Our attentions turn to the weekend’s matches as we delve into the data this evening. We cast an eye over Villa’s in-form duo, assess a couple of Sunderland prospects and analyse the goal threat of Hull’s weekend hero and Liverpool’s little Brazilian as the two go head-to-head at the KC tomorrow.

    Best escape route out of the dark tunnel that is the Foster/Myhill combo? Owning PvA puts me off Panti but then the lad never gets into my team so might be worth it for the dgw. Ospina also tempting but I own Koscielny so that's a no go....

    Sorry if this is a little convoluted, will try to put it as clearly as possible. I also realize that plans can easily go awry with injuries but bored today. Looking at plans up to GW37

    A.
    Fab to Ozil
    Sterling to Ramsey
    (arrive at GW 37 with a FT)

    B.
    Ming to Ospina
    Sterling to Ozil
    (arrive at GW 37 with a FT)

    C.
    Ivan to Koscielny
    Sterling to Ozil
    Kane to Benteke
    (done for no points hits)

    Current team-
    Ming/Myhill
    Ivan/Alderw/Hadria(RIP)/Huth/PVA
    Hazard/Fabregas/ Silva/ Sterling/Boyd
    Aguero/Kane/Giroud
    1FT 0.6ITB

    I was all set on A as its nice and simple plus gets rid of Sterling and Fab who are 2 players I didn’t want to carry. Would appreciate any thoughts.

      hi SAB

      i would advice against committing to an arsenal gk/def this gw incase 3 attackers start looking better, all about flexibility imo. I would be temped to save then get Sanchez for Fabs next gw with a double move

      I like C at this present moment.

      But still too early to decide just yet. Alot depends on how Chelsea will line up like once the title is secure - Ivanovic could be unshackled and you'd want to keep him then. Fabregas would be gold if Chelsea go on the attack.

    Kasper
    Ivan, Terry, Skrtel
    Sanchez, Hazard, Sterling, Hendo
    Kun, Kane, Vardy

    Pants, Boyd, Wolly, Dawson

    1ft, 2.8m

    Save or Kane -> Giroud?

            Kane is a very tricky one. Seems to love playing against big teams. Quite torn really, i definitely want Giroud in. Saving gives me one more week to decide who i want to keep from Vardy/Kane

            Jonty's Ramsey preference aside, I think Ozil is definitely preferable. Both on stats and from watching games. Much more instrumental for Arsenal.

                    You could do. But could Arsenal's fixtures be any better? I'd want to keep a FT in my pocket personally. I'd like to have 2 FTs for GW37/38 if possible.

    Struggling to find some competitive edge... Rival is 24 points ahead..

    I have 2FT .. 3.3 ITB

    Ospina (Schmeichel)

    Ivanovic Alderweireld Trippier (Schlupp Moreno)
    Fabregas Hazard Henderson Zaha Silva
    Vardy GIroud Kane

    Ignoring the injured defenders.. who I hope will miraculously recover from their mysterious knock knocks..

    I really am considering

    Silva -> Grealish
    Vardy -> Aguero

    I know Vardy delivered.. but the whole footgate thing has shaken my reserve and with so many other attacking options in the Leicester squad, I don't know if I want to rely on him. I could go Kane to Aguero.. but maybe it would be better to have attacking who are vying for golden boot. Maybe the next move should be Giroud to Costa..

    Pros: I can match my rival's Aguero. Grealish might work as differential
    Cons: Potential waste of transfers. Doesn't sort out injury problems. Delays the inclusion of a Arsenal mid that I had planned to do this week. Aguero takes up a lot of funds when you buy him back......

    It's 6am and I haven't sleep.. is this sensical on any level?

      I think you need to get Aguero in quick smart and Silva has seriously dipped. Wait for the midweek games to confirm your thoughts on Vardy then I say go for it.

        Thanks Ryan. I will hold off, I think that is sage and there is no rush. I'd rather protect myself from further injury shocks. I think it might be worth it though. Aguero blanking will be a lot less harmful than him scoring for me if I have him. I just hope I'm not being too conservative/chasing with fear as opposed to courage.

          No Aguero could see you lose your mini league in 1 or 2GW's. I think it would be exceptionally bold to not have him because its basically Vardy vs Aguero as Silva just isn't cutting it right now.

      Vardy will be OK at the weekend.

      Silva out Aguero in is very sideways. Just do Silva or Fabregas to Sanchez and save the other FT.

      Having 2FTs available in GW37/38 will help you and you need to have faith in the team structure you decided on.

        The sideways thing does bother me.. It is also kind of sideways and backwards which strikes me as even worse.. I had Aguero. I've just had bad luck and I am doubting myself, I guess.

        I'm also not sure I fancy Sanchez after this weekend.. He did look hungry but also looked, I dunno, sulky? I can't describe it. At one point I thought I saw him complain after a ball in didn't go his way but it wasn't even a bad ball.. I only assume it was his team mate Ozil (who delivered) that he was complaining to, but maybe it was because of the defenders and towards ref. Maybe he was just very frustrated in general. My gut kinda says Ozil or Ramsey over him. They seem to have superior form.

        I am over tired/over thinking.

