predicting clean sheets...they have a lot of great home games against poor opposition from here on in but they really need to start getting three points out of their home games instead of one so I feel they may be a bit more open at home and will be a tougher predicting team for clean sheets. They play well defensively on the road and have proven to play well defensively at home against tough opposition. Just think that Panti will be enough there. Hutton is a good rotating cog to have at the back with WBA players.

Thanks - very reasoned response. Agree on Sunderland and unpredictability, hence why i prefer Panti over Foster i think (just play him every week).

PVA is tempting because of those fixtures and cos he likes to get forward. Hutton has served me well though and agree on the WBA/AV rotation (despite it being pants for the next month or so!). Thanks for the input, will have another think

Yeah it is between the two and can't split them so went with Chadli as I have Kane. Not that that makes much sense.

Yeah I still think Downing is the best bench option of the lot, ILB. He will probably be back out on the wing and I can't think Hull will do anything other than park the bus at Upton Park. Just saying. I will be benching Downing myself 🙂

Yeah except he will probably need a period of adjustment. He's basically not played at all in the Premier League and players seldom set the world on fire straight away. He could be one who could come alive in March. Definitely one to keep an eye on, though!

    Good Defence on WC

    Forster (Hamer)
    Terry, Kosc, Jones, (WAS, Wisdom)

Could change Kosc or Jones but not many options. Who else could I get?

Still think Kosc will be in and out of the team with injury, and Man Utd defenders are even worse.

I'd be looking at Clyne and/or Bertrand.

    Fabianski Panti

    Cresswell Naylor Hutton Clyne Dummett

    Sterling Sanchez Downing Silva Hazard

    Ings Costa Austin

    2.6 ITB 1FT

I feel like an idiot ignoring Kane, but Austin and Ings aren't bad bets this week.

    I'm WC'ing next week so I need a good 1 week trade.

Hutton to someone most likely to get baps + CS would be nice. What do you think?

Depends who you want to keep in the wildcard team and would lose value on by trading out and back in. But Baines looks a great 1 week punt to me. Or Shawcross.

Haven't been on much this week, what's the general opinion on
    - Chambers v Bellerin to replace Debuchy?
    - Baird nailed?
    - Anything at all on the Stoke defence?

    1. Walsh
      • 12 Years
      11 years, 1 month ago

Will probably be Chambers, but it really should be Bellerin. I would avoid as Chambers has been sort of a mess in general and simply cannot deal with pacey wingers. Bellerin looked the business last game and seems like his confidence is growing.

Baird is a maybe...still probably a wait and see. Seen some say that Pocognoli was not fit last couple....who knows if he buys another fullback...a tricky one to call. Clearly the most upside of the cheap cheap defenders but could be a non-playing dud in a matter of 1-2 gameweeks.

Stoke defense, despite fixtures, I think are probably best to avoid. Cameron the only one I would consider but they seem to ship goals to anyone.

Cheers! Gained value on Wisdom but that 0.4 let's me do so much more. Currently on Cameron but don't know if anyone other than ShawX is nailed, could all go horribly wrong in 2 weeks

          • 12 Years

Yeah that is certainly the case. I agree only Shawcross seems nailed and he hardly represents good value. I'd probably just look elsewhere altogether.

    Panti (Krul)
Terry - Jones - Trippier (Wisdom, PvA)
Sanchez - Hazard - Di Maria - Chadli (Boyd)
    Aguero - Rooney - Kane

Only issue is double United and double Spurs. Thoughts on how to fix this?

I got to say. I enjoy watching Madrid a lot more than Barcelona. They always play an attacking game and score all types of goals. Barcelona's trickey is great but sometimes their build-up takes too long.
