Non Fabregas owner here, but that was a strange red card. It's not as if he had shot it to an opponent from 2 meters. He basically just nonchalantly punted the ball to where it was supposed to be, players (notably Fletcher) were focusing on moaning at the ref, and shite happened. If Fletcher hadn't been crying to ref, he had been able to catch the ball and game could have continued normally.
Fabregas has previous, he's a petulant and peevish type. Mouthed off to Mark Hughes about Blackburn's tactics a few years back - Hughes went ballistic on the touchline, looked like he wanted to knock Cesc's head off. I think he was also in the thick of the argy bargy at Old Trafford when Arsenal lost their famous unbeaten run.

@Dr Wakooka: Absolutely, and Sterling can't be entirely blameless, it shows quite a bit how Rodgers has covered him self in glory at every opportunity, it seems to be all him when things go well, but everyone else's fault when things go sour, an awful shame really.
I'm no big fan of BR..he's done a shocking job of investing the Suarez funds....sadly a lot of managers do that, and not just in football.

oh totally, still mates now that is the thing. TBF Hansen was right, You can't win anything with kids. But that team in 1996 wasn't just kids. Yes you had Beckham, Scholes. Neville x2 and Butt but you also had Schmeichel, Bruce, Pallister, Irwin, Cantona who were all experienced players in the 1st choice XI and the like of McClair, Parker, May, Coton, who offered plenty of experience.
That is the key, you need both. You get the young lads in and they learn from the more experienced pros and as the years pass, those lads become the experienced ones for the next group.My son plays to quite a high junior standard in the West Lancs prem league, part of that is that they then play against the Merseyside teams in the cup competitions.
His league has produced many good pros (Phil Jones was the last high profile one one from his club)...but I can't even begin to tell you how much better the Merseyside clubs are than the West Lancs clubs...
Somebody at Liverpool (and Everton) are looking far too hard at what is right there on their own doorstep....Just like happened for United.