    This is boring. Everyone will own the same players for DGW 37. We need to fill the SGW players with some nice differentials.

      The big one for GW37/38 could well be Charlie Austin.

      QPR may be relegated by then and often teams cut loose when that has happened.

      I'm thinking Austin, Defoe or Wickham to replace N'Doye in 37 myself.

    This is my 2 cents on Arsenal dgwers.

    You want Giroud for the dgw. If you don't, somethings wrong with you. Really should be your captain.

    Sanchez is not as important because i see Giroud as the standout captain but due to his explosiveness, it is a risk to go without.

    3rd Arsenal attacker vs defender is a very 50/50 call atm. My advice is to not commit to either just yet. I will be probably be waiting till gw 37 to make that decision as we will have a better idea of form and possible rests etc.

    If you already have a defender/gk or Ramsey/Ozil then obviously keep. Bellerin is a bit in no man's land. Don't think he will play both dgw fixtures so i'd be looking at a plan to get rid of him and open up that extra Arsenal slot.

    Hope that makes some kind of sense, lol

        not overly. Welbeck could replace anyone in the midfield or attack really. Then guys like Caz and Ramsey will just swap positions accordingly. Bit of a lottery.

      My top3 Arsenal player for dgw.

      1. Giroud
      2. Özil
      3. Sanchez

      For me its Arsenal def vs Sanchez.

      They won't keep cs against Manu but likely to keep against Sunderland. So for someone like Koscielny 8 p is very likely. Sanchez is very capable to bring 10- 20 point haul or more.

      Giroud: Not sure about the captaincy part, will depend on form and whether there is a chance of a rest

      Sanchez: I'd say is at least equally important mainly because of he is more nailed on. Sanchez is extremely explosive and that makes him a good captaincy pick for some serious fireworks in the DGW.

      3rd Arsenal: I agree that its 50/50 and the point you made

      As a Bellerin owner I'm just going to see how he goes and hope he keeps Debuchy at bay. This stance will be a week by week affair and I may decide to ship him out closer to GW37.

        • 11 Years

        Bellerin is an awkward one, I'm glad I don't have that problem.

        I think he has supplanted Debuchy as 1st choice myself. Plus Debuchy isn't match fit. But they could easily get 1 game each in DGW.

          Arsenal have had a very good defensive record since Bellerin has come into the team. That has to count for something, why change it? Not to say he's great defensively but why mess around with a defence thats clearly working well together. Thats what I hope happens anyway and its a reasonable position to take.

            Agreed. But Wenger brought Debuchy in to play and is somewhat loyal. I can't see him keeping Debuchy on the bench till the end of season after playing 120 mins in the FACup semi-final.

    Want to ditch Remy -->> Giroud but need to free up 1.1m

    Should I

    A) Take a -4 hit this week.....and downgrade who?
    or
    B) Save FT this week and use 2 FT next week......and downgrade who?

    Why are most people so keen on Sanchez? He hasn't been in good form since the turn the of the year, I don't think its worth the cash for a midfielder with just 2 goals in 2015.

      I agree mostly. I think people are just attracted to him due to his explosiveness and history.

      I believe he scored a couple to get them to the FA Cup final.

        His second goal can't be put down to him playing well...

          I've only seen one of his goals. Sounds like from your reply, it was the first one.

            Ah right, the second one was a shot at the keeper, and he fumbled it into the net.

    Anyone considering benteke captain this week? Are Everton shaking good defensive form away aswell as home?

    Which plan seems better here lads?

    A)

    35: Remy -> Giroud
    36: Sterling -> Ramsey/Ozil
    37: Possibly look for a two week punt, or an extra Sunderland DGWer?

    B)

    35: Remy -> Benteke
    36: Sterling -> Ozil/Ramsey
    37: Kane -> Giroud, Clyne -> 4.6 defender to raise funds (-4)

    C)

    35: Remy -> Benteke
    36: Sterling -> Ozil/Ramsey
    37: Ignore Giroud, Silva -> Ozil/Ramsey and Clyne -> 5.6 defender (-4)

    Mignolet
    Ivan, Bertrand, Bellerin
    Hazard, Silva, Sterling, Hendo
    Kun, Kane, Remy

    Krul | Boyd, Clyne, PvA 2.0 ITB

    Cheers

      I like B) , really think Benteke is the one to get for the last matches, and I think you need Giroud for peace of mind. Struggling with finding place for Benteke in my own team though, with FT's needed for Arsenal players.

        Cheers mate. Also allows me to take a punt on a cheap defender

          I'd go for PvA then - possibility for attacking returns.

                  Yes, but with the title race over Welbeck is sure to get at least a start or two, and could start against United, and even in GW38 if Wenger decides to rest Giroud before the cup final

      A to be safe though I reckon he won't get 180 minutes over the DGW (Giroud) as Welbs should start vs United.

      C to have a little bit of fun.

        Cheers Shifty. I'm actually leaning towards B at the moment, Benteke could be a nice differential.

        Cheers.

          well B and C are basically the same until GW37...so why not? Then decide on Giroud come GW37 itself...gives you some flex.

      B for me, the front line of Kun, Benteke and Giroud is a nice one
