This evening we roll out the quarter final draw for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XI, as sponsored by Paddy Power, as well as the semi-final draw for the Fantasy Football Members Cup V.

Mark continues to fight another day, after seeing off Eedee in round seven in the FFS Paddy Power Cup XI. He is the highest placed manager in the competition with a Fantasy Premier League rank of 155 and squares up to johni00 in the quarter finals.

Another of the FFScout team has made it through. Our moderator and Scoutcast guest Ryan beat the competition’s previously highest ranked manager, fuml_akimbo, and now faces HammersXI.

In the other quarter final ties, HuttonDressedAsLahm takes on Mowgli and faux_C is matched with Jon Nurse, who has won £25 worth of free bets with Paddy Power after his round seven tally of 68 proved to be round seven’s highest score.

In the Fantasy Football Members Cup V, the first semi-final will see the competition’s highest placed manager Tdubb05, who is ranked 1345th, take on waltzingmatildas. Meanwhile, Alwilb’s semi final opponent is faux_C, the only competitor to be in with a chance of winning both our cups.

The full quarter final draw for the FFS Paddy Power Cup XI can be found here, while the semi-final draw for the Members Scout Cup V can be found here.

Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

Missed that. Your defence looks ok so I'd probably sell sterling instead, away to Chelsea and crap anyway. Replacement depends on budget

thinking of aguero to benteke (captain) so that i can free up funds to vardy to giroud

    is that dumb?

It was one of the options I considered but aguero is the most explosive player in epl, has 5 in 4 games and is home to qpr next so I did not think about it for very long

Not wishing to compare the players as Benteke is class but Glen Murray was also on fire at one point, people brought him in after the destruction of Sunderland and he let them down, Villa also have a Cup Final to think off, if they are safe by GW33 who's to say they won't rest their potential match winner in 38 to save the risk of injury?

haha tbf benteke has been on form ever since like 7-8 gw ago..and it comes at the time where villa is more attacking..i would say that his form will continue.

u are right about the potential rest though..though giroud oso might be rested by this logic

Giroud could get rested, Girouds situation is down to City IMO, if City win their last 3 games Giroud won't be rested as Arsenal will need to beat West Brom to finish 2nd.

If Arsenal lose to United and City win all their games it will come down to goal difference.

      aguero+vardy vs benteke+giroud

tough call, with the "answer" perhaps somewhat dependent on what you'll do with the 3rd Arsenal slot if you don't get Giroud. candidly, they're both good options by my thinking, and either way you go, you'll be both optimistic about the big returns coming and concerned that you've made a mistake.

fyi, i've got 3 of the 4, and if i were to get rid of one, it would be to get the 4th....

silly to take out aguero this week. do it next week. i would not call it dumb when u left 3 gw left..rather than taking crazy punts selling aguero for a DGW striker is much more sense

I think it's a silly move, City are trying to finish 2nd, they need to win every game and hope Arsenal slip up, Southampton have had a good season so can relax in that last game as their position is safe and think about their holidays while Aguero is leading the race for the Golden Boot.

yeah i would say either gw37 or 38 is fine..though if need to fund vardy->giroud i would do it gw37. unless u can find a better way to fund it.

aguero on fine form though and would probably get a goal each out of gw37 or gw38..so yeah take him out at your own risk.

26 points lead chase able right ?

The leader always captains hazard 😀
He doesn't have any arsenal asset till now .Time to load up on Sanchez ?

      • 11 Years

26 points can definitely be done. Tricky but absolutely doable. It's really one big captain score away from Turned around.

If you can get Sanchez without destroying your team then he could be the difference.

    2. da Beeeez
      • 16 Years
      11 years, 3 days ago

26 is very doable. 10-20 points in a given week can easily happen if there are enough differences in your teams. my current lead is bigger than that, and i'm still worried, although that's due partly to my general nature and partly to numerous differences that we have across our squads.

it'll be scary days if you don't have hazard as captain, but probably as good an opportunity as you can ask for down the stretch if you're trying to catch up. Sanchez definitely a good call, and definitely load up with 2 more for the double. good luck.

I'm also benching Henderson this week for Cambiasso.

Regardless how bad Liverpool have been lately, their players will be worth having in 37 for Gerrard's last game at Anfield, expecting them to turn up on that day.

They might even turn up against Chelsea on Sunday if United lose or drop points to Palace as they will be right back in the race for 4th.

sorry to say that imo A is better.

ramsey is better than mata i think..hull on decent form against toothless burnley..while everton just conceded 4 goals. do not like Arnautovic as a pick though.

and probably some reasons on why u pick(although its quite obvious to the knowledgeable people here) would give u the edge.

Defenders from team A are poorer over the course of a few games..but within this particular week they stand equal chance of getting a CS

    Alright lads?

So, last night I put a load of money on all four teams in the Champions League to all score in the 1st leg.

What do you think about the Barcelona v Bayern game? Do you think they'll both score or should I hedge my bets and back them to not both score and guarantee a profit of £100?

I need both teams to score to win my bet that I've placed.

So effectively you have £100 and can rebet that at 3.68 on both teams scoring. I think that's a good bet you should go for the big win

I can't rebet it at that price anyway. It was 3.75 for all four teams to score. Think it was like 1.80 for both Barcelona and Bayern to score.

So there you go you have great odds effectively from here if you stay invested, almost double what you could get now. Obviously you could still lose but that does not make it a bad bet.

I'd love to hear the DZ's opinion on my master plan!

