Ramsey or Giroud for next week?

Giroud was relatively anonymous. Whatever impact he had, it wasn't very obvious. I don't know. Maybe some of his movement opened up space for other players here and there, but that's about it.

So Ramsey is pretty much essential now it seems? Would you go without Giroud and take an Arsenal defender for the Dgw?

After Sanchez saved my week as my captain, I'm left with the following dilemma:

    A) Giroud and Sterling to Benteke and Ozil (-4)
    B) Austin and Sterling to Benteke and Mirallas (-4)
    C) Giroud to Benteke

    Any thoughts?

right because taking a -4 on a dgw player is so wise. I'm doing

Larsson/Gomez in preparation for DGW? Mane (if not injured) is still a good pick imo.

      Ramsey.

Someone mentioned that Rambo is a better player to own when ARS are playing away, but Ozil is the guy to have in home games since ARS will play the passing game more. So with 3 home games out of 4, Ozil looks a good candidate.

But personally I still think Rambo is a better FPL to own, regardless.

Morning everyone. A little undecided on what transfers to be doing in preparation for the DGW.
Chasing my ML by exactly 20 points.

    Rival - Sanchez, Ramsey, Giroud
Me - Ramsey and Sanchez in this week.

My question, how important is getting Giroud for the DGW? My options:

    A) Sanchez, Ozil, Ramsey (-4)
    B) Sanchez, Ramsey, Kosc (No hit)
    C) Sanchez, Ramsey, Giroud (-4)

Kane, Sterling, Coutinho, Skrtel & Terry - > Benteke, Sanchez, Ramsey, Stones and Wasilewski.

For a - 16. Mini league is wrapped up and just outside the top 1k. Might sound like madness but i dont see the Liverpool lads getting another above 2pts this week, ramsey, sanchez and benteke could easily score huge points again, and stones and was are possible clean sheets.

Feels like an end of season gamble which could actually pay off. I would be taking points hits next week anyway, so why not take the rank drop this week then make it back during the double?

    Genius or madness...

    1. HammersXI
      • 13 Years
      10 years, 8 months ago

It actually looks good. But would you put off the Coutinho -> Ramsey move for a week? All these moves seem to be chasing points from the past few weeks, but there's a chance they will still earn you a lot more in the coming weeks.

With your OR it would be better if you took a -8/12 hit instead of such a drastic hit. And I do see Chelsea keeping it tight and Terry playing.

      1. Flycroft
        • 15 Years
        10 years, 8 months ago

It looks like chasing now, but I was looking at these moves before last night's game. I woke up this morning and checked the scores and was so irritated to see sanchez and ramsey mopping up. The price rises that they will get is forcing my hand.

I see Terry playing but i think Chelsea will open up a bit now as mourinho let's them off the leash, which is why I want to keep hazard.

I guess the way I see it is there is a lot of potential to recoup the points this week with benteke and arsenal having great fixtures, and it gets me ahead of the curve again. Playing cautiously hasn't worked so well for me the last couple of months. Its my desire to get a 3 digit finish against my desire to just have a bit of end of season fun (with the potential for gains!)

        1. HammersXI
          • 13 Years
          10 years, 8 months ago

Ya the moves actually looks nice tbh. I don't think Chelsea will open up tbh. They haven't been playing the best and without Costa back in the team, I don't see them free scoring from now till the end of the season

Yeah Benteke and Arsenal seems like a perfect move in my opinion. I understand what you mean, and if you think it would pay off go for it!

Big risk big reward eh 🙂

or a huge drop in the ranking (But let's not go there :P)

Hey DZers, would love some advice or comments on my moves

    Ospina (Schmechiel)
    Schlupp Terry Alder (PVA Skrtel)
    Alexis Hazard Cou Sterling (Phillips)
    Vardy Aguero Giroud

Is it madness if I made these changes for a single hit? (Already have 3 Arsenal for the DGW) OR should I just do the vardy move and downgrade sterling to a Sunderland MF?

    Sterling -> Grealish
    Coutinho -> Silva
    Vardy -> Benteke

    Thanks!

Larsson is very punty I suppose, but there's no-one there setting the world on fire.

