I must admit I haven't looked into it an awful lot.
It sounds like 4k will be well worth it when things are being shot and broadcast more regularly but for now it's probably not worth an upgrade unless you're buying new anyway.
As for normal HD upgrade I've never seen it myself but I would imagine it's not worth it. As a general rule up scaling is never that great but like I say maybe go see it for yourself as I've not checked it out.
If you're buying new and can afford it have a good think about it but otherwise I'd hold off a bit longer myself.Cheers
