Our Friday lunchtime look at the PlayON Player Price List arrives once again as the hours count down until another deadline. As always, we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

PlayON have now extended their deadline for submitting your teams so you can now tinker with your starting XI right up until the first kick-off each week – tomorrow that’s 12.45pm, when Hull and Newcastle get the action underway at the KC Stadium.

This week, PlayON have over £2,000 in Guaranteed Pots, including £300 of FREE ENTRY games – click here to find out more.

Goalkeeper – Tim Krul
The Dutchman may have conceded twice against Chelsea and Southampton since returning from injury but prior to being sidelined, Krul’s four clean sheets in five highlights his potential against less threatening opposition. A trip to misfiring Hull, who have failed to score in ten of the last 14 Gameweeks bodes well and the Tigers’ lack of bite makes the 1.2%-owned Krul a real bargain buy at just 6.2m in this week’s PlayON Player Price List. Fraser Forster’s total of ten clean sheets is more than any other keeper in the Premier League this term. Coming in at 7.5m, the Southampton stopper faces a depleted Swansea side that are without suspended playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson for the St Mary’s clash and, having conceded just once in the last three home outings against Everton, Chelsea and Arsenal, he looks a strong shout for another shut-out. So far, Forster is owned by 18.3% of Fantasy managers heading into the weekend.

Defender – Phil Jones
A home clash with Leicester offers Man United the chance to avenge their Gameweek 5 loss at the King Power Stadium earlier in the season. Whilst Louis van Gaal’s side have struggled for goals, their resilience has afforded opponents just two goals in the last four rounds of league fixtures. With that in mind, we’ve gone for Phil Jones (7.2m, 28.7% ownership) as a left-field pick – the centre-half has been handed a share of corners recently and his penchant for earning interception and clearance points has helped him earn three scores of 1000+ points in PlayON over the last four Gameweeks. Laurent Koscielny (8.3m) is the essential defender this week. Having kept out Stoke and Man City in the last two, Arsenal go looking for a third clean sheet in a row against an Aston Villa side that have failed to notch in the last five. Having scored in his previous Emirates appearance in a 3-0 win over Stoke, the Frenchman looks an in-form option at both ends of the pitch right now and has already persuaded 36.6% to snap up his services for this one.

Midfielders – Jason Puncheon
With goals in each of his two league appearances under Alan Pardew, the Palace winger looks an absolute bargain at just 8.2m this weekend. Owned by 28.3% of PlayON managers, Puncheon has been integral to his new manager’s perfect start at Crystal Palace and with visitors Everton conceding eight goals in their last three away trips, the Eagles will be keen to go on the offensive once again and continue their ascent up the table. Since returning from injury, Angel Di Maria (13.3m) has failed to replicate his early season form in spite of a recent move up front. The 33%-owned Argentine’s out of position potential could be worth considering at home to Leicester, though – Di Maria notched a goal and assist against the Foxes back in September and he’ll fancy his chances of replicating those returns against a defence with two clean sheets in the last ten Gameweeks.

Forwards – Jonathan Walters
A home clash against QPR bodes well for Stoke’s chances this weekend. Given that the R’s have lost every match so far this season, Mark Hughes’ side will be strongly favoured to emerge triumphant, despite the loss of Bojan to a season-ending knee injury. Fielded up front for the Potters in recent matches, Walters earned the assist for the Gameweek 22 win at Leicester and was amongst the goals in Monday’s FA Cup win at Rochdale – at a price of 7.5m and owned by just 4.3% of managers, he could be a budget gem this weekend. We were planning on rolling out Alexis Sanchez here but with doubts over the Chilean’s hamstring, we’re turning to his Arsenal team-mate Olivier Giroud instead. At a price of just 10.6m, the Frenchman has scored four times in his last five league appearances and looks an equally potent threat against a defence with a single clean sheet in their last five road trips – already, over 40% of PlayON managers have drafted him in for this one.

Team good to go for the GW? Bench in correct order?

    Ospina

    Fonte / Jones / PvA

Alexis / Haz / ADM (vc) / Oscar

    Kun / Giroud (c) / Kane

    (Puncheon, Wollscheid, Baird, Foster)

I'd consider playing Wolly instead of PVA. Apparently Stoke defensive stats for the last 6 GW are only second to Chelsea. On the other hand PVA is more attacking...

Very similar to my team though, almost identical so I like it a lot! You feel like it's fine going without a Chelsea defender?

For the time being. Plan to downgrade ADM and upgrade Jones to Cahill/Terry after the potential GW27 blank.

