The weekend cup defeat by in-form Liverpool may have paused Palace’s recent momentum but the narrow 2-1 reverse means Alan Pardew can now concentrate solely on Premier League matters. After producing three wins and a draw in five top-flight matches since their new manager rolled up to Selhurst Park last month, the Eagles now sit five points clear of the drop zone with 13 rounds of fixtures remaining.

Bearing in mind that Palace managed just three wins in their first 20 league outings prior to Pardew’s installation, it’s fair to say their form is very much on the up. With that in mind, we turn to the latest addition to our members section – the Team Profiles and Comparison Tool – to assess the impact of the former Newcastle boss as he looks to replicate Tony Pulis’ 2013/14 heroics and steer Palace to safety. These tools allow us to pinpoint any areas of improvement and/or issues of concern, in addition to highlighting the players who have benefitted most of all.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Bellerin or Puncheon if Defoe is out? Or take a hit for another ST?

Posted this in a comment previously and thought I check peoples thoughts........

I can see a lot of Costa captains out there this week, with 117K people bringing him in this week with a mid week game to come (hoping for a slight injury to keep him out this weekend) and a blank to come.

Then again it seems to be the casuals year this year!

My thought is that it takes a special type of person to wish injuries on other random people.

Fair enough I agree with that, I didn't mean to wish him an injury, just more from a FPL point of view with so many brining him in pre-CL game

Im sure you didnt, i just felt the need to be a little deuchebaggy and saw an opening. However if were staying on topic, i think Costa is probably the best pick for captain this week, atleast tied with Kane/Aguero imo. However since i will not be owning him, i also hope he blanks.

Probably my 4th pick for this week. Does not mean im right or that Hazard isnt the best option, its just my opinion.

I can see west gam playing defensive and concerns over agueros minutes. Don't own costa. Hazard usually come good for me, fancy him the most this week.

They may try, but its a London derby and Kane usually doesnt care about how the opposing team try to play. Like i said, its pretty close for me between those four, but i think Aguero has by far the biggest potential.

The counter argument is that people on here , myself included , over think and ignore obvious picks like Costa , Ramsey and Yaya and cover it up with the usual line about casuals getting lucky .

Should have been more specific in my post, I don't mean hes a bad pick or a casual pick but he will not rise until Thursday at the earliest and Chelsea play tomorrow in which he could get injured. People may have been best to leave it until later in week.

Yes, it seems reasonably accurate over longer stretches of games though which is good for picking defenders and keepers. I was just wondering why it would recommend captaining a player with a lower projected score. It's defunct, is the answer. Thankyou!

The aguero thing is due to the risk he does not play, if confirmed fit in pressers his score will shoot up.

Sterling away at soton the 2nd worst attacking fixture on the calendar and coming back from injury so we don't yet know if he will start, who it suggesting you play instead? Tho I'm probably going to suggest you play sterling anyway

It gets updated after pressers which is a more useful time to use it for team selection.

Agree with fas, go with your gut and just use it to help where you really are 50/50

Keep Benteke cos Tim will make him a better player. Could be great differential. I don't know much about other two though.

Is it worth transfer in Diego Costa for a hit? Blank in GW 27...

If there's a double in 28 definitely. If not, it's more of a gamble

After finally cracking 10K for the first time this season, I'm left with the below lot, full of question marks. Is Wisdom to Bellerin enough with only 1 FT and 2.2 in the bank?

    Pantilimon/Ospina
    Terry/PVA/Wisdom/Neil Taylor/Yoshida
    Ozil/Hazard/Di Maria/Silva/Ward-Prowse
    Aguero/Kane/Austin

Should be but Yoshida might be out soon

    Let's try again.

    a) Toby (wba CPL BUR)
    b) Wollscheid (HUL EVE CPL)
    c) Tomkins (CPL SUN) + PvA (hul)

    Who's your pick?

I'd go ACB in that order depending on Alder starting.

        Cheers bruh.

Won't be playing Alder this week, and he should be nailed on when fit according to consensus

He should start as a #8 on the right of the diamond. He's been effective there a few times.

From here on end, which 5th midfielder should I pick?
    A) Boyd

If you don't expect to play him often, A

If you want coverage that is a bit more expensive, I like Walters.
