With Chelsea and Tottenham out of contention this week, Fantasy managers are eyeing up the premium price bracket for potential replacements in the centre of the park. Whilst Spurs’ double Gameweek 28 will surely persuade Christian Eriksen owners to hold, the Blues’ pair Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas have been subject to significant transfers out this week after struggling to pick up the points in recent matches.

Fabregas, in particular, has afforded his 33% of Fantasy Premier League (FPL) owners cause for concern after serving up just two assists since the turn of the year. Hazard’s single strike and two assists in six has been boosted by nine bonus points, but with the Belgian’s goal threat very much on the slide, there are a number of options available for those looking to freshen up their five-man midfields.

In our second members article of the week, we cast an eye over four pricey midfielders – David Silva, Mesut Ozil, Raheem Sterling and Angel Di Maria – whose recent form is very much on the rise. The quartet have all delivered returns in three of their last four league appearances and are starting to find consistency as the battle for our Fantasy attention heats up.

I was all set on doing Oscar --> Özil this week, and then ADM --> Eriksen and possibly PVA --> Rose next week for free. Last night raised some doubts about Özil though, but I don't really see any other choices with 9.7 budget. Especially since I don't have any Arsenal mids... Does the move still make sense to you?

    2FT 1.4ITB

    Foster
    Kos Fonte Wollscheid Haidara
    ADM Silva Moses *Oscar*
    Kun Giroud

    PVA Hazard Kane

That's an interesting option, thanks! My thoughts behind my suggested transfers were that Özil could be a good option for longer term too with Arsenal's fixtures and would offer some cover for my lack of Sanchez, and that GW28 could be a good time to get rid of ADM before they face Spurs, Liverpool, City and Chelsea in the next 6.

I guess it comes down to whether I want Özil or ADM for longer term.

I see what you mean but as bad as everyone says ADM is he gets points. Erik to Ozil later if you really want him.

    Afternoon everyone,

I didn't have a chance to watch Arsenal game as kickoff way at 3am almost
Would anyone be willing to give some info about performances of Sanchez (my first choice C for this GW), Bellerin (concerned about his game time) and Cazorla as well as some prediction about their involvement/game time this weekend.
I'm still in the FPL cup and short of players so any good info will be welcomed and appreciated.

    Thank you all 🙂

      Arsenal 4-2-3-1: Ospina 7, Bellerin 4.5, Mertesacker 4.5, Koscielny 5, Gibbs 5, Coquelin 4.5 (Oxlade-Chamberlain 68, 7), Cazorla 5 (Rosicky 82), Sanchez 6, Ozil 4.5, Welbeck 5, Giroud 4 (Walcott 60, 6).

Subs not used: Szczesny, Gabriel, Monreal, Chambers.

      Goal: Oxlade-Chamberlain (90+1)

      Booked: Coquelin, Bellerin, Ozil

I think GW28 is the best time to make use of the original Wildcard. Since, next DGW involves Chelsea & Leicester, prolly nobody wants to go with Foxes and everybody will have 2/3 Chels, this Double Gameweek is the Gameweek that can make the difference.
    Plus,
~City will have good fixtures starting,Silva looks red hot.(LEI,bur,WBA,cpl)
~Spurs(mun,LEI,bur,AVL) & QPR(cpl,EVE,wba) both have good fixtures following DGW.
    ~Matthew Philips at 4.6 looks a good 5th mid
~Lot of non starters to shift who were looking exciting prospect during Jan Wildcard.

    Thoughts?

All the semi finalists of the FA Cup will have a blank GW33 and DGW34 or 37.

          Likely:

          Liverpool & Newcastle

          as well as

          Man City and Man Utd
          OR
          Arsenal & Burnley

West Brom & Leicester (would have to be GW37 obviously)
          OR
          Aston Villa & Spurs

I have learned 1 thing over the years of playing this frustrating game; Cheapie mids and defenders require a lot of thought as the last thing you need is to use a tfr to change them. Phillips is Knee jerk IMO. I went Walters although a little more money, pretty reliable sub and many times in my 1st 11.

GW34 is likely to be the biggest DGW of the season. And GW33 will be a big blank. Makes sense to me that a strong team in GW33 followed by a GW34 WC to prepare for the DGW and rest of the season looks a no-brainer.

Just thinking out of the box abit for this GW and the next. Thoughts on these options?

    A)
GW27: Wisdom, Di Maria > Bertrand, Sigurdsson (one week punt) for free. Keep Terry.
    GW28: Siggy > Eriksen

    B)
GW27: Terry, Wisdom > Bertrand, Haidara for free.
    GW28: Di Maria > Eriksen in GW28
Leave enough in the bank to get him Terry back in GW30.

Thanks MR. Yea, I have. But if I don't use 2 this week, i'd be struggling to field 10 - Have Wisdom, PVA, Ameobi (and Kane Hazard Terry).

I could just use one on Wisdom, but options are Haidara/Williamson, McShane/Bruce. Not exactly exciting. Selling Terry/DiMaria could open up more options.

I just had a look at your team.

          You can field

          Pantilimon
          Clyne Jones ______, ______
          Downing Di Maria Sanchez Boyd
          Aguero

Ship Wisdom + one of PVA/Wasilewski this week. Take the hit and get 2 playin defenders in there to go 4-5-1.

I think PvA is more likely to start if either of them are going too - we only have one match to go on with his recent drop. But from people who seem to know more about Poyet it's quite likely he will be dropped for a good few games now.

Wisdom I think is done though.

    Foster
    Clyne - Pva, Wasi*, Baird*
    Alexis - Silva - ADM - Boyd
    Aguero - Defoe

    Bench: Hamer, Kane, Hazard, Terry

    2FT, 1.9m itb

    Any idea?

Get rid of both Wasi and Baird.

    Forster

    4.0 Eriksen Hazard Kane

    0.4 ITB and 1 FT

I am prepared to play with 10 men but PVA and Sameobi are my concerns

    Morning!

Not sure what to make of Bellerin starting. Think it's a good thing. Means he's back fit and in a game Wenger obviously wanted to win he picked his best RB.

Either way I'm keeping this week barring injury, hope he starts.

    1. Syd.
      • 16 Years

      He will start

It was the midfield where Arsenal lost the game they set up to win the game which led them to losing the game a bit like City in the 1st half against Barca.

I don't think losing will make the decision but wondering if following coming back from injury that he might be rested at the weekend as Wenger can easily put Chambers there instead.

He was rested last week as he was on the bench against Palace.

Arsenal were a defensive shambles against Palace towards the end of the game people seem to have forgotten about this. Chambers is a liability and I can't see Wenger playing him ahead of Bellers.

That's tough. I think you might be okay relying on 2 of Hutton/Bellerin/Dawson to join Terry every week. Also there might be the odd week where Giroud or someone in your front 7 is rested and I'm pretty sure Marney is out for the season so having someone like Boyd there could be profitable when you'll need him. Especially with some teams having blanks in GW33 etc you'll want as many playing players as possible. I'd strongly consider both for a hit.

            Thanks mate, sorry late back.
The hit tempts me to clear the deadwood and in reality is only a -2 persay, it could easily turn profitable or backfire!

    Foster

    Fonte Naughton Haidara PVA

    Mane Boyd Sanchez Walcott

    Aguero Giroud

    questions

    1) Is PVA worth a hit to get rid?
    2) Is anything else worth a hit for a calculated punt?
    3) Captain who? Aguero or one of the Arsenal boys?

Sanchez is explosive for sure. Not sure how to call the Arsenal game after that shower last night. How to Arsenal do bounce backs? They don't really get angry do they?