    Krul
    Terry, Koscielny, Clyne
    Sanchez, Hazard, ADM, Cazorla (C)
    Aguero, Ings, Kane

    Panti, Boyd, Cameron, Baird

Looks like a good time to use it, tbh!

Costa has to go, Naylor, Silva and Austin also not looking like good bets. And with Alexis potentially out you might want a better 5th mid than Marney as a sub this week. I'd pull the trigger.

He's been their best player after Alexis this season, no way he's going to be benched every week.

Will probably rotate with Walcott, enough to destroy both as FPL prospects unless Alexis/Ozil are injured long term.

He's not some bit part player, he's just been injured and steadily making his return. His minutes have been carefully managed, not piece meal because he's out of favor..

Not saying he's bit part but with Alexis signed, he's fallen down the pecking order.

There's only 3 roles in attacking midfield and Alexis and Ozil are nailed on for 2 of them when fit.

That leaves Walcott, Cazorla, Ox to battle it out for one position. Whilst I feel in a one-off game when all fit Walcott would start, they'll certainly be rotated over the rest of the season, particularly with them having the CL.

                    Blind, FPL-centric view imo.

In all honesty, one of them will probably get injured and the others will become more secure.

I don't think so. Arsene has no real pace wide besides Wally. He's a hard worker and proven in the PL, both things that Ozil is not.

True, but Ozil was a 40M signing (matters although it shouldn't).

Can't see him being on the bench very often.

Ozil should be benched of the 4. He's easily the least dependable and the laziest. He's a massive flop in my opinion given his price tag, which sucks because he's a brilliant player (at least was in WC and at RM).

Walcott will start if Alexis misses out I would have thought.

But long term he's behind Alexis and Ozil and will probs rotate with Cazorla.

And that's before we even consider Welbeck or Ox in wide roles.

Sanchez and Walcott play on the opposite flanks

Alexis has played out wide right almost as often as he's played out left.

He can play in any of the attacking roles.

You're wrong if you think Walcott will be a bit part player. He is being eased in. Wenger loves Wally. There is nothing to back your claims that a match fit Walcott won't start.

See above, not saying he won't be first choice.

There's equally nothing to back up your claims that Walcott will start (last season is irrelevant, they now have Alexis and Welbeck as additional options).

Walcott has started for Wenger when fit in the past. He's now nearing match fitness. It doesn't matter what you think, what matters is what Wenger thinks, and he is a big fan of Walcott. You calling people deluded for thinking that, is hypocritical as you're saying Walcott stays on the bench when Sanchez is fit....nothing to back that up

So you pointedly ignore my point on it being a different squad.

Obviously it only matters what Wenger thinks, but you have now better idea on his thoughts than I do. (And don't go back to last season again!)

Well none of us know for certain as we're not Wenger. We simply don't know, it's a forum for opinions! I have put my point across logically, that's all we can do.

You can't prove one way or not what will happen until it does.

Wow. YOU are the one who says walcott will be benched when Sanchez is back. Nothing to back that up. When Walcott is fit, Wenger has always played him. That's a fact and completely relevant!! There's no point just looking at this season with Walcott, because he hasn't been available. Don't call people deluded because they don't agree with your opinion because they are just offering their opinion.

Have you read a word of what I've posted?!

I have not said that Walcott will be permanently benched at all, merely that he will be rotated as he's behind Ozil and Alexis in the pecking order (I think 99% would agree with that order so I'm going to say the other 1% are deluded).

You can't accurately compare the squads, playing over Ox a year ago is a totally different prospect to playing over Alexis/Cazorla now.

As I've said above, we don't know what Wenger will do! It's impossible to say for sure, I've given my opinion, you've given yours. Both have us have given reasons behind our thoughts, neither of us can 'back it up' with fact. That's just not possible.

                        You said that

Was said mostly in jest, surely you can tell from this extended conversation that I don't think he'll be on the bench every game?

Though it is very plausible that Walcott starts this GW and is then on the bench for the next one if you want to take every word literally.

It's fun though. He has great potential.

Good to go? I know Sturridge will probably come on from the bench but he has 3 very nice fixtures in the 3 games Costa is out (WHM, eve, TOT)..

    Captain?

    Krul
    Terry PvA Clyne
    ADM Walcott Chadli Hazard
    Sturridge Agüero Kane

    Subs: Pantilimon Boyd Wisdom Cameron

I think Liverpool want revenge on West ham after 3-1, Everton away is always high-scoring and Tottenham at home is also high-scoring, 5-0, 4-0 etc

Anyone else gambling on Fabregas playing? I have Boyd to take over form Sanchez, but if Fab doesn't play, I am a player down. Already used WC, and this weeks FT on that donut, Costa.
