As we announced in last night’s ScoutCast, our partners Mondogoal have very kindly launched a contest for this weekend in honour of Doosra’s ongoing recovery from illness.

For those who don’t know, Doosra has been a long standing and active member of the Fantasy Football Scout community for many years. He was recently taken ill and has been hospitilised for several weeks.

We’re delighted to hear recently that he is slowly edging his way back to recovery and we’re all optimistic of seeing his presence back on these pages in the coming months.

A few weeks back, Fantasy Football Scout successfully won Doosra a West Ham signed matchball in a Mondogoal contest. That aroused their interest and, on hearing on Doosra’s story, they very kindly put forward the concept of a special dedicated contest.

The contest takes place over this coming Gameweek. It’s £5 to enter, you can enter more than one team.

All proceeds from this contest will be distributed to Doosra’s family and/or charity of their choosing.

The winner of this contest will receive a special West Ham United Prize Pack that includes:

  • A West Ham United Team-Signed Jersey
  • A West Ham United Team-Signed Football
  • Match Tickets to see West Ham United v. Everton on the final home fixture of the season at Boleyn Ground on the 16th of May.

All fixtures from this matchweek are included, lineups lock at the start of the first match between Arsenal and Liverpool.

We’d love to see you involved and tussle for the right to win the West Ham goodies and perhaps also seek to donate these to Doosra and his family.

We’d like to thank Mondogoal for taking time to create this contest and for their donation.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Thursday and finally, I feel the Fantasy mojo returning. I've been struggling.

Just like hangovers, it's taking me longer to get over international breaks as I get older.

Mmm...I've not tied the knot yet. I hadn't thought of this - I'm not keen on adding another FPL "no go date" to the calendar along with birthday and mothers day 😉

Has to be a summer wedding - that will cost me.

Best way to be Mark - except for the fact my anniversary at the start of July now clashes with the climax of any major summer tournament. Try to go for the back end of July - that's nice and football free.

I missed the 2006 world cup final as I was on honeymoon, just didn't think about it until way too late.

poor form. I watched the last world cup final on my honeymoon at 3am in the jungle in a German bar in Northern Laos - where there's a will...

Watched the semi in Luang Prabang where there was a 10pm curfew, everyone was picked up from a bar and transported to an out of town hotel to watch it at 3am. somehow there were about 50 Dutch there!

That's all good on your special day when love and compromises abound - it's subsequent years that get tricky. Trying to justify wanting to spend a couple of hours watching Uruguay against Ghana rather than being the devoted husband you ought to be is no mean feat 😉

it is. Since it was on at 10pm it was during the reception rather than the actual ceremony! Pretty much everyone wanted to watch it so saved people leaving! 😉

I guess Myhill is not really a punt anymore considering many have him. Fabianski could be a good shout if you don't already have Naughton or don't mind doubling up on Swans DEF

    1ft 1,4itb

    Ospina
    Ivanovic Clyne Naughton
    Hazard Sanchez Eriksen Mane
    Austin Kane Aguero

    Foster PVA Boyd Dawson

    Questions:

    1. I'm chasing in the minileague, to take a risk (c) Austin, right?
    2. I have a transfer in hand to take Foster out, I'm thinking Davies. Do it now or save?

    Thanks!

    1. Sebbo29
      • 11 Years

      1. depends on whether your rivals have Austin. I think most will be captaining him so Kun might actually be more of a risk in order to catch up
      2. Ospina will have a blank as well so sooner or later you will have to take care of that GK, but anyway I'd save and do that later

I've seen them play all over the place. Sometimes Naismith starts on that side, sometime even Barkley does. Wouldn't say he is nailed-on.

          --------Barry---------McCarthy
          --Barkley--Naismith-----Mirallas
          ---------------Lukaku

Still their best front 6 IMO

Any thoughts on this team for the upcoming GWs?

    Myhill, (Davis)

    Ivanovic, Bertrand, Naughton, (Schlupp, Bellerin)

    Silva, Hazard, Mane, Siggy, (Fellaini)

    Kane (c), Austin, Giroud

9.2m in the bank (!) in order to bring in Costa for Austin next week, and Aguero for Giroud the next.

Kane imo but all of Haz, Kane, Aguero and Costa (if fit) are good choices.

a tough choice. Wait for Capt. Sensible article, then depending on whether you want to play safe or take a risk you choose either the runaway leader or a lesser chosen player. Safe: prob Kane. risk: prob Hazard

I've finally sussed my transfers! (I think) for the next 5 weeks! No doubt injuries will put me back at square one!

    GW31 (1ft)
    Zouma > Naughton

    GW32 (-4)
    Fabianski > Myhill
    Sanchez > Siggy
    Austin > Costa

    GW33
    Bertrand > Terry (1ft)

    GW34
    Eriksen > Sterling

    GW 35
    Bellerin > Toby A

    (34/35 may switch)
Will probably all be nonsense after this weekend's games.

Is Ivanovic really worth 0.8m more than Terry?

      Ivanovic:
      - Already matched his best goal involvement over a season (9)
      - 19 points more than Terry over the season so far

      Terry:
      - 4 off his best goal involvement for a season
      - 3 attempts on goal over last 4 games compared Ivanovics 1

Surely they will score similarly over these last 8 gameweeks, with Terry having more threat from set plays?

      Thoughts?

      1. Still Unsure
          10 years, 8 months ago

          Yes. For me anyway.

Both have threat from set plays, but Ivan joins attacks in open play too, so much higher chance of assists/goals.

I'm inclined to agree with you. Terry is looking threatening. If I had neither I'd buy Terry. If I had Terry I wouldn't be swapping. If I had Ivan, I'd keep.

          (fwiw I have Ivan)

some good feedback above - thanks for that. One more question if yo don't mind.

        Play Toby or Kos?

I'm on Toby for now, but Arsenal Liverpool is one of those fixtures that could be decided by a half back goal from a corner....Anyway...Toby or Kos?

Considering the fact that most teams at this stage of the season are very similar (4 or 5 differentials)

How much of a mini league lead do you think is unassailable?

I think Walcott should go in the summer.

Ox is far more versatile on the field, has enough pace and strength, and can play at so many positions. Want him to see nail himself to the Arsenal XI next season, once Walcott is off.

I like AOC but I think Wenger prefers to play him in central mid. His strength is his vital quality.

Not too sure about Jack anymore. Plus I think Coquelin is way better nowadays.

          You believe the Sterling rumour?

I don't think we need Sterling. We already have Ox/Sanchez/Welbeck, and Sterling is un-Arsenal, always wants the spotlight.

If we are getting rid of someone who we always had contract problems with (Walcott), let's not welcome another potential one.

Reus would be my dream move.
