With six teams sitting out Gameweek 33, most Fantasy managers are focused on cobbling together 11 starters ahead of a bumper fixture list in Gameweek 34. Differentials could be a defining characteristic this weekend, then, so we’ve looked to Leicester’s quietly impressive frontman, Everton’s high-flying winger, and Saints’ under-rated assist machine in pursuit of such players.

David Nugent

Following a seven-match spell in which Leicester City only registered four goals, the Foxes’ forward line has finally clicked into gear, with David Nugent (4.9) and Jamie Vardy (4.6) both notching two goals in their last three outings. Yet while Vardy has attracted investment from 34,000 Fantasy managers this week, only 6,000 individuals have taken a punt on his fellow striker.

The argument for acquiring Nugent over Vardy is strengthened by the fact the ex-Pourtsmouth forward was assigned to penalty duties during Leicester’s 2-1 win over West Ham – despite seeing his effort saved by Adrian, he’s expected to remain at the head of the queue.

Beyond a home tie against Swansea City on Saturday, Leicester City face a double Gameweek 34 (bur, CHE) and then round off their campaign with a further trio of home encounters in their final four fixtures (NEW, SOU, sun, QPR). Considering the Blue Army have recorded eight goals in their previous three matches, their budget forwards certainly harbour the potential to give Fantasy teams an edge.

Aaron Lennon

Everton’s form has picked up in the last month – with three wins and a draw in their last four – which in part can be attributed to Aaron Lennon’s attacking output. The former Tottenham Hotspur winger’s two goals across that stretch secured a win over Queens Park Rangers and a draw against Swansea City.

The 6.2-priced midfielder hasn’t been blessed with a wealth of goalscoring opportunities – netting with his only two attempts – but has received more passes in the final third (40) than another other Everton midfielder in their last three matches. Lennon could also benefit from the return of Romelu Lukaku in Saturday’s clash against Burnley, having already accrued three assists despite his limited pitch time (915) this term.

The Toffees’ agreeable run-in provides further reason to invest in the pint-sized speedster. Four home ties (BUR, MUN, SUN, TOT) and winnable trips to Aston Villa and West Ham United cap of the Merseysiders’ campaign, offering hope that Roberto Martinez’s men can end the season with a flourish. If you are considering Lennon, though, it’s worth noting he is unable to face his parent club on the final day of the campaign due to the conditions of his loan deal.

James Ward-Prowse

Victor Wanyama’s two-match suspension – awarded for receiving his 10th yellow card of the season in Saints 2-0 victory over Hull City – could well pave the way for James Ward-Prowse to be handed a couple of starts. In the Kenyan’s absence, Steven Davis is likely to drop back into the double-pivot alongside Morgan Schneiderlin, freeing up the No. 10 berth for Ward-Prowse – a scenario that occurred last weekend after he replaced Wanyama at the break before netting a penalty in the 2-0 win over Hull.

Although Sadio Mane attempted to disobey team orders and take the spot-kick himself, head coach Ronald Koeman was adamant in his post-match presser that Ward-Prowse is next in line when first-choice Dusan Tadic is benched. Bearing in mind that Tadic has started three of the last nine, it’s fair to say the Serbian has fallen out of the first-team picture of late, boosting the youngster’s spot-kick prospects.

Furthermore, despite clocking just 1227 minutes and tallying 14 starts this campaign, Ward-Prowse has bagged an impressive eight assists in the FPL game. Indeed, at just 4.8, he’s proven a relatively consistent Fantasy option under Koeman, earning points in eight of his 20 appearances to date – with Sunderland, Leicester and Villa also in the next five, he could be a real under the radar option if he can cement a starting berth from this point onwards.

Morning all, 2 FT, 3m in bank, WC next week, think I'm going to invest in defence, any better ideas?

    Krul (Panti)
    Terry Rose Alder Dawson (PVA)
    Silva Hazard Eriksen (Mane, Boyd)
    Aguero Kane Remy

Dawson/KKrul out for Kolarov/Howard. Think that could bring more points than a punt on a midfielder, thoughts?