This week I'm thinking about doing Sterling + Cambiasso >> Ramsey + Grealish for free - which leaves 0.5 in the bank and gives me this team:

    Schmeichel
    Terry, McShane, Morgan
    Mata, Hazard, Grealish, Ramsey
    Giroud, Aguero, Benteke

    Pantilimon - Henderson, Skrtel, Baird

Then, for the week after I'm thinking about doing Hazard >> Sanchez. It means I get to keep Hazard for the Liverpool match and it gives me another week to assess the Arsenal mids and maybe even do Mata >> Ozil/Cazorla.

The question is though, when do I do my Ramsey + Grealish in transfers? Pull the plus now incase they rise or my players fall?

Well, I was tempted to do it last night before the price rises. But I decided to wait. Luckily none of my lot went up or down.

I'm on record for having great wonder about all this Grealish talk. Sure, the kid shows glimpses of promise, but there are 0 returns. I don't think he's going to reward any FPL managers very much, but I can't predict the future. Just my feelings on him as a prospect. Ramsey, that's a different story.

Only has 4 starts this season, and he has WHM at home, arguably one of the easiest teams to play against right now. He is 4.3 as well, why not give him a chance?

Yeah I know, he's basically crap. But imo Chelsea will win to nil. So Henderson is already getting a max of 2 points. So Grealish has more of a chance of getting something already.

      explain Grealish appeal

I've cooled off the Hazard sale..Chelsea may continue to play in a reserved manner but he's the main conduit for anything offensive

I would wait on Ramsey..I have him and even I'm waiting to take my hit in case I need to handle him (unless it's minor and I start Albrighton anyhow)

my gut says to start Henderson..with next week being Gerrard's last match at Anfield I highly doubt he plays vs Chelsea, a matchup he probably can't even hang in anyways, and Hendo has a good outing and gets a haul

also Carrick is likely back so I like Mata for some returns

      1. The Sarjeant
        • 12 Years

I'm only getting Grealish so I can afford a price rise/fall. I don't expect him to do anything but start.

The only way I can get Sanchez is if I transfer out Hazard or do a -8/-12 and tear my team apart.

    GW 36 & 37 will cost my -8pts hit regardless of which way I do it. My dilemma is ;

    A) Cazorla Giroud & Koscielny
    or
    B) Cazorla Alexis & Bellerin

With 'A' - I get rid of (deadwood) Murray

With 'B' - I lose Mane but keep have to keep Murray

Not a lot in it for me - especially with set-pieces and opportunities and bonus points and assists. Santi edges it with me. & while Ramsey may turn out to be fit, I have a suspicion that he may get less game time.

      Hey Romani.

I'll go with A. But would prefer Ramsey instead of Cazorla definitely. Just can't ignore his goal threat.

Btw ankle's doing better. range of movement has improved, walking in a straight line is much better but still sore moving too far right or left.

looks like I'm doing Skrtel + Sterling > Vlaar + Sanchez (-4) to give me:

    .....................Schmeichel
    .............Vlaar - Terry - Smalling
    Ramsey - Sanchez - Hazard - Henderson
    ...........Giroud - Aguero(c) - Benteke(c)

    Panti; Albrighton, Morgan, PvA

gut tells me Hendo gets something from the match with Gerrard out and since it gives me 1.0m leftover I think I should hold off until we hear more on Ramsey..still trying to decide between Aguero and Tekkers for the armband

sorry bout that, I don't know that he's out..my gut just says he is..last match at Anfield would be next week so this is a perfect game for him to sit out as

        A) he doesn't risk injury before the last home game of his Liverpool career

He's been playing on-again-off-again since December, really, even before and after his red card..don't see that changing now..I mean he was benched for a home United match with a lot more on the line than will be vs Chelsea.

Aguero, easy choice for me. Only other option I'd consider is Benteke, and it's still in the back of my head.

    Schmeichel/Ospina
    Skrtel/Terry/Ivanovic/Duff/PVA
    Sanchez/Hazard/Coutinho/Sterling/Grealish
    Aguero/Vardy/Kane

Can't afford Ramsey. Is Cazorla a viable alternative or should I go the extra mile to get Ramsey in?

Cazorla could be very good and differential. He's on penos too.

True. It could be a blessing in disguise really. It's just that Ramsey looks so dangerous.

If it involved too much trouble, I'd take Cazorla instead

Cazorla is fine. Just as good a pick.

Draft league game...would you rather have Welbeck or RvP for gwk 37 and 38? Looking at a possible trade.

Van Persie seeking redemption for a missed peno and his former national manager wanting to get rid

Really looking forward to Carver's presser this week.
    - yeah, I went a little nutty during the post-match talk
    - and yeah, they tried to hire McClaren to replace me
    - and yeah, Colo wrote an open letter to the fan that said "players and staff" are all in this together and ignored my existence
    - so, really, the key to staying up is if we all stop acting like a gaggle of tw@ts and win one of three bloody winnable matches; but the truth is I don't think the players are really capable of desiring to put in a professional effort because they just a useless lot

As usual there appears to be a mob drumming up support for one of the "Scout Selection" teams.

I suggest a vote for this one:

It's probably the best. And it doesn't have a team behind it.

That is still your opinion, Ruth. 😉

I think that "mob" is an unhappy word ...

Emus, Crows, Kangaroos might disagree. 😀

However mobs of Crows are quite rare. "A Crow in a crowd is a rook"

              Morning Doos ol' chap.
It seems they have a lot collective nouns for Crows. I don't know if it is to do with the area you come from or the country.
