This evening we roll out the quarter final draw for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup XI, as sponsored by Paddy Power, as well as the semi-final draw for the Fantasy Football Members Cup V.

Mark continues to fight another day, after seeing off Eedee in round seven in the FFS Paddy Power Cup XI. He is the highest placed manager in the competition with a Fantasy Premier League rank of 155 and squares up to johni00 in the quarter finals.

Another of the FFScout team has made it through. Our moderator and Scoutcast guest Ryan beat the competition’s previously highest ranked manager, fuml_akimbo, and now faces HammersXI.

In the other quarter final ties, HuttonDressedAsLahm takes on Mowgli and faux_C is matched with Jon Nurse, who has won £25 worth of free bets with Paddy Power after his round seven tally of 68 proved to be round seven’s highest score.

In the Fantasy Football Members Cup V, the first semi-final will see the competition’s highest placed manager Tdubb05, who is ranked 1345th, take on waltzingmatildas. Meanwhile, Alwilb’s semi final opponent is faux_C, the only competitor to be in with a chance of winning both our cups.

The full quarter final draw for the FFS Paddy Power Cup XI can be found here, while the semi-final draw for the Members Scout Cup V can be found here.

Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

A: play PVA (eve). Already have panty in goal
B: Play Skrtel (che), already have cesc, haz, terry, hendo in that game
    C: -4 for Kosc

      A for coverage

Although I'd probably end up playing B myself, but eggs, and baskets, comes to mind.

    is 3 Arsenal Mids overkill?

Im thinking of going into DGW with the following:

    Pants
    PVA-Clyne-Moreno
    Alexis-Silva-Rambo-Ozil
    Kane-Kun-Tekkers

    Or I could go

    Pants
    PVA-Kosc-Clyne
    Alexis-Silva-Rambo-Hazard
    Kane-Kun-Tekkers

        - Sanchez (C)
        - Ramsey has been incredibly efficient - he's capable of keeping that up, but they're not the most outstanding stats.
        - Cazorla quietly impressive all round, a decent differential.
        - Ozil the star man when it comes to assists, but the least likely to explode with a big score.
        - Given the depth of attacking options, Giroud is by no means essential.

Only 26 points lead in the money league left and my rival has Benteke and Bellerin but no Arsenal attackers( I have Sanchez and Giroud)

Should I try to block him and get Benteke or even Bellerin or stick to my plan and get Rambo instead of Hendo???

These are my options (have 2 FT) :

    A) Kane & Skrtel -> Benteke & McShane
    B) Henderson & Skrtel -> Rambo & McShane
    C) Giroud,Hendo & Skrtel -> Benteke,Rambo and Bellerin for -4

Wouldn't say you were too late.
Looks like he is on a run similar to the 2012/2013 season - 4 goals in the final four games.

Thanks - looking back, what has cost me this season is tardiness in jumping on the in form players. Being a dullard, I need to see ten double figure haul GW's before thinking "hm, maybe the player is getting into form, not just a flash in the pan" 😉 .. Guess I should really start actually watching the games.

      Two world class players.

Aguero has pens and is up top. Swansea are a much better team than QPR. Aguero will be up against Clint Hill and Richard Dunne, two blokes that look like they should be in a Sunday league. Toure will be battling the mighty Joey Barton.

      Aguero for me.

Aguero likely to score more goals for sure. However, Sanchez could also do well and has the advantage of midfield scoring and more bonus chance if he scores one.

Marginally Aguero for me. Sanchez has lower ownership too, so if he scores well, owning him is enough for an advantage. If Aguero does well and you didn't captain him - Oops

Guys, just inside 10k for first time this season, but only 21pts clear in ML.
Which do you prefer for Vardy:

    A. Giroud (rival has)
    B. Beneteke

Would keep for the DGW. Given rival has Giroud, surely covering off is best?