Have Mane on the bench if Remy fails.

      Remy -> Murray.

        Lol, possibly.
Thought about that transfer, but if Remy starts, they could have an equal chance of scoring.
And with New/WBBA looking bad, potentially another 8pts at least with my moves, make sense?

Guys, got 2 FT and £2m in bank but no pressing needs as I can play 11 today:

    Krul
    Terry, Williams, Clyne
    Boyd, Hazard, Eriksen, Silva
    Kane Aguero (c), Murray (v)

    Bench: Ospina, Bellerin, PvA, Cazorla

There's no need or me to make 2 trannys tday but I have to make one or else I lose it. So what do I do with my freebie?

Get a Liverpool player or my bench and hope nothing happens to him?
Get rid of Kane or Nugent or Vardy?
    Any other suggestions welcome.

Reticent to ditch Kane this week as Newcastle are gash and Swansea aren't easy meat for Leicester.

Want to get Liverpool defender for Bellerin, but it's a risk because they could get injured or pick up a suspension, but Kane to Vardy/Nugent or Eriksen to Cesc does seem the two most prudent moves.

Third option is getting Courtois or Schmeichel for Krul.

I really wish we were but I think we may have let it too late now.

Our problem is we concede far too many late goals and these have cost us points (defeats from draws, draws from victories).

Leicester are making a charge too and Burnley seem to be running out of steam, so we have to hope that Sunderland, Hull and WBA pretty much lose out all their remaining games to have a realistic hope of staying up.

Whatever happens though, I hope we keep Ramsey as manager.

Yep, he's a good man. Pity about that silly goal from Rob Green's goal kick.

That typifies the goals you concede: a lapse in concentration and before you know it, the ball's in the back of the net.

                  Good luck anyway.

    Playing my wc in 34.

My thoughts lead me to these 9 players:

    Scmeichel
    Vardy
    Cambiosso
    Skirtel
    Sterlo
    Hendo
    Hazard
    Ivan
    Terry

    - doubts about Remy put me off him
    - Scmeichel for Pants but I have Davies as my main gk

Pretty happy with this bunch. Not going near Hull.

            End product.

Sterling seems to pick up assists and goals. Coutinho doesn't seem to score a lot in fPL. Maybe that's just my perception, but I would say that either Sterling or Henderson are better options than Couts.

Really could do with some help on this one, I have two FT and have a menu of option:
A: Moses to Bolasie (or only going to have 10 outfield players)
    B: Remy to Vardy
C: Naughton to Schlupp (would bench Clyne)
I am thinking just A and save a FT for next week, is that top cautious?

      Just A and save mate

      I'd do B.

I don't see Remy being involved much in the DGW as Costa looks like being back and Remy is too injury prone anyway.

Plus Man Utd isn't a great fixture for a team that has trouble scoring lots of goals.

    In need for advice!

    Currently got:
    Krul (Myhill)
    Adlerweireld Dawson Ivanovic Waslilewski (PVA)
    Siggy Silva Boyd Hazard (Sanchez)
    Kane Kun (Giroud)

    1,4 itb.

Considering Giroud to Vardy/Remy (and benching Was)

    Any advice?

    Thanks in advance!

He's on fire and Leic will score goals for sure. Not sure exactly where he'll play he interlinks with Nugent alot. Flip a coin between the two

Thinking vardy for the double game week could work out and Bolasie is in the whole and his stats look very good so might not be as bad as all that 🙂

Yup. Both a threat from set pieces though, if you own both Chelsea set pieces are exciting. If you own one it's kinda scary in case the other scores

My team for this week is
    Myhill
    Terry Bertrand Baines
    Hazard silva Eriksen mane
    Aguero kane remy

    Pants Walters Jones bellerin

Have one ft and thinking of getting rid of Eriksen, mane or Walters for a dgwer. Should I do it this week or just wait until next?

    b. Phillips âž¡ Bolasie (-4)
    c. Do nothing, expect Remy to play
