Just a watch out for anybody eyeing up Kelvin Davis as a cheap route into the Southampton defence.
Firstly, and stating the bleedin obvious we do not know if or how long Forster will be out for yet.
Secondly, even if Forster is out then do not assume Kelvin Davis at £4.4m will be his replacement.
Last year's number 1 Artur Boruc (and Polish International) does not appear in the game as he was sent out on loan on the Summer to Championship club Bournemouth just down the A31.
Bournemouth are having a fantastic season and are currently top of the Championship in no small part due to Boruc's absolutely outstanding performance's this season, he has been absolutely immense.
However Bournemouth are a smaller club by comparison, their capacity is only about 11,000 and it is fair to assume that Southampton are still paying a considerable part of his wages.
What we don't know as it hasn't been mentioned anywhere I can find is whether Southampton have a recall clause in his loan contract but considering how much they are still paying towards his wages then I would be surprised if they didn't put some kind of protection in there.
Anyway in summary, if Forster is out then don't automatically assume that Kelvin Davis will be his replacement. If Boruc does get added to the game then I would expect £5.0m as a minimum.Forster out for 6 months