I would be maxing out my frontline with Giroud Benteke and Kun. No plans to get Wickham. He did briliiantly for me last year and I'll never forget that but for this year nah.. There are better options. Do you think Silva is worth a hit against QPR? He looked lively against Tottenham

Silva is as good a midfielder as you can get, especially for that price. He seems to suit the lone forward set-up playing in the hole behind Aguero, since they've moved back to that they've been winning again.

Yeap but if I get Silva I would have to sacrifice a Sunderland DGW player and get Grealish instead. Plus it would require a -4.

If you were me would you do that or just play safe and use my 2 FT and get a Sunderland MF and Benteke instead?

He also looked good against Spurs, they have relegated QPR next, he's not one I wouldn't want this week.

I'm thinking of going for 4 in the DGW. Not a big fan of Sunderland and the sight of Grealish is more tempting than any Sunderland players.

Would have to get rid of 2 players for the Vardy move to work. Don't worry about LMS, I'll be out soon enough 🙂

FAir point. 5 for me most probably - Panti & PVA already in.

Yeah 4-5 will be the number everyone here would be going for. I'm not chasing anything so I don't mind actually sticking with that number. A mistake I did during the WC was that I should have gotten Panti instead of Ospina and an Arsenal defender instead. Oh well

Yeah I agree! I expected myself to get knocked out in the LMS a long time ago! Good luck to you man! Hopefully you win it! (If I get knocked out soon enough)

Ah, I didn't realise. Its a close one, but Coutinho is in form, and Silva has dropped off massively the last few weeks.

I'd probably hold Coutinho in that case. Has decent fixtures and much better goal threat than Silva.

Alright thanks man! Just that the Silva option vs QPR sounds tasty even with Kun. Yeah I couldn't make 3 transfers without taking a hit eh 🙂 Would you go for Grealish or a Sunderland MF though. I have Phillips as my other bench option.

I'd go for Grealish. Sunderland midfielders are woeful to a man. Grealish and Villa are on fire, expect him to keep assisting Benteke.

Silva us a tough one and it's easy for me to say as I have him. But i wouldnt be surprised if Coutinho outscored him from now till the end of the season. Don't think he's worth a hit.

Okay thanks for the advice man! Good luck to you with your moves! Hope it pays off! Yeah I like the sight of Grealish in a Villa team that is hungry to do well. Plus I could rotate Grealish and Phillips as and when needed.

Biggest decision I have to make is for my last Arsenal slot.

Already have Alexis and pretty set on Ramsey.

    Boils down to:

    A) Ozil
    B) Koscielny

      No Giroud?

Three mids might be overkill ... on the off chance they fail you'll have a terrible looking midfield.

I'd go Koscielny from those two

The problem with 3 mids is if the United game is tight you are expecting them to all click at the same time against Swansea, Liverpool's mids showed in their double that it's not easy.

The perfect balance imo is defender, mid and striker but the points potential of the midfield is high so is hard to ignore, Giroud did nothing yesterdsy but with 3 home games out of 4 he will be a different animal, he's a flat track bully at best up against mid table teams, essential IMO.

                So that makes it (at best) 9 + 2 + 2 + 9 = 22 over the next four..

    Had a great week, 80 (-4) went up into 13k from 23k

Been struggling for weeks, my rival has been sensational and himself gone from 130k to 11k since GW26 so been up against a force of nature, watched a lead turn into a chase and after Sat it was a big chase due to Benteke, Leicester double defence and Coutinho, luckily Myhill, Dawson, Silva and Sanchez came to the rescue.

    Bring on next week.

Based on their scores for the season, and the last few week's form what you expect the following players to cost next year:

    1) Giroud (8.0)
    2) Benteke (8.5)
    3) Rooney (9.0)
    4) Aguero (12.0)

I think that seems about right.

I don't see how Giroud could go from 8.5 to 8, considering his form this year. I'd say he'll be 9.0. Same for Benteke.

Rooney maybe 9.5 considering he's done decently well when playing up top.

He's been there for more than 50% of their games this year. I don't think they would but he'd be a steal if they then get a decent CAM and move him forward again.
