The penultimate match of Gameweek sees in-form Palace welcome defending champions City to Selhurst Park in tonight’s 8pm kick-off. Having won three of their last four league matches, Alan Pardew’s side will fancy their chances of breaching a backline that’s managed a single shout-out in their previous eight road trips.

For the Eagles, Glenn Murray carries the main threat after bagging four goals and an assist in his last four league matches. Alan Pardew’s attacking midfield three are all likely to pose the champions problems, too – Wilfried Zaha is looking to score for the third successive Gameweek, whilst Jason Puncheon and Yannick Bolasie have both provided three assists in the last four.

Sergio Aguero’s domestic form has persuaded over 114,000 FPL managers to part company last week. The Argentine has a single assist in his last four but, having scored for his country in a 2-1 win over Ecuador in the international break, he’ll he optimistic of a return to form. David Silva, meanwhile, will be looking to continue the sort of displays that have harvested four goals and an assist in the last five as Manuel Pellegrini’s side attempt to close the gap at the summit to four points behind Chelsea. City welcome back Yaya Toure in one of five changes from the side that won against West Brom last time out, with Edin Dzeko handed the chance to impress alongside Aguero up top.

After tonight Palace will be safe and season over.

I think you're safer with players from teams who still have something to play for.

Vincent Kompany needs to do a lot of work over the summer.

Not captain material and not playing anywhere near a top class defender this season.

I was feeling sorry for myself and Liverpool and wrote on the last article whether money is ruining football (Sterling's interview and all). I was of the opinion that it is no longer a competitive league as it was determined purely by what clubs could afford to pay the highest wages. I did a little digging looking at many websites (too many links to post) but here's some of the few consistencies I could find, while figures varied a little the order remained the same.

    Premier League Annual Wages

    1 Man Utd £215M
    2 Man City £205M
    3 Chelsea £191M
    4 Arsenal £166M
    5 Liverpool £132m
    6 Tottenham £112m
    7 QPR £78m
    8 Aston Villa £74m
    9 Newcastle United £68m
    10 Everton £66m
    11 West Ham £62m
    12 Sunderland £55m
    13 Swansea City £55m
    14 Stoke City £53m
    15 Southampton £52m
    16 West Brom £48m
    Hull
    Crystal Palace
    Burnley
    Leicester

Stoke have done well this season considering what they've spent in both windows, and the players available to them.

Need to offload a few of the older deadwood players on high wages, and start bringing younger players in now.