    Migs
    PVA Terry Schlupp
    Hazard Ramsey Sanchez Sterling
    Vardy Aguero Kane

    Cheers all

No doubt Tekkers is in better form, but the DGW and the stress-free Giroud choice means I will probably go that way in the end. Thanks for your input!

You are in a better position than me. 11 point lead is basically nothing I feel. Im scared to go without Benteke but yes I'd be hiding behind the couch come DGW.

Though I could bring in Gru and then ship him in 38 for Tekkers

Better than being 11 pts behind though 🙂

I think I will do this. Villa have SOT away (typically strong DEF) in the DGW as well. If chasing, Tekkers is a great differential this week

Benteke! The guy is in beast mode

Then why not do Sterling > Ozil or Terry > Kos for the double GW

Thanks BB, that could work. Giroud form is very average so Ozil could easily outscore. More thought needed!

    Myhill (Mignolet)
    Terry Dawson Toby (Huth Moreno)
    Silva Sanchez Hazard Mane (Phillips)
    Aguero Remy Kane
    1.7 in the bank
    1 FT
    A) Remy to Giroud this week.. next week Hazard to Ozil/Ramsey
    B) Remy to Benteke this week.. next week Hazard + Mane to Ozil + Ramsey -4
    C) Remy + Mane to Wickham + Ozil this week -4.. next week Hazard to Ramsey

Grealish (WHU) or Albrighton (SOT) for this week only?

Remember, both Albrighton's assist's came from set pieces against Newcastle.

      11 years, 3 days ago

      Either look good TBH

I have Albrighton but certainly wouldn't mind Grealish either, especially if no Tekkers. Wouldn't double up.

      1. Puyol Pants Up
        • 11 Years

I plan on getting Tekkers also. But why no double up? I don't see the logic in that, Villa are expected to score some goals, with Benteke being considered as a major captain contender. Grealish is up there with the most chances created in the last month with Silva and Hazard so why not?

I don't get the logic in this tbh. I do (will) have Benteke, but why not double up? Makes no sense to me. (As suggested from my reply to BigBudgie above)

What is there not to get about it?

If Villa blank then you'll have two players that blank, instead of one. Benteke should cover Grealish's points so spread out your eggs

          1. Puyol Pants Up
            • 11 Years
            11 years, 3 days ago

But do we expect Villa players to blank? I still think Southampton have something to play for and would defiantly push for Europe. Leicester have been riding their luck imo, and I expect it too end. I highly doubt Southampton would concede from a set-piece situation.

West Ham in the other hand are in free-fall. Remember, who ever I pick would only play for this game only.

I never said I expect them to blank, just saying it's entirely possible 🙂

If that's what you think about Leicester then go for Grealish. But imo they have been playing with passion, and have deserved the results that they've got. They aren't safe yet so no reason to stop getting these results

All this talk about blocking - I am right in thinking there is no way to know WHO your opponent has brought in right?

I know you can see how many transfers they've made. i.e. my opponent has made 2, made 0 last week so has used 2 FTs.

All I can do is guess right?

You can make educated guesses based on the amount of money they have sometimes and money they have after transfers.

Additionally you might be able to block because of who they already have. For example I'm leading and mini league rivals already have Giroud. No way they're getting rid so I could block by bringing him in

Ok guys, I'll finish my secondary school in a couple of months, and are now supposed to choose university/type of study. I'm not sure what I want to study, but what I do know, is that I want the study to be somehow related to FPL. What I mean by this is, I want it to make me a better FPL-player 🙂

Would love your opinians on this, and have to apply within the weekend.

    My thinking is;

    1. Engineering/mathematics to improve my logial thinking.

    2. Economics, will teach me about stats etc.

    3. Psychology, could've maybe helped me foreseen Sterling's down in form, due to contract-talks, and gone for Coutinho instead.

    4. Language .Will giove me a great advantage as I'll be able to read the local news on different players in the PL. Spanish points out, rly.
