Ever since the 2011/2012, when a huge DGW happened in GW36 of the season, I told myself that I would always save my WC (such as this late in the season) no matter the problems in the beginning of the season.
WC is working like a charm so far (I think those with the WC would agree too!).
Saving wildcards for double gameweeks is and always has been overrated. can easily plan for it with hits, and therefore sort your team out earlier in the season if needs be before you're too behind.

Well take this week for example. We knew about the Liverpool DGW 2 weeks in advance. It's hard to plan for it with such little time I guess.
I'm not sure it is. You'd have 1 of 2 of their players in your squad anyway, then can get 5/6 with a few hits in the 2 weeks. They are usually always known in good time from my experience
To be honest, I had 0 Liverpool players when the DGW was announced and I'm sure many were in the same boat.
I got 3 LIV, 3 CHE and 2 LEI with 1 hit. It's all about the planning 😉

Always seem to get big hauls in the wildcard. But I was absolutely plagued with injuries. I don't regret using mine week 15 or so. I needed to. Otherwise I'd have saved it though.
I'm a big fan of an early WC. It's a lot easier to plan for DGWs with FTs in advance than it is to restructure your team early on when we find out which teams/players are good picks. I think if you can successfully plan for DGWs then a late WC isn't a massive advantage.
I always save mine, and think it's a far better tactic. Worked again for me this year.

Can't boast about my OR like some (most on the last couple of pages were pretty impressive) N'Doye didn't rise more than a few hundred places, but I have to celebrate this: I had no WC, N'Doye made 5 transfers, N'Doye took a -12, yet no single move failed to get better points than sticking, N'Doye have 12 players to go (including (c)), and from here on in the -12 is already accounted for. It's all gravy from here, N'Doye like it!

This is usually the point of the DGW where everyone's wondering why they bought players like McShane and N'Doye. Everything just seemed to fall into place today for Hull and Leicester.
