Must say, Rose has been a steal so far
Soon as Spurs dgw was announced, he looked a no brainer for his price
Can seem hisbeing rested either. Starts every time he's fir under pochetino
Was hardly even a gamble at 4.8

Hindsight is wonderful, isn't it. An assist away from having a one pointer like the rest of his friends. Spurs are rubbish at the back and that does not appear likely to change for the rest of the season. Far from a no brainer to me, but could be a useful rotational piece.

He would have scored 2 if he was subbed off at the same time in that scenario. 😀

Tipping Rose over Walker in a generic other person's post is simply giving sensible advice.

Okay fair enough. Him starting every time he's fit isn't true though, fell behind Davies at one stage. I agree that he's a good option for the rest of the season, and if that was the main thinking for getting him then well played. But still maintain he was a risk to start both in the double.

Due to lack of fitness caused by being out injured
If it was anything else, he wouldnt have been first chouce every game before and every game after.

Maybe so. I agree he's been first choice pretty much most of the season, but there were a couple games when Poch preferred to play Davies in the league, don't think it was entirely fitness related.

My main point was that you couldn't have been certain he'd play both in the double, and that's why he carried a bit of a risk. But if you were thinking more long term, then he was a good pick that has turned out to be a great pick

That was sort of my feeling too. I did consider Vertonghen/Walker for a bit but couldn't resist Rose for that price.

Wasn't expecting 3 BPs but half the reason I got him in was attacking returns and he delivered straight away. Couple that with a £4.8m price tag, decent fixtures and basically nailed on in single game weeks, seemed like a "risk" worth taking.

it was never a no brainer...he only got points from an assist. spurs are aweful at the back and he was lucky to be in the points.

spurs can't defend. Sure he get's an assist but it's still alot to pay if you are praying for attacking returns every week to get above 2

      1. Sánchez
        • 13 Years

Why? Most 4.5 to 5.0 players have defences worse than spurs and had no dgw

spurs have a worse defence than qpr (managed by Harry Redknapp), let that sink in for a minute

W Brom, Southampton, Swansea are meaner defences.

I guess if you want an attacking player he is good but I wouldn't then be upset if he doesn't keep cs as that's not going to happen often

I brought Walters in on my WC because he was cheap and I thought he was on penos. He hit a hat trick and BINGO! I looked like friggin' Nostradamus . . . .

I am truly happy for you that your reasoned approach worked out for you this GW. Good on you. But, that doesn't mean it was "the only clear choice" that everybody was too stupid to see . . .

Now, I am off to figure out how to get Walters out of my team . . . .

And, probably soon, you may be trying to figure out how to get Rose out of your team . . .

If scores are tied in cup and equal goals scored is goals conceded simply a case of adding up all the goals conceded by whole team eg Siggy concedes 3

I believe it's the goals conceded just by the defense (lost by that 2nd tiebreaker early on in the cup...was crushing)

          • 12 Years
          11 years, 4 months ago

Yeah if you could find other places to free up funds and maybe do one now and roll the other over and get him after the Southampton game, but that fixture is pretty easy the way Southampton have been going recently. Bit of a mixed bag. Not owning Silva has been rough recently, but I am hopeful for Saturday so we'll see how it turns out. You?

            • 12 Years
            11 years, 4 months ago

Aye, that's definitely the sensible move, can free up funds now doing Clichy to Schlupp and avoid the price drop tonight,

You're still having a good GW though with 4 DGWers to play plus your captain, I think you'll definitely get a greenie at least, average is 3 DGWers. You're looking at a minimum of 10 more points come saturday, you'll do good mate

Alright here, just frustrated that both Sturridge and Mane scoring counted for little as both Silva and Giroud scored for the top10k. Finding it tough to make any progress tbh

Yeah I'm confident in a green, especially as my red as it stands right now is very small. Yeah it's tough to get ahead - template and highly owned players are there for a reason! Still Studge and Mane are fun to root for 😉 Keep at it.

My rank is pretty crap and I only jumped about 5k places with a score of 54. Story of my season really, stagnating in the 100-200k region.

I want up with Kane (c) Eriksen and Austin to play. Seem to be stagnating. Since GW7 have been lowest 47K and highest 24K. This gameweek up 7K from 38K to 31K. Want to break the top 20K as a target but can't seem to get any forward momentum !

Can't see it. He's got class in him, it will be just a matter of time for him to click and get up to full speed. He may well have a tough time fitting in this season, but I expect a full preseason with them will do him a world of good.

From what I saw tonight he may impact Aguero in the same way Ozil has impacted Sanchez.

Aguero looked really sharp at the weekend, tonight it seemed Bony was often in his way.

Didn't see the game so I can't comment on that but going back to last season the only striker I have ever seen him play with who I thought he actually worked well with was Negredo. Everyone else always seems to be in his way.

Eriksen. United to get a beating sometime soon. They're the jammiest side this league have seen in a while!

If he was certain to start I'd say so. But who knows if he's going to.

Any pressing transfers for anyone this week?
Lots of home players and those with PVA can probably hold.

Nothing hugely pressing. Phil Jones out maybe or Austin to Costa. Not really decided, leaning towards Costa though if any. But think Austin could be good for another week.
