Sunday moves Gameweek 29 towards its conclusion, serving up three more helpings of top-flight action. League leaders Chelsea entertain Southampton in the lunchtime kick-off, while Everton host Newcastle United and Manchester United welcome Tottenham Hotspur in the tea-time match-ups.

Sunday’s early encounter finds Chelsea attempting to recover from Champions League heartache by maintaining their lead at the summit of the Premier League – surely boosted by City’s demise at Burnley. Southampton will look to keep the title race on ice but will drop in at the Bridge having scored just two goals in their last six league outings: without a goal in his last 12, Graziano Pelle is dropped for the first time this term in one of four changes by Ronald Koeman, as Shane Long replaces the misfiring Italian.

Diego Costa’s 38% ownership will want more from the combative frontman after he came up short in his last two starts, while Eden Hazard enters this encounter with two goals in as many appearances in all competitions.

Everton strive to arrest their descent down the league table when they go head-to-head with Newcastle United at Goodison Park. Having drawn a blank in his last five league starts, Toffees’ record signing Romelu Lukaku needs to rediscover his rhythm against a defence that’s shipped 18 goals in their previous six road ties. The Toon must do without top scorer Papiss Cisse following the Senegal international’s seven-match suspension.

Manchester United can ill-afford to drop points this Gameweek as they duel fellow top-four hopefuls Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford. Wayne Rooney is set to retain his lone striker berth following a goalscoring performance against Arsenal on Monday. Meanwhile, with eight goals in his last six outings, the effervescent Harry Kane will be observed keenly by 48% of all Fantasy Premier League managers, particularly after the failings of the big captain candidates – Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez – in yesterday’s fixtures.

He's just a kid. He's played far more football than expected this season, he always was going to be pulled out of the limelight for a spell at some point.

And he's far from crap. One of the best young attackers in the PL.

Remember a few seasons back when Sterling started for a few months and then didn't play for ages, I think it's more a rest like that.

Riviere's getting a chance to prove he's not a total flop right now, Ayoze will be back at some point.

Probably and because he's still adjusting coming from Spain but he's 21 compared to Sterling who was 17, shows how well Sterling has done in 2- 3 years.

    3. Duke Silver ☑
      • 10 Years
      10 years, 8 months ago

I've been trying to decode Mourinho's thinking with regards to Zouma. I thought he wanted to start him for home games because he could feel relaxed in front of his home fans but that isn't it. I think Mourinho starts either Cahill or Zouma based on which forward(s) they'll be up against. For example, today either Pelle/Long would've started and they're both pretty much 'target men' so Zouma's pace wouldn't be needed.

So I think whenever Chelsea come up against a team that tries to get in behind them, Zouma will play.

Anyone lower than 22pts with Kane and Eriksen left? Bruce my highest scoring player so far...

Looking at that United line up, I reckon Spurs will really have a go. No specialist full backs and centre backs who don't like it up them. Here's to a high scoring game ending in a Spurs victory with a customary late goal from Eriksen.

Or, as has happened frequently, United play terrible football which makes Spurs play terrible football and United nick a last minute deflected winner off Vert's bum.

Wouldn't complain... Well I would but it'd be 3 points on the board!

How would you rate these three teams in order?
    Man U, Spurs, Southampton?

      Spurs

Saints (best team chemistry, no outstanding stars like Eriksen though)

United (3rd purely due to their defence)

Spurs and United to draw in a low scoring game with odd goalscorers...

    Liverpool to destroy Swansea 😎

How I'd love a Sturridge brace.

      Shame that I didn't captain him. 🙁
